    Description

Hi my name is Andreas, and I am a worldtraveller myself who is in the process of creating a small paradise garden in my home town. It is located almost next to the fairytale castle Frederiksborg in the centre of Hillerød. I do not live in my garden, but I have two tiny houses on the lot, where I sometimes sleep, and where I can also host my workawayer(s).

I am a pianist and singer and make a living from playing concerts many different places. I also write my own music. Most of the concerts I play are with a friend of mine who is also a singer, and we have toured in 10 different countries playing feel-good pop, and I also have a lot of classical concerts with other musicians like flute players and violinists.

I love to welcome new visitors and make them feel welcome, which includes making food together, bonfire in the forest, bicycling, going to the beach etc.
I live in Hillerød, but 10 minutes drive away from the garden. My apartment is also nice, and that is where I have my piano, and where I sometimes can host people as well.

Of course you will not work alone, we will help each other, and I will share all my knowledge about gardening, cooking and building with you. There will both be times of working and times of relaxing. After all the garden is one of the most amazing places I know, and I often go there to get inspiration and to listen to the birds. Even though it is located very central in the city, you feel like you are in an almost secret and different world there.
We can also do language exchange or play some music together.

Please note that I get a lot of requests, so unfortunately I cannot say yes to you all. But if you tell me as exactly as possible which of my projects you feel experienced in, there is a greater chance we can make a deal. 😉
I have owned a garden in the middle of Hillerød next to Frederiksborg Castle for 10 years, and I have turned it from being useless to being a beautiful oasis with trees, bushes, crops, flowers and wildlife. There is a creek running through my garden, and last year I have begun planting plants along the banks and landscaping the creek area too. Even though I have already finished many projects, there is always a lot to be done still.

I have built two tiny houses on the land and also a wooden deck and tiled terrace as well as a green house. Another new project is to build a composting toilet.
Also I am in the process of building a new tiny house on the land, so right now I could use a carpenter and even an architect to help with the design.

Then of course there is the garden itself - which needs attention every day in order to get a good harvest of berries, salad, beans, herbs and so on.

Let me try to write a list of all the projects and types of help I could use you for:

    - Sowing, planting, watering

    - Sawing and chopping firewood

    - Moving heavy rocks and tiles

    - Painting my tiny houses

    - Cutting slugs at night

    - Building shelves in my shed and creating good systems for my tools

    - Laying bricks on some walkways

    - Driving around with me picking up materials for building and landscaping

    - Having "hygge" around the bonfire or eating grilled food together

    - Cooking and keeping the kitchen space and the houses clean

I have an extra bed in my apartment and I also have two beds in my garden houses, so it should not be difficult to host you. My idea is to have you for one to three weeks or so. But in some cases I host people for much longer as well. In my apartment you would be staying on a bed in my living room, so I cannot really provide you with your own room. In my garden each tiny house is like a separate room with a bed in each. There is no electricity in the garden - other than powerbanks and such, but in the near future there will be a solar powered system. Be prepared to be outside most of the time and to be living in a sort of primitive way. There is now wi-fi in the garden, but there are cafés with wi-fi less than 100 meters from the garden.
I share food with you, and being as I am a fitness lover I always have a lot of it! ;-)
We can take turns cooking, or doing it together.
I own several bicycles, so it should not be difficult for you to get around.

Frederiksborg Castle is the main tourist attraction of the area, and I can get you in for free there if you are interested. Some of the best things about the area are the forests that surround the city and possibilities of going bicycling in nature, or taking the car or train to the beaches. Also nearby is Louisiana - one of the most famous modern art museums in Denmark.
My everyday life consists of practicing music with different musicians. We either do that at my home or at their home. Most of the time I spend with the singer I work with. I go to Copenhagen once in a while and can take you along if you want to explore the city, otherwise it is just 40 minutes away by train.
