Hello👋
As I travel I'll be happy to volunteer for tasks including (but not limited to) gardening, teaching English, help around home/guesthouse such as cooking, check-in, social media posts. -
Description
I'm from India and an engineering graduate who have lived and worked in India and Qatar. In 2024, I moved to UK and I completed my one years full-time Master’s from University of Edinburgh, UK. I am now on career-break and travelling solo.
I’m motivated by meaningful connections, learning from different cultures, and contributing in ways that create a positive impact. Traveling is a big source of joy for me—it opens the door to new experiences, fresh perspectives, and opportunities to grow.
I find happiness in simple things: sharing stories, working together, learning new skills, and enjoying nature. What I love most about traveling is not just discovering new places, but also connecting with people, exchanging knowledge and building lasting memories. Workaway has really helped me to explore new dimensions as I travel. I have volunteered at a Park4night camp in Morocco, helped with home schooling kids in Egypt and helped with reception/housekeeping tasks for a hostels in Srilanka & Malaysia. My profile has video of my first experience as Workawayer in Morocco during Dec 2025; which involved farm-stay & help, check-in & out guests, feeding animals (chickens & dog) and maintaining the facilities (restaurant, toilets and common areas).
As I travel and explore more places, I would love to be a Workawayer and I would be happy to connect to you 😊.
I know that a HUGE part of volunteering & connecting to the host is TRUST, so please feel free to find me on Instagram @sandy_yaah, if this helps you get to know me a little more about me 🫶. -

More details about your skills
I am an engineering graduate with experience working in India and Qatar, and I recently completed my master’s degree in the UK. My corporate background as a consultant has given me solid office and administrative skills, while my retail experience at till points has equipped me to handle reception duties confidently, supported by strong communication skills. I am also comfortable teaching English, as it has been my primary language throughout school, university, and my professional career. In addition, I have worked part-time as a social carer and nanny.
I am an active person who enjoys running, working out, and trekking—I’ve even summited Mount Kilimanjaro. I’d be happy to contribute to outdoor activities. I also love cooking, particularly Indian cuisine (yes, I can make biryani!), and I can prepare pasta, noodles, and other dishes if I have the recipe and ingredients. At home, I take pride in keeping my space tidy, and I’d be glad to help with cleaning and organizing. Although living in metropolitan cities has limited my chance to garden, I’m very interested in it and would love to contribute to planting and gardening tasks.
Travel is one of my biggest passions—I’ve explored 18 countries as a solo traveler. These experiences have not only broadened my perspective but also strengthened my social skills, allowing me to connect easily with locals and fellow travelers, many of whom I still stay in touch with. For me, solo travel has always been more than just adventure—it has been a journey of personal and mental growth. I am excited to explore Workaway as an opportunity to embrace cultural exchange and enjoy more freedom while learning and contributing. -
