Description
Little about myself: I have traveled to almost 90 countries. Lived in 5 different countries . Mostly in Central and South America.
In the center of Guanajuato, I purchased a home. This is part of the project to improve the community and house.
I believe in the power of community and helping the community where you live.
You would help with painting, taking care of the plants, cleaning, sweeping, walking the dog. There are community events like river clean up and mural painting. General items around the house.
I give space for creativity and risk taking. Volunteers have planted seeds for the garden, painted murals, painted wine bottles, and made food bowls for a pet organization I am part of.
We have 1-2 local staff at the guesthouse.
Workawayers will not be managing the guesthouse project.Under local staff manager Elisa and myself, will be manging the house. The primary tasks will be cleaning, gardening, and helping with the dog, Rio.

9am to- 1-2pm- 4-5 hours of volunteer work.
Access to downtown Guanajuato- 9 minute walk to centro historico of Guanajuato Plaza Allende.
No need for a car because almost everything is walkable or taking the bus.

Guanajuato is a beautiful city with endless attractions. There are cultural events going on each weekend and weekdays.

I spent almost a week at the "Home sweet Home" and the tasks were pretty easy like welcoming the guests, preparing the rooms, cleaning and watering the plants! When I arrived Sergio wasn't in town but he found the way to welcome me anyway! Overall my stay with Sergio was good!

Marc and Georgina were great workawayers. They helped out with gardening, with painting, organizing. They volunteered for a few days, they had to depart to Mexico City, but those two days- they were respectful and effective in the volunteer work. In addition, they painted the walls and were a joy to have in the house.

Sergio's place is next level. We felt right at home right away. We learned so much in so little time. He's trying to build a self sustainable place and we are sure it'll be amazing. Work was straight forward, and not demanding, we could learn many skills as well. I would recommend anyone to stay and we'll do it again in the future for sure.

Juan Alberto & Haruka were able to volunteer for a few days in my home. They painted walls of the house and did some cool art with glass bottles for future plants. They cooked a great meal too. They were respectful to the rules of the house.
