Hi, I am a mother of 4 grown children; 3 living and studying in Melbourne and one living overseas. I love the company of people of all ages and learning about new cultures and points of view.
I am looking for help to help transform our home inside and out. Our previous wonderful Workaway visitors have already helped enormously; we are through the majority of the outside painting but we would dearly love some friendly, hard working assistants to help complete the task.
And in return we can offer you a bed in our beautiful beach house, in an amazing location between two beaches, use of boogie boards, bicycles, beautiful places nearby to explore. Or stay in and enjoy a huge range of dvds to watch, and home cooked meals in an Australian family environment.
Other projects we are looking to start on:
Painting the pergola outside, or painting bedrooms inside:
Building a vegetable garden; teaching me about permaculture.
Setting up the veggie garden sprinkler system:
Building blue-stone walls;
Adding onto our very own Swiss Family Robinson style tree house;
Creating garden paths;
General weeding, mulching and gardening.
There is always more to do!!
I am very hard working and hands-on; and I expect honesty, and an attitude of enthusiasm and willingness from others to get in and work hard too. Work hard; play fairly and live life to the fullest.
There are a wide range of jobs so shoot us a line and offer us what skills you have or what you are willing to learn how to do.
Portsea is an incredible location.
We are looking for helpers from April 2019 onwards.

Family home, busy with activities!!
There are plenty of beautiful coastal walks in many directions: even a Sorrento-Portsea Artists Trail, where local and international artists have captured some of the local coastal views.
There are a variety of local pubs to sit and watch the boats come and go.
Sorrento village is nearby (bus, bike ride, walk) which has a range of quaint heritage boutiques: you can wander the limestone shopfronts or even get a huge famous vanilla custard slice. Throughout the year there are open air markets, art galleries, festivals, fun carnivals and activities of all sorts; never a dull moment.
Close by History:
The Nepean Historical Museum and Pioneer Cottage
Point Nepean and Collins Settlement Historic Site where World War 1 and 2 are supposed to have officially started with the first firing of a cannon.
Sun bake at the calm bay beach or body surf at the wild back beach.
Go on a seal and dolphin swimming adventures, fishing trip or bay cruise or take the plunge on a scuba diving expedition.
There are a variety of local places in Portsea, Sorrento, Blairgowrie, Rye and Rosebud to meet other young travellers and share experiences. Or you can relax quietly with a book from our huge library and read on the hammock, and plenty of dvds to relax in bed late in the evening.
