  Description

  We live in a small village in Mesudiye on the beautiful Datca Pennisula, Turkey. We built our house ten years ago. We have four grown up children who are here when they can take holidays from their work and study in the UK.
  Our house is modern and guests will have a double room (with single or double bed) and access to bathroom used mainly by themselves We would only use it to access the washing machine.
  The village is surrounded by hills, pine trees and the beach is only 10-15 minutes walk away. It is a beautiful bay, which always has quiet spots even at the busiest times of the summer. There are other small bays within walking distance.
  The ancient ruin of Knidos can be visited either by boat trip or bus.
  The local town - Datca is 45 minutes away and can be reached using the regular local bus service. Datca has everything available - supermarkets, restaurants, bars , boat trips etc. It is a resort but has very few foreign tourists.
  Datca is famous for bringing good health, the climate is wonderful and fresh fruit and vegetables are in abundance. The local specialties are honey and almonds.

  Workaways will get some gardening experience, they will also learn something about the local plants and herbs and see the workings of a Turkish village.
  They will also get to eat locally grown produce and traditional Turkish recipies.

  Help

  The main tasks we need is weeding, replanting , pruning etc. Also daily watering if the garden - early morning and evening.
  Housework includes cleaning of our many windows inside and out, general housework - bathrooms, floor washing etc.
  As the weather is very hot at this time of year it is best to start work early each day and work for in the morning and then possibly an hour or so after 6pm.

  Ground floor Double bedroom which can be arranged as a double or two single beds.
  Access to bathroom for their own use ( expect when we need to use the washing machine).
  Three meals per day - usually vegetarian but may occasionally have fish or chicken. Food will be available for them to eat alone or to join us.
  Access to fruit, snacks, drinks at anytime.
  
  It is important to know that we are very close to the village mosque so you will regularly hear the 'call to prayer' 5 times per day, the last at around 9pm and once at dawn. . People get used to it and don't find it disturbing but you might want to travel with ear plugs!

  What else ...

  Spare time can be spent at the local quiet beaches, visiting Knidos the ancient ruin, going to Datca town to the restaurants, shops, bars, taking a boat trip.
  They can relax in the garden. We have many English novels available and some board games.
