Description
Greetings! I've been a resident of Chile since 1989, originally from Belgium, and I'm fluent in Flemish, Spanish, German, French, and English. Chile has truly become my home, alongside Belgium, for numerous reasons including family, the beauty of nature, and the dynamic daily life that offers endless opportunities for learning and experimentation.
Living here allows me to engage in various activities such as caring for chickens, dogs, and tending to fruits, vegetables, and making homemade jams. Sometimes, the tasks can feel overwhelming for one person, but I find joy in the diversity of experiences.
In addition to tending to the land and animals, I also have experience with maintenance tasks like painting walls, refurbishing outdoor furniture, and crafting new items from wooden pallets.
My journey to Chile began with my husband and three children, driven by our shared passion for community work. While my husband, a retired social worker, and I, a retired nurse, have dedicated our lives to service, we now seek enriching experiences through Workaway.
My past experiences with Workaway have been extraordinarily positive. I've enjoyed not only the assistance received but also the meaningful conversations and shared culinary experiences.

Olmué is a little rustic, turistic countrytown between Santiago and Viña del Mar and Valparaiso with a National Parc "La Capmana". Olmué is ideal for hicking and trekking.
There is a good public transport between Olmue and surroundings.

We are in need of assistance with:
- Gardening
- Painting
- Cleaning
- Assisting in the preparation of natural products such as jam, fruit juice, etc. - Tasks may vary depending on the season.
- Feeding and caring for our animals: Dogs, cats, and chickens
- Additional tasks as per the current needs - I only request what I am willing to do myself, but could use extra time and hands.
- Always on the lookout for creative projects to enhance the beauty of our environment.
- Knowledge of electricity and solar panels would be highly beneficial.
We are seeking a handy person who can assist with:
- General maintenance tasks
- Repairs around the property
- Basic carpentry work
- Handling small electrical tasks
- Other miscellaneous handyman duties as needed
If you have experience in these areas and are willing to lend a hand
We highly appreciate initiative and are looking for someone who takes proactive steps to identify and address tasks that need attention, is self-motivated and able to work independently.

Accommodation
- Private room for two people, with shared bathroom / 2 Independent singles of the same gender will have to share a room.
- Breakfast and lunch are included
- Dinner is shared, and everybody is supposed to do a collaboration
- The days off are according to your needs and program , when you stay home those days a collaboration for the meals is required

In addition to helping out with various tasks, there are plenty of opportunities to explore and unwind in our area. You can:
- Visit the city center
- Take trips to Valparaiso, Viña del Mar, or the Pacific coast
- Go for a hike to the top of Cerro La Campana
- Relax and chill by the pool during the summer months
- Enjoy some quiet time reading a book outdoors
- Play the guitar or engage in other outdoor activities
There's always something to do or see, and we encourage you to make the most of your time here while lending a hand around the property.
