    Description

    Hello and welcome!

My name is Anja (65 y/o). I live and work on a lovely farm in the south of the Netherlands. The farm has a large garden that needs regular upkeep, which is where we could really use your help—especially with gardening tasks, but also with occasional small projects like restoration, cleaning, and general maintenance.

The garden is home to a few chickens, pigeons, and a cat, and the farm is located just outside the city, but still close to public transport (about 15 minutes by bike).

My son (Warden - 24 y/o) and daughter (Bente - 26 y/o)both live in nearby cities (Breda and Tilburg) and visit the farm almost every weekend to help out and spend time together.

    What we offer:

    - A private caravan to stay in, located on the property

    - Breakfast provided daily

    - Free use of our bikes to explore the area

    - A swimming pool to enjoy on warmer days (open from June)

In exchange, we ask for around 3 hours of help per day, and you’ll take care of your own lunch and dinner (the caravan has a small kitchen where you can cook).

Who we’re looking for: We’re looking for independent, practical Workawayers—preferably a couple or two friends—who enjoy being outdoors and can help out without too much instruction. There’s always something to do, but we're super open and flexible. You’ll be able to discuss together which tasks suit you best.

During your free time, there’s plenty to discover in the area—nature, cute villages, and cities are all within easy reach by bike or train. We’ll gladly give you tips on where to go and what to see.

Ideal stay: 1 to 1.5 weeks.

Important: No drugs allowed on the property.

We would love to share our way of living with you and tell you about The Netherlands and Dutch culture. We can also guide or take you to some local spots which we enjoy, for example a typical old Dutch mill. We also have nice swimming pool which you could use during the warmer days to cool down or relax.

If you're interested, I teach Dutch to refugees and i'd be more than happy to teach you as well.
Furthermore, we all speak English and are always open to share and learn, so if you want to improve your English, you’re at the right address ;)

You can learn everything about gardening and green energy around here!

What kind of help do we need?

There are plenty of ways you can lend a hand here—and you can choose what suits you best! Whether you prefer being outside in the fresh air or helping inside the house, we’re happy with any support. You’re also welcome to mix and match both types of tasks.

    🌿 In the garden
Join me in the garden and enjoy working with your hands in nature. We have a small kitchen garden where you might pick fresh berries, cherries, apples, pears, or walnuts—depending on the season. Other possible tasks include trimming hedges, mowing the lawn, tidying up branches, and helping to keep the outdoor space neat and green.

    🏠 In the house
If gardening isn’t really your thing—or if you’d like a change of pace—you can also help inside the house. This could be simple cleaning tasks like wiping down tables and furniture, vacuuming, or tidying up different areas.

    Your input is welcome!
Have an idea or a skill you'd like to share? We'd love to hear it! We are super easygoing and really appreciate any kind of help. We're happy to chat with you about what you’d enjoy doing most.

We live outside of the city in a calm green farm area, nevertheless, public transport is only 15 minutes by bike and could take you to bigger Dutch cities like Breda and Tilburg in about 30-45 minutes.

All of us are very welcoming open-minded people, and so far only had lovely workaway experiences which we always love sharing stories about.
