Jon did an amazing job during his 3 weeks at our school. He spent most of his free time with the kids, and they really enjoyed having him around. He was always active and involved — playing sports, making music with the children, and helping out with rehearsals for our talent show. His positive attitude and energy made a big difference in our community. Overall, it was a great experience for all of us, and we are very thankful for everything Jon contributed during his time here. We would happily welcome him back again anytime!

My first Workaway experience at Corinne’s home was absolutely perfect. I still remember how warmly she welcomed me when I first arrived. The room I stayed in was so cozy, and the view of the beautiful garden outside the window was unforgettable. Every morning, opening the window and hearing the sound of the wind and birds made all the stress from city life disappear. During the two weeks I stayed there, my main task was repainting old chairs and benches. Corinne provided everything I needed for the work. Since I didn’t have a working visa, I only worked around 4–5 hours a day, and she always made sure I never worked too much or felt pressured. I also loved taking early morning walks around the vineyard with Squify. He is such a lovely dog, and those walks became some of my favorite memories. Corinne cooked delicious and healthy meals every day with so much care and kindness. I truly loved her food. I will never forget Hourqueyre. Thank you so much, Corinne.

It was an absolute pleasure hosting Nicolas! He completely spoiled and pampered us with some spectacular tarte tatins!! He was always super helpful with chores around the house and brought such a beautiful energy to our family. We’d be happy to host him again whenever he wants!

Lea stayed with us for five weeks and it was truly a wonderful experience having her here. She helped us a lot with construction work as well as in the kitchen, and she was always motivated, reliable, and happy to support wherever needed. Beyond her help, Lea is simply a very lovely person with a beautiful soul. Her positive energy and kind nature made a real difference in our everyday life, and we genuinely enjoyed spending time with her. She is also very loving and caring with animals, which we appreciated a lot. We would welcome her back anytime and can wholeheartedly recommend her to any future host. Thank you, Lea, for everything.

Thank you so much for supporting our school! They were very reliable, helpful they worked very hard with the classes and activities. our students really enjoyed spending time with them and quickly became attached to them. I really appreciated having Matteo and Giada and would be very happy to welcome them again anytime. We definitely recommend Matteo and Giada to other hosts!

Jess is a very lovely young lady. We absolutely enjoyed having her company! She is a hard worker, alway willing to help with the biggest smile. We had very interesting chats, enjoyed good food and the fire together. Jess cooked a delicious dessert! Jess was also beautiful with our dod and cat, so important for us! Jess joined us at a few activities on the island, which we always love. It's great to share the community with the workdays.

Mattia is a nice, quiet and trustworthy person! Would highly recommend him.

Jasmin and Stefan were a pleasure to work with. Always available, conscientious, and an excellent attitude. I was really impressed with their willingness to get their hands dirty and try all sorts of new things. I’d have no hesitation in recommending them to other hosts. Thanks again guys 🙏🙏

San Gimignano : la dolce vita n’est pas un mythe. Presque. San Gimignano se voit de loin, se vit de près, se ressent longtemps et se regrette au départ. Le jour, elle subit les foules. La nuit, elle vous appartient. Certains endroits visitent ceux qui les visitent. C’en est un. À la paroisse, Don Gianni n’est pas un homme ordinaire. Généreux, convaincu, profondément engagé auprès des siens — les jeunes de San Gimignano ont en lui un défenseur que peu méritent d’avoir. On ne peut que le respecter pour cela. Cela dit — et c’est ici que l’honnêteté oblige — vivre à la paroisse, c’est vivre dans l’orbite d’un soleil. Chaleureux parfois, certes. Mais un soleil qui brûle aussi, sans toujours le savoir. Son rythme, ses règles, ses humeurs : parfois solaires, parfois orageuses. Pour qui sait plier sans se briser, l’expérience est précieuse. Pour les autres, et ils sont quelques-uns, elle laisse des traces que le paysage toscan ne suffit pas à effacer. Le comble, d’ailleurs, est précisément là : c’est ce décor sublime qui rend l’épuisement intérieur si difficile à nommer. On n’ose pas se plaindre quand la Toscane est à sa fenêtre. Quant à Workaway, il veille sur ses volontaires avec le soin attentif d’un berger qui aurait confié ses moutons aux loups. L’hôte exhibe les avis positifs, fixe les règles, obtient beaucoup — et fournit l’essentiel : un toit, une assiette, et la bonne conscience d’avoir tout donné. Le reste n’est que détail. Et les détails, ici, ne s’affichent pas. Venez à San Gimignano — absolument. Venez à la paroisse — l’âme solide, les défenses hautes. Les plus belles cages ont toujours été dorées. Don Gianni fait de son mieux. Vous aussi. Espérons simplement que vous ayez été élevés dans la même école — celle où l’on apprend, très tôt, à trouver la liberté dans l’obéissance.

J'ai eu la chance de tomber sur cette famille pour mon premier séjour en France avec Workaway. Je n'ai que de bonnes choses à dire sur Christophe, Aurélie, Nicolas et Arthur! Ils étaient tellement accueillants dès mon arrivée et ils ont partagé leur vie quotidienne avec gentillesse et chaleur. Les enfants vous mettent immédiatement à l'aise et sont bien élevés, intelligents, très créatifs et mignons. Pendant mon séjour j'ai eu la chance d'améliorer beaucoup mon français grâce aux enfants qui m'ont gentiment corrigée quand je faisais des erreurs, et surtout grâce à Aurélie et Christophe, qui ont été une énorme aide et avec qui je pouvais parler de plein de choses, et qui m'ont corrigée et expliqué les nouvelles choses françaises. Je suis allée en France pour une immersion dans la vie quotidienne française et je suis repartie avec tellement plus. Je ne peux pas assez remercier la famille pour leur chaleur, leur aide, et les bons moments passés en France grâce à eux!

We spent 2 wonderful months here. Annette and Wolfgang were so warm and welcoming to us. They made us feel at ease straight away. The work varied such as pruning olive trees to painting garden furniture to weeding and taking care of there organic farm to repairing the road. There daughter Aroara made amazing daily lunches with her boyfriend for us and we swapped fun and interesting stories plus they were always informative and great fun to have around. We received local info to festival and activities in the area as well has transport advice. Jhon and Roselle were so easy to work with and by the time we finished our stay here we felt part of the family. We would definitely recommend working here.

Lauren and Trent. A wonderful couple who came to stay at the very start of their travels. It never ceases to amaze me how great people who come to stay are and how happy they are to work so very hard and throw themselves into whatever needs to be done. These two guys did everything I asked of them and more. Trent is a demon with the strimmer. He cut the grass with expertise and speed. He has a huge amount of knowledge about equipment and was happy to teach and help the other guys with the best way to use this piece of kit. Thank you Trent. He also attacked my brambles and the land is clear and fabulous. Lauren was the same, just brilliant, clearing the boundary wall, weeding, bonfires and the never ending brambles. She also did a mountain of strimming, which looks fabulous. Then the woodpile cutting a stacking my winter wood. I simply cannot express my thanks enough. Great to meet you both and share some special times.

Thank you very much to Alessandra and her family for welcoming me in their beekeeping farm and so much more! I had the chance to stay in a beautiful lodge with a circular bedroom, so I could enjoy delicious meals prepared by Giuliana, as well as cooking on my own. Alessandra and the help that she needs is as she described it on her profile. I spent almost 3 weeks there in May, the season of religious ceremonies, so we prepared many gift boxes with her quality products such as honeypots, candels, etc. and I also give a hand with weeding, collecting mulberries and so many other activities. She has a multifaceted job and you can learn from how to prepare seed balls with wet paper, to facilitate workshops for kids (on vegetable dyeing, for instance), to sell products at a festival or local market, to grow flowers, plants, trees and vegetables... I was glad to work with her, sometimes with another person and other times on my own (thank you Matilde, it was a pleasure to share times with you!) I'd like to thank her as well and her family to lending me a bike or drive me to the beaufitul villages around.

Brielle was a treasure. Willing to tackle tasks with gusto and contribute to the team. Brielle was easy going, honest and fun loving and we enjoyed having her in our home.

Lochlan arrived with a smile on his face and I'm pretty sure I didn't ever see him not smiling the whole time he stayed. He has a great attitude and always offers to help if he is around. He did lots of strimming, not his favourite task, but he got on with it and did a great job. Plus digging out a hole to sink a pipe (not the most pleasant task) and cleared under my Christmas tree. He then got hold of my woodpile and his determination to clear it and cut all the wood was awesome. Just superb. Thank you again Lochlan, it was a pleasure to meet and spend time with you.

Ron is perfect volonter if you really need help. Very amazing person with a lot of knowledge in all maintenece work,alos very organize and tidy.perfect on the reception with the quest and the best in cleaning. Thanks for your big help and you are always wellcome in Ohrid. We Miss youu...

Mike and Billy were wonderful hosts. Mike is very kind, helpful, welcoming, accommodating, and communicative. I also felt really safe here and loved having other travelers to work beside! The property is large containing many local plants, gardens, fruit trees, and pathways so there is always something to be done. Throughout my time here, I participated in a range of tasks, each one broadening my knowledge of the local ecosystem. This included planting, weeding, pruning, clearing paths, laying down mulch, and organizing tools. I would definitely recommend this workaway. Thanks Mike!

I couldn't have wished for a better experience! I got to stay for nearly two weeks with François and Laurence and was quickly made to feel right at home. I went with the aim to improve my French through an immersion into a French household and lifestyle and got just that - plus wonderful food, an exchange of cultures, experiences and knowledge, and a new perspective on gardening. Laurence and François are incredibly kind and welcoming. They ensured a good balance between work in the garden and time free to spend in the house or their lovely garden how I liked. They were incredibly open minded and accommodating considering my vegan lifestyle, welcoming me into their household and lives openly and ensuring I had more than enough to eat at every meal during my stay. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of their quiet daily life for a while, and I would encourage anyone looking for an exchange of language, cultures, stories, or simply peace of mind to pay them a visit :)
