Description
Hello! We are Joelle and Jordan, a musical duo from Newfoundland & Labrador, performing as Ever Sweet. We’re musicians, storytellers, and adventurers who love sharing the music and culture of Newfoundland through song. Joelle is also a fibre artist, working with textiles and natural materials to create unique pieces inspired by Newfoundland’s landscapes and traditions.
We split our time between touring and living close to nature. From April to June 2025, we’ll be on an Atlantic Canada tour and are looking for reliable, nature-loving Workawayers to house-sit our home while we’re away.
What’s involved?
- Enjoying a farm stay in a quiet Newfoundland outport
- Caring for our hens, garden, and cats
- Soaking up the beauty of rural Newfoundland while staying in a cozy home
- If you love animals, nature, and slow living, we'd love to hear from you!Types of help and learning opportunities

Travellers will have the unique opportunity to experience life in a rural fishing village on the Northeast Coast of Newfoundland, where tradition and nature go hand in hand. You’ll gain insight into the heritage, culture, and way of life in a small coastal community, surrounded by stunning landscapes.
Located near hiking trails, beaches, and the ocean, this area is perfect for exploring Newfoundland’s wild coastline, spotting whales and seabirds, and foraging for berries in season.
As artists and musicians, Joelle and Jordan love sharing their knowledge of Newfoundland folk music, weaving, and fibre arts. Whether you’re interested in learning traditional songs, trying your hand at weaving, or exploring creative projects, we’d be happy to share our skills and stories with you.Help

- Gardening – watering and tending to the garden as it begins to grow in the spring
- Keeping the home tidy – general cleaning and upkeep to maintain a cozy, welcoming space
This is a peaceful spot to enjoy nature, with plenty of opportunities for relaxation, creativity, and exploring rural Newfoundland. If you love animals, gardening, and slow living, we'd love to hear from you!Languages

We offer two private rooms inside our home, with access to two shared washrooms. There is also a backyard campervan available for those who prefer a more private or outdoor stay.
Workawayers will have full access to the kitchen, living room, backyard, and shed. While we are away, you will be responsible for your own food, but there will be plenty of fresh eggs from our backyard hens to enjoy. When we are home, we love sharing family meals together.
Our home is conveniently located next to a grocery store, and we also have a laundry machine onsite for your use. What else ...
When you're not tending to the home, garden, or animals, there are plenty of ways to enjoy your time off and explore the area:
- Hiking trails – Discover scenic coastal and inland trails with breathtaking views.
- Beaches – A beautiful beach is just a 5-minute walk away, perfect for relaxing, exploring tide pools, or watching the waves.
- Boat tours – Experience the ocean up close with local boat tours, where you can see whales, icebergs (seasonal), and seabirds.
- Museums & heritage sites – Learn about Newfoundland’s deep-rooted fishing history and culture at nearby museums.
- Gift shops & local crafts – Browse unique handmade items and souvenirs in the area’s charming gift shops.
- Grocery store next door – Convenient access to fresh food and supplies.
There is no public transportation in the area, so having your own vehicle is helpful, but not necessary. We can assist with pickups and drop-offs when possible. Walking and biking are great ways to get around the village and explore nearby trails.A little more information
