Description
Looking for an enriching experience in Italy?
My name is Barbara and I am 66 years of age.
I live in a house overlooking the southern side of the Berici Hills and I am just about to sell my cute, isolated farmhouse for the next 6 to 12 months. In the house where I live I can host a skilled single helper or couple to help decluttering, reorganizing and decorating, housekeeping, permaculture gardening and a little maintenance in the house if needed.
One thing I need to do asap: wall painting. I hope you can help.
Biodiversity is a must here and we grow our own vegetables and pick the edible herbs that grow on the property.
I live with 5 cats and about 15 chickens.
Among welcome skills, I'd love to host a good DIY "engineer" as soon as possible!
I generally eat simple local natural food, some of it is grown by me.
Though I am not vegan/vegetarian (I do eat meat but rarely) so if you are, please let me know beforehand as well as if you are allergic to anything.
I love to hear other people's stories and cultures and Ionly host helpers with references, travel insurance, photograph. They need to be clean, tidy, enthusiastic and polite and prepared to help Monday to Friday for about 4 to 5 non-continuous hours per day, including the time needed to clear the table and clean the kitchen after meals. So wakeup call will be at 7 or 8 depending if you need to exercise, walk or meditate we can discuss it when you are here.
On weekends everybody, including me, will be off duty from Friday evening and we are flexible in case you plan a full weekend away.
I am, and like, open minded people and polite smokers. We provide limited quantities of wine during meals and we do not provide hard liquors. Smoking, eating and alcohol drinking in the bedroom is not permitted.
We do not accept extra animals.
PS1: CITIZENSHIP RECOGNITION SEEKERS: Unfortunately due to the present situation and rules in the territory where I live, I can host for this purpose but I don't guarantee the public offices to be as you expect.
PS2: Due to some previous negative experiences, I do not take helpers without a feedback.
Ciao for now! BarbaraTypes of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I think travelers might benefit from our life experience, culture and the beauty of the territory where we live. Venice, Verona, Padova and of course Vicenza - the town of world famous Architect Andrea Palladio (Padova, novembre 30th 1508 – Maser, August 19 th 1580).
With their help I'd like to organize little cultural events in the spring/summer season.Help
My Eco life project requires maintenance, gardening and help in the house like help keep the house clean and tidy, wash dishes and leave the kitchen clean and tidy if I'm busy in other ways.
So the welcome skills are gardening, masonery, carpentry plus interior decoration and renovation ideas will be most welcome.
I take care of the animals and the vegetable garden, but I'm not very skilled in general construction and maintenance. So the more skills in that area the better.
This is an old house, difficult to keep very warm, so if you suffer cold, please be prepared with warm clothing. There are electric blankets that you'll switch off before you go to sleep.Languages

What else ...
Helpers can benefit from a very beautiful and cultural area, Vicenza (30 mins away by car) and the famous ancient Palladian Villas district, wonderful food and trekking area. Venice is about one hour away by train and Verona (Romeo and Juliet's true town) is a little more than half hour away. Padova and thermal centers are within 1 hours drive, walking experiences and lots going on in the whole Region starting with the spring throughout the fall.
In rare cases, we also take non helping guests. In that case I'll be charging 10€/day as costs contribution.
TRANSPORT: Helpers will be picked up and taken to/from the nearest railway or bus station on arrival/departure dates, if needed, for a 5€ contribution each trip. Except on Sundays (unfortunately!) you can count on public transport to and from Vicenza, stopping not far from our home quite frequently mornings and afternoons during the week. Extra lifts can be negotiated.A little more information
