Description
Hola! We run an agri-touristic project in San Rafael Antioquia. We run an eco-lodge, restaurante, bar, and have an organic vegetable garden. Currently we are looking for help with publicity/documentation of the project, help in the gardens, reforestation projects, and help preserving San Rafael and our community region by collecting trash around the property and the neighborhood to try to keep the area beautiful. We offer our volunteers to participate in a weekly organic gardening/permaculture design workshop!
We ask for between 3 hours per day (15 hours per week) in exchange for your accommodation with us. We ask for a five day minimum stay and we have a three week trial period before deciding on long-term stays with full room and board.

Hola! Nosotros trabajamos con un proyecto de agriturismo en San Rafael Antioquia. Aqui manejamos un eco-lodge, restaurante, bar, y huerta organica. Siempre estamos buscando compartir este espacio con gente de buena honda. Ahorita estamos buscando ayuda con publicidad/documentación del progreso y gente en el lugar, trabajo en huertas, proyectos de reforestación y siembra de bosques-comestibles, y ayuda a la comunidad en recoger basuras en la zona para mantener los bosques y ríos limpios.
Ofrecemos a nuestros voluntarios participar en un clase por semana de manejo de una huerta orgánica y diseño de permacultura dirigido por un compañero con mas de 10 años de experiencia.
Pedimos 3 horas al día o (15 horas por semana) como intercambio para la acomodación con nosotros. La estadía minima es de cinco días y tenemos una periodo de prueba de tres semanas antes de hacer intercambio de largo plazo.

Travellers on the farm have the opportunity to spend time around el macanal river in San Rafael, Antioquia--getting to know a small community of Colombians and immigrants living in the Antioquian mountains. We are trying new farming techniques, new types of construction and in general trying to learn new things as often as possible. Everyday there is something to learn or to try on the farm.

As many of our volunteer oportunities will change with the season as well as with the skills a volunteer brings to the table, it is a bit difficult to describe the daily tasks of all volunteers. That said, we expect 3 hours of good help five days a week!

Our farm is located on the river el Macanal in San Rafael, Antioquia. We are quite isolated, but surrounded by beautiful nature. With ten beautuiful swimming spots, and a waterfall on the property, the surrounding nature should keep you occupied in your freetime. There is also an eco lodge on the property with a bar, live music, and restaurant for some weekend entertainment. The town of San Rafael is about an hour walk away, or a ten minute walk and 15 minute tuc tuc drive.

We are in a rural area with power outages and storms, so every few weeks we are without internet for at least a few hours while maintenance is being done or while there are big storms.

Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit. Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und flexibel. wir haben morgens 3 Stunden gearbeitet und danach hat man freie Zeit um sich zu entspannen, zum River zu gehen etc. Das Essen war auch sehr lecker. The eco lodge is in a beautiful location right next to a river and in the mountains. After work you can go swimming and hiking. Our stay with Jesse was one of the highlights of our trip! We helped create some trail markers and signs for the property, which was a fun project and gave us plenty of free time to rest and explore. My stay at hosts was really nice! Every day we worked 3 hours in the morning on the farm where we either would weed, plant, dig etc. The rest of the day we could just relax, take a swim in the river or go to the cute village San Rafael! The 3 meals are good and made with the vegetables of the garden :). Could recommend this place!!

There’s always cool projects in the works from organic gardening to woodworking.
