Description
This is a space in Tuy Hòa, Vietnam, dedicated to events, art, music, creativity, community, and social connection. We host a variety of events, including live music, yoga, trivia nights, Vietnamese lessons, English conversation clubs, art exhibitions, and workshops - creating an ever-evolving atmosphere for both locals and travelers. It’s a place where art, culture, and conversation come together.
Currently, we employ four people in addition to the owner. The team (all Vietnamese) takes care of various tasks such as making coffee, cocktails, food, as well as handling admin and marketing.
Volunteers will be asked to help with a range of projects (art, design, renovation, beautification, presentations, and event planning/hosting). The focus is on bringing a fresh, international perspective and new ideas to help create a unique and welcoming space where Vietnamese guests can connect with different cultures. At the same time, there are also less exciting tasks - like finishing ongoing projects, organizing spaces, or hosting events during quieter times.
Volunteers will work alongside the Lithuanian owner and the Vietnamese staff. We hope they’ll share their skills and ideas with the team, take initiative, and contribute in a meaningful way.
This place is the only that has a art gallery in Tuy Hò, blending a Western-themed creative space with the local Vietnamese environment. Volunteers will experience a unique mix of cultures, interacting with local staff, expats, and Vietnamese customers who visit the space. 🌏

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Even though the host (me) is Lithuanian, this place is a great opportunity to experience Vietnamese culture, local art, and the rhythm of life in a small beach town.
Volunteers can expect to:
Work alongside Vietnamese staff and naturally exchange cultural insights in a relaxed, social setting.
Meet a mix of people - from curious locals to expats who’ve made Tuy Hòa their home.
Experience everyday Vietnamese life in a non-touristy city, while contributing to a creative space that brings people together.
Share their own culture, ideas, and creative influences through art, music, conversations, and events.
There’s also plenty of opportunity for language exchange. Many locals are excited to practice their English and will happily help you with your Vietnamese in return. 🗨️
Unlike traditional homestays, there won’t be big family dinners, but there will still be lots of chances for meaningful cultural exchange through daily life, social events, and creative projects.
Help
The tasks are casual, creative, and social - perfect for anyone who enjoys a mix of artistic projects and light hospitality work.
As an art space, a lot of what we do revolves around improving and curating the environment.
Volunteers can contribute in different ways depending on their skills and interests, including:
Art, Design & Space Development 🎨
Helping select, create, or display art pieces.
Using AI tools to generate art or collaborating with local artists.
Printing, framing, and setting up exhibitions.
Creating original art using available supplies.
Hanging artwork around the space (our motto is: nothing should stay white—we’re all about adding color everywhere).
Improving the overall look and feel of the space.
Events 🎶
Helping set up and run events based on your interests, such as:
Board game nights
Trivia nights
Karaoke or jam sessions
Yoga or meditation sessions
Art or jewelry workshops
…and more
Bringing in creative ideas to make the space more engaging—and just as importantly, helping bring those ideas to life (not leaving them for the next volunteers 😄).
Hospitality Help ☕
Interacting with guests and creating a welcoming, social atmosphere.
Social Media & Promotion 📱
Helping us improve our Airbnb and Workaway profiles.
Creating content or posting updates on Facebook and Instagram about events and daily life in the space.
Contributing ideas to help promote the space and reach more people.
Overall, this is a flexible, creative role where you can bring your energy, ideas, and artistic side into the space while experiencing the unique atmosphere of Tuy Hòa.

Accommodation
You’ll stay in a newly opened relaxed hostel run by one of my former volunteers, located about 7 minutes from the Lab where everything happens. You’ll have access to bicycles, a scooter, or a lift to get to and from the space anytime.
The hostel also has a café, where you’ll have your breakfast - either something sweet (yogurt with fruit) or savory (bánh mì).
There’s a common area with a kitchen, sofas, and chairs, plus some outdoor seating and a rooftop where you can read, do yoga, or just enjoy some quiet time (when it’s not too hot haha).
Since the hostel has just opened, it’s still under renovation. At the moment, there’s one room available that can accommodate up to four volunteers. The room has its own bathroom with hot water.
Danny, the former volunteer who runs the place, is a super nice and easygoing guy. Tommy and Lin, a Vietnamese couple, also live on the top floor - they co-own the hostel with Danny and are very friendly and fun to be around.
There are also two puppies and a cat living there - they’re very adorable and always up for some cuddles ☺️
Other meals will be provided at the Lab, or on some days we’ll go out for street food or have a BBQ on the beach.
What else ...
Tuy Hòa is a relaxed coastal city with plenty of natural and cultural spots to explore in your free time.
As a volunteer, you’ll have the chance to:
Visit waterfalls and scenic spots - this area is full of beautiful places, and we’re happy to guide you or give travel tips.
Go on hikes - there are some really nice spots around that we can recommend.
Explore cultural sites - temples, local markets, and historical landmarks offer a deeper look into Vietnamese culture.
Chill in cozy cafés - Tuy Hòa is full of them - perfect for reading, working on creative projects, or just slowing down.
Enjoy the beach - long, quiet stretches ideal for morning swims or sunset walks (just 2 minutes by scooter or about 10 minutes on foot from where you’ll stay).
Work on personal projects - this isn’t just a place for guests, it’s a space for you too. Whether it’s art, writing, crafts, or anything else, you’re encouraged to use the environment creatively.
We also often organize beach bonfires, BBQs, and night swims with bioluminescent plankton - which is pretty magical.
This experience isn’t just about work, it’s about immersing yourself in a new culture, enjoying the local vibe, and being part of a creative, social community.
