🌿 Hi there! I’m Busem – but you can call me Sem!
I’m a 23-year-old English teacher from Turkey with a big heart for kids, animals, and nature. Although I seem quiet at first, I’m actually full of warmth, curiosity, and positive energy once you get to know me. People often describe me as kind, helpful, smiley – and a bit of a gentle sunshine! ☀️

I’ve been teaching English for 3 years – one year as a trainee and two years professionally – working with children, teens, and adults in private schools, language centers, public schools, and one-on-one lessons. I truly love creating fun and meaningful learning experiences, where students feel seen and empowered.

👩‍🏫 Teaching is one of my biggest passions, but I’m also open to supporting eco-projects, helping with animals, community work, and wellness-related activities like yoga. I believe in lifelong learning and I enjoy contributing in any environment that values growth, kindness, and collaboration.

🌍 I grew up in the vibrant city of Istanbul and studied at university in Ankara, the capital. So I’m used to the fast rhythm of city life – and I love the energy of it! But in recent years, I’ve become more drawn to discovering calmer, greener places that still have a strong sense of community and access to culture. I’d love to contribute in a meaningful way, leave a small positive trace behind, and grow as a person while doing it.

💻 In addition to teaching, I’m currently studying Computer Programming (Associate Degree) and I enjoy creating little projects that mix technology and education. I’ve also done volunteer work before – like translation and basic website design for a non-profit (though the project has now ended). I’m always up for learning something new and trying out fresh ideas.

🧘‍♀️ In my free time, you’ll usually find me practicing yoga, playing handpan, journaling, reading books, drawing, playing games, or simply getting lost in new ideas. I love writing – whether it’s stories, thoughts, or reflections – and I find joy in both solo creativity and shared experiences. Exploring new places, cultures, and perspectives always excites me and fuels my curiosity.

💚 I believe in balance – between people and nature, between giving and receiving. I’m passionate about sustainability, inclusivity, empathy, and cooperation. Whether I’m helping out with a lesson, planting something in a garden, or just having a nice chat over tea – I’m here to share, support, and connect.
I want to discover the world not just by seeing it, but by being part of it — giving as I grow, learning as I offer, leaving traces of kindness where I go. My heart longs to explore not only distant lands, but also the deeper corners of myself — and in both journeys, to plant something that lasts.

While I’m not a certified instructor, I can confidently guide simple beginner-level yoga sessions or mindfulness-based stretches with others. I enjoy creating calming, supportive spaces where we can move, breathe, and feel better together.

Animal lover (I have a cat!), happy to help with feeding, cleaning, playing or general care. I bond easily with animals and respect their space and needs. I’d also love to take your dog for walks and spend time with them outdoors.

As a teacher, I naturally enjoy being around children – whether it’s reading stories, helping with homework, organizing games, or just being a fun & safe presence. I also volunteered at a university pool where I accompanied children during their swimming lessons, helped them get ready before and after sessions, and observed their safety and needs throughout.

I love being outdoors and would be happy to assist in planting, watering, or helping with garden chores – I learn fast and enjoy physical work when connected with nature.

I’ve worked as a waitress in both cafés and hotels, so I’m comfortable with serving, taking orders, and creating a friendly atmosphere for guests. I enjoy working with people and being part of a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

I once worked in a haunted house – yes, in costume! I helped create an immersive experience by performing in character and monitoring the space through cameras. It was a unique and fun way to connect with people and bring excitement to a creative setting.
