Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You will be living in a beautiful set up of one and a half hectares at 800m altitude in the Alsacian Jura, experimenting a way of living close to nature. There are amazing walks to do, mountain biking, cross-country skiing in winter, horse riding in the nearby village.
You will be able to learn about the culture and French & German language.
You will learn how to grow a permaculture garden.
You will have a view on the Black Forest in Germany and the swiss Alps.
If you feel like having some city life, close by, reachable with public transport, is the Swiss city Basel. There are several world famous museums to visit as well as botanical gardens, a zoo, fairs, ferries on the river Rhine...You will also find many different refreshment bars and restaurants.
Delémont and Porrentruy, although smaller towns, are worthwhile visiting too.Help
Good physical shape is required for OUTDOOR work. There are all kinds of work to be done outside such as cleaning the land, burning branches, garden work, choping dead trees fallen on the meadows, diging holes for fence posts, fixing fences, trimming an overgrown hedge, laying flabs around the fire pit area, pet sitting, walking the dogs, eventually cleaning the paddocks and stables as there are lamas and horses on the land too and so on...Some knowledge in masonry, carpentry, electricity work would be great.
INSIDE In the house (250m2) help is needed to recalibrate and organise parts of the house and to keep it clean and tidy (windows, floors...). Walls & doors refreshing/painting
