Description
The Mongolian Calligraphy Center is a non-profit organization located in Karakorum, the ancient capital of Mongolia. We are a small international team: founder and calligrapher Tamir (Mongolian), founder Joel (French), Center's manager Ariunsanaa (Mongolia) and Project's assistant Agata (Polish). We're dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Mongolian calligraphy.
We offer a unique opportunity for cultural immersion and volunteer will help in a beautiful and historic setting. Volunteers will gain firsthand experience in a traditional Mongolian environment while contributing to the important work of our center.Types of help and learning opportunities

1. Center Operations:
-Assist with ticket sales and visitor inquiries at our reception area.
-Prepare the center for daily operations, including setting up exhibitions and welcoming visitors.
-Conduct engaging guided tours of our calligraphy exhibitions, sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm with visitors.
-Assist with the organization and maintenance of our exhibition spaces.
2. Center Promotion:
-Help us create engaging social media content (photos, videos, short stories) to promote the center and attract new visitors.
-Assist with the creation of promotional materials
3. Logistics:
- Help us with new exhibitions logistics
- Exhibition openings' preparation
- Assist at the workshops
4. Archives and documentation:
- Help us create an archive of exhibitions and artworks
5. General Support:
-Assist with various tasks as needed, such as helping with administrative tasks, and participating in community outreach activities.
We are looking for volunteers who

Calligraphy, at its core, is an art form deeply intertwined with language. We encourage volunteers to share their native languages with us, and we are happy to share basic Mongolian phrases and words related to calligraphy.Accommodation
Volunteers will be accommodated in a traditional Mongolian yurt (ger) at the Mongolian Calligraphy Center:
-Shared Yurt: The yurt will be shared with other volunteers, fostering a friendly and communal atmosphere.
-Basic Amenities: The yurt is equipped with basic amenities, including:
-Beds: 2-3 beds in a yurt
-Shared bathroom facilities
-Wi-Fi access
-Nomadic Spirit: Please note that the accommodation reflects a nomadic spirit and is minimally furnished in keeping with the traditional Mongolian dwelling.

We are a small international (Polish-Mongolian-French) family run NGO dedicated to preserving and promoting Mongolian calligraphy. We value a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and strive to create a meaningful and enriching experience for all our volunteers. We encourage volunteers to be curious, ask questions, and engage in open discussions about Mongolian culture and the art of calligraphy.
The Center is located in Karakorum, the ancient capital of Mongolia, within the Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape. It's situated near Erdene Zuu Monastery, the oldest Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. You can enjoy views of the monastery's stupas right from the center and appreciate the peaceful mountain scenery. At the same time is's conveniently located within walking distance of various grocery shops, restaurants, and just 800 meters from the local market.A little more information
