This experience was truly beautiful. More than a Workaway, it felt like living as a local, which was such a gift. Saiju often invited me to meet his friends, and many evenings naturally ended at the beach, watching the day soften into sunset. Those simple moments made the experience very special. His homestay is wonderful, and he keeps it with great care, everything is very clean and well organized, which creates a peaceful environment to live in. The work itself is simple and easy, leaving space to enjoy the rhythm of the place and the connections with people. The house has a kitchen, and he is happy if you enjoy cooking. The home is right next to the beach, and you will have your own peaceful space there to relax and recharge. Saiju is a truly extraordinary person: fair, kind, respectful and very cordial. He is a good friend, and he will always be there to support you. If you ever need anything, you can count on him. Thank you for everything Saiju! 🙏☀️

Jennifer was a joy to have with us during her two stays in October/November 2025 and again in December/January 2026. She provided invaluable one-on-one learning support, showing a deep understanding of our learners' academic needs while remaining incredibly kind and patient. Her social skills made her a favorite among both the students and our staff—everyone truly loved her energy. We sincerely miss seeing you sitting in 'your corner,' Jen! You are welcome back anytime.

Sem initially came to our project for a couple of weeks, but loved the environment and project so much that Sem came back to volunteer again a few weeks later, and everyone was so happy to see her again 😊 It was so lovely to have Sem here on both occasions. Sem is a very considerate and caring person. She really took the time to plan and teach the kids to help improve their English skills. The kids greatly appreciated Sem with her calm and warm nature. Thank you for all of your help and we can't wait to have you back again soon!

Peppi was wonderful to have around. She brought so much positive energy, always smiling and always laughing with a caring heart. Not only did Peppi help teach the kids important life topics in a safe but open environment, she also contributed so much into designing and implementing new cleaning systems to help improve our academy. Thank you so much for the time that you spent with us. We all really miss you and will always open our home to welcome you back.

I had such a wonderful time staying with Konny, Stefan, and their animals that I decided to extend my stay. This place really feels like a home away from home and you will quickly be integrated in their daily routines. They have different types of work and try to find the best fit for everyone. I enjoyed every single moment and hope we meet again one day! Thank you so much!

Fred and Charlie were absolutely brilliant. We achieved an enormous amount in just one week. I could simply give them a verbal list of tasks and they would remember every detail, completing each job to a very high standard without needing supervision. They were consistently polite, thoughtful, and exceptionally neat and tidy. It was a genuine pleasure having them here. They are welcome back anytime, and I wish them all the very best as they continue their journey across the Nullarbor.

Georgia is a lovely gentle young woman with great initiative. We worked together on painting and decorating my new cabin - she completed all of the painting and I was able to leave her to it and work on other projects. We moved furniture from one room to another and anytime she saw me lifting stuff, she was there in a flash. So very helpful and willing. The other bonus was her cooking. She always made sure food was cooked and ready even on the day I was away. During the time of renovations she was a great person to brainstorm with and such a great problem solver. A wonderful young lady to host and great company too.

Maxime & Laurence are absolutely amazing: we had great conversations, both are very easy-going and fun to have around. Laurence and Max are self-motivated, have high standards, and a great work ethic. Together, they climbed and pruned some high trees and dealt with the firewood. I wish they could have stayed longer, and I hope they are coming back. I highly recommend them to any future host.

Austen! It was such a joy having your vibrant energy in our classrooms, and we cannot thank you enough for the time you shared with us. Your creative lessons turned learning English into the highlight of the day for our students. You have a remarkable gift for making every student feel happy and encouraged to learn. We are so grateful for the kindness and fun you brought to our school community during your time here. While we are sad to see you go, we wish you the very best on your next adventure!

Sebas and Sofia were wonderful workawayers! They are really lovely, calm, reliable people and their kind, cheerful vibe is a fantastic addition to any household. They were great cooks, warm and loving caretakers for our dog, Toby, and really helpful and thorough with any task we asked them to help with. Both of them were very conscientious and great at communicating as well. It was a pleasure to have them stay with us and we would have them back anytime!

Hosting Kate and Martin was such a blessing. For the first 10 days they housesat for us and took care of our pets while we were away, and we felt very calm with our home being in their care. We also came back to a spotless house. When we arrived back on the island, they threw themselves straight into caring for our children, and it was so wonderful to see our children warm to them, like family visiting, and having so much fun together. Both Kate and Martin were exceptionally great and transparent communicators, which made the exchange go smoothly, with our children's wellbeing importantly the priority. We feel like we've made true family friends, and they've given us a really great insight into the kind of care we want for our children. We wish them all the best and are happy for them to come back anytime.

Im sorry this has taken so long to write .... I was lucky to have Lisa stay with me and help last fall. She was great with the horses , is fluent in english and a VEGAN! I was kind of burntout at the end of last summer and she was great at cooking for herself and helping me with the everyday chores. I wish her and Marvin all the best in their future endeavours.

Antonia was with us for about 2 weeks, but we wish it could have been longer! What a delightful young lady she is. She was open to any type of project and stuck with them until they were finished. She is a quick learner and didn't hesitate to wear the safety gear we recommended. We had such nice talks after dinner about life in England, British TV, and much more. She is welcome back anytime!

Además, me dieron mucha libertad y pude dedicar mucho tiempo a mí mismo.

I stayed here for 2 weeks and I had a really great time there. The place is very unique in the middle of the jungle and very close to the Tayrona Park, still quite easy to reach and get to many other places like Santa Marta, Palomino or Minca. Work was not too demanding and the daily tasks were quite various including for example general maintenance of the property, cleaning or preparing breakfast for the guests. I thought the division of labor was very fair with 3 full days of work per week and then 4 days off, which allowed for plenty of time to explore the surrounding area. During my time there, there were always other volunteers and a nice community vibe. For me, it was the perfect place to pause for a moment and find something on my journey that felt a little bit like home :) Thanks Clarissa & Darell for hosting me.

I spend 2 weeks during Tet holiday here with Vaidas and his Lab. It was amazing! He is the kindest soul. Opening up his house to everyone. Always wanting to help out the ones in need. He really made this amazing community art space where everyone feels like a family. It inspired me a lot! It is such a creative space with so many ideas. I also met a lot of great people in these 2 weeks (expats and locals). I mostly helped out in the café. I learned to make all these amazing Vietnamese coffees. And the house is such a peaceful safe haven. We also did a very nice daytrip together. Thank you Vaidas for letting me lastminute be a part of the family ❤️

I had such a fulfilling week staying with Basil and Ananda. Denmark truly is a wonderful place, and it has so much to thank them both for in terms of their contribution to the community. Louisa and I helped in the community garden — both with gardening and creative projects — as well as around their home. We also took part in local activities, which made us feel incredibly connected and genuinely part of the community. I really appreciated that all our work was completed in the mornings, leaving us plenty of time in the afternoons to soak up everything Denmark had to offer. I also loved how structured our days were; there was never any uncertainty or awkwardness around tasks, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. My main objective when travelling is to leave more than footprints or tyre marks — I want to leave knowing I’ve made a positive contribution to the community — and that was truly accomplished here. Thank you again for such a rewarding experience.

Hosting Jay was a wonderful first Workaway experience for our family. As it was the first time for both of us, we were learning the program together, which made the experience very special. He was friendly, respectful, and willing to help. He was helping with cleaning and snow shoveling during the winter. He was also great with my kids — they loved playing with him, especially in the snow. We truly enjoyed the cultural exchange and the time we shared. It was a memorable and positive experience for our whole family.

As our first workaway experience Lou has set a very high bar! We would absolutely recommend her to other hosts. She is energetic, proactive and prepared to give anything a go and has a wonderful personality - we would be happy to have her back anytime.
