    Description

I am a single mom of two beautiful boys. I work in a company as a new business development manager.

Our place is located in Rosebank area in the city of Pickering, right next to Toronto, offering the perfect balance between peaceful living and easy access to the city.
The primary appeal of Rosebank is its access to nature. Workawayers can enjoy extensive trails, fishing, birdwatching, and camping opportunities in the nearby Rouge Park and Petticoat Creek Conservation Area. The Waterfront Trail runs along the Lake Ontario shoreline. Our house is a short distance away from Rouge Beach.
We live in a large, comfortable home in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood surrounded by nature.

We are approximately a 30-minute drive from Toronto Pearson International Airport. If you take public transit, the trip to our home is about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Getting to downtown Toronto is easy as well—just a 30-minute GO train ride to all the major attractions, museums, restaurants, and vibrant city life.

We are a nature-loving family who enjoys the outdoors, peaceful surroundings, and a cozy home environment. Helpers who appreciate quiet, nature, and family-friendly spaces will feel very comfortable here.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

As a family, my twin boys and I are very passionate about cooking and baking. We love experimenting with new flavors and sharing meals together, so we would be delighted if our WorkAwayer joins us in the kitchen and brings their own creativity and cultural dishes into our home.

We also enjoy hiking and traveling, and we have many stories and experiences to share during your stay. Our home is located close to Toronto’s only national park, the beautiful Rouge Valley National Park, where you can enjoy long hikes, peaceful nature, and stunning scenery right in our neighborhood.

We hope to create a warm, fun, and cultural exchange where we learn from each other and enjoy memorable moments together.

  • Help

    Help

For the winter season, we mainly welcome help with clearing snow from the driveway, light cleanup around the house, and simple household fixes. Experience using basic power tools is helpful and appreciated.

We’re especially looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work and feels comfortable using basic tools for simple home repairs or improvements. If you like to fix things, tidy up spaces, and take pride in practical projects, you’ll be a wonderful fit here.

This position suits someone who enjoys working with their hands, spending time outdoors, and appreciating nature’s calm beauty — while sharing time with a kind and friendly family.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

In your free time, you’ll have plenty of ways to relax, explore, and enjoy the area. We are especially hoping to welcome a Workawayer who is enthusiastic, open to learning, and happy to share skills and ideas with us. We believe learning is a two-way exchange, and we enjoy gaining new perspectives from our helpers as much as we enjoy teaching.

We kindly ask that helpers are present and engaged during our DIY projects, which means not being glued to your cellphone while we work together. Good communication and teamwork make the experience more enjoyable for everyone.

During your off time or days off, you can enjoy long walks or hikes through the beautiful Rouge Valley National Park, visit the nearby beach, or head downtown to explore Toronto’s cultural attractions. You’re also welcome to relax at home—whether that’s watching TV, reading a book, playing games, or enjoying our spacious living room.
