 - Description- My name is Tara. I live here on a 2 acre property with a house and several treehouses.
There's many projects in the works and we are seeking people that can bring in extra creativity and skill. I have an NPO called Clean Land, Air and Water; we implement comprehensive waste reduction initiatives. There are 4 community recycling centers that collect glass, aluminum and plastic colas. I started a school composting program in Corozal District, plus backyard composting for residents and businesses. We need help building bins, recycling projects, collecting and sorting.
Belize is amazing; a small gem with a lot of love. It's magical here. On the grounds, there is really great energy and everything we're doing is for something greater with a purpose. Just being a part of this exciting adventure, creating, growing, healing, expanding will be a great experience. I prefer 1-2 week visits, longer if it fits right. Belize is a small country but worth experiencing more than one area.
Please note: This is a vegan establishment, we welcome all but we do not allow any food products of animals, including eggs, dairy, fish, meat, on the property.
No offense but no cigarette smokers.
 - Types of help and learning opportunities- Charity Work - Art Projects - Help with Eco Projects - Gardening - DIY and building projects - Creating/ Cooking family meals - Help around the house - General Maintenance - Help with Computers/ Internet
 - Cultural exchange and learning opportunities- The area is in a small town with a lot of love. Community engagement is essential to part of life here and at times we will be partaking in community service for those in need and picking up trash in the neighborhood. The people here are kind and hard workers. They can teach us skills.
 - Help- We do projects based on the talents and skills of who's visiting.
 1. We are working on renovating the main house including kitchen and bathroom, as well as, the treehouses and guest rooms. We need people with basic carpentry skills to build tables, cabinets, and shelves.
 2. Corozal has an outdated practice of burning trash. The town needs help implementing a more sustainable way of dealing with the trash. We are in the process of creating multiple community compost systems. We need help building bins, collecting and sorting waste.
 3. Artist of all types. We need murals, paintings, sculptures, decorating, etc. Also, we are experimenting turning trash into art and other useful items.
 4. I need someone who has experience in YouTube channel, taking videos and photos. Having fun with social media, documenting the projects.
 5. I need someone with experience in tile mosaics. It would be great to have someone with an artistic flair.
 6. Maintenance, yard tasks, and cleaning is expected of everyone.
 7. One and two week visitors are great for dedicated projects and general help cleaning and weeding.
 8. Looking for someone to dedicate time to the yard to weed whack, tree trim, clean up yard, weed.
When inquiring, please let me know specific dates and how long you would like to stay.
 - Languages spoken- English: Fluent
 Spanish: Beginner
 - Accommodation- We have two treehouses with full kitchen and compost toilets. They each have a queen bed. There is no hot water on the premises. Food will be provided for 3 plant based meals for 5 work days, 5 hours a day. We eat lunch together M-F. Bottled water will be provided.
I need to note that during certain times of the year, the smoke fills the air from burning of trash. There are times its not present for months, times its just in the morning and times when its persistent throughout the day. It mostly happens with the winds come in from the north. I can't control it but I do my best to ask people to stop burning. If this should happen, it's up to the discretion to stay or not.
 - What else ...- Fun things to do: go to the bay swimming, bike rides, walk through town, visit Mayan site, snorkeling, water volleyball is on Thursdays. Belize bus transportation is fairly inexpensive to get around Belize. People take trips on the weekends to the islands. We are 3 miles from town. There are bikes to use for your convenience.

I had such a great time by Tara. Her visions are amazing. She started her project(s) some month ago and it’s fantastic how and how fast she realize her dreams. So much energy, and also a big talent for organising. In my two weeks of staying I helped mostly by gardening, sometime with craftwork. I totally recommend this workaway if you are… read more
