Hi,
We are running Hostel and Resort in Langkawi Island. We are looking for someone especially is full time traveler who could help us in the front desk reception, housekeeping, basic cleaning of daily routine tasks .Thus, you could stay here for free, and you may get to know new friends that from different countries.
Are you a citizen of the world? Are you looking for a place to meet other fellow travelers? Then this is your call! Come on board and share your stories, talents and passions. We are trying to build a welcoming community for travelers to enjoy a home away from home.

You will learn about the local lifestyle and the Asian cultures, get to know my guest house guests from all over the world.
Although English is the main language spoken, our multi national/ cultural guests provide helpers with a great opportunity to improve and develop their language skills and learn about the cultures of other nations.
I would like to share with you my experience and also would like to learn from you throughout your travel history.
Besides, you got the chance to explore the beauty of Langkawi island.
Help
First of all, you should know that this is not a job opportunity, instead, we welcome you as an active member of our family!
We prefer it if you stay for at least 2 weeks. That allows us to get to know each other and make this experience not only about the help but also about the cultural exchange, making it more meaningful. It is very important for us that you have the chance to immerse yourself in the day to day of our beloved project. We are a small guesthouse with 10 rooms only and we have 2-3 permanent staff depending on the season. if you have only a month for travelling, we would not encourage instead you should have fun travelling and this is from the experience of many 'no show', it affects our schedule. It's a non-paid exchange, but during your volunteering hours, please do your duties responsibly. (Previously we have received some exchange helpers who just want to sit down and relax/take it easy and do nothing.).
We want our volunteers to enjoy their stay with us, learn something as well (local culture and how to run the hostel, etc.), Therefore, we would appreciate, respect and reliability. But you will also have plenty of time to go explore and discover the region.
We are looking for vibrant people than can help us create an awesome and interactive environment. Some of the things we need help with are:
- Reception (Checking guests in/out, managing bookings & emails)
- Housekeeping
- Laundry service
- Paintwork / Mural design
- Marketing / Social Media
- Small renovation help
- Organizing events
- Musicians
- Performance Artists
And even though we have a list of ideas we'd like to make happen, we are always open to suggestions and we encourage you to have initiative and bring your flair to our nest!
We don't mind couples, but some of the activities require only one person, so we hope you don't mind being split up.

Accommodation
We require 5 hours a day/5 days a week/ minimum 2 week of help in exchange.
You will have a bed in our cozy dormitory with our guests. Our hostel is very quiet after midnight.
We do also provide free WiFi,free drinking water.
- Accommodation in one of our cozy dormitory with a shared bathroom/shower.
- Small Pantry to prepare your own breakfast (cereal , toaster)
- Free drinking water.
- Wifi all over the hostel.
- Two free days for every week of work.
What else ...
During time off, helpers are able to explore the island. Langkawi is a well known holiday destination in Malaysia, an archipelago of 99 islands at the edge of the Andaman Sea, 60 SM north of Penang. A substantial part of the island is covered with virgin rainforest, good for jungle trekking and bird watching: eagles and hornbills are abundant. Watersport (exept for diving or snorkeling), kayaking, bike riding. You can explore the island with a rented motorbike or just relax in a tropical environment. Quite frequently we see groups of dolphins, even in harbour.
