This was my first Workaway experience and it was truly great! Jean-Luc has already hosted many volunteers and done lots of Workaways himself too. So it was very easy to share life for a short time together and learn from his knowledge about renovating the farmhouse. He explained on how to put the tiles in the bathroom and let us then manage by ourselves. Something I had actually always wanted to learn :) The life at the farm was very relaxed. Things are a bit slower at the countryside which helped to calm down. We cooked together for lunch and I even learned some new recipes – thanks! It was also nice to move to the villages around to see the region. Jean-Luc is always open to new ideas about creating things at the farm and doing spontaneous activities. Thanks so much for hosting us at your peaceful place.

Olivia! Thanks again for hosting me during this time. Despite the gloomy weather we found time to plant, trim, propagate, and when the sun came out to plaster the kitchen walls. Thank you for trusting me to be part of your beautiful project it was a lovely experience. Especially your sharing of your love and knowledge of the garden, enjoying the workflow under the sun, musical evenings, and admiring your artistic side 🥰☀️ With solo time your land is peaceful and beautifully green after the rains, located in a lovely area for walks to the beach, and has a wonderful sunset view to enjoy each evening. Grateful for these past two weeks, feeling grounded and recharged 🙏🙏🤗

A very nice smile shown and kind with positive energy is what I would express about Darina. She is able to win my daughters heart and also get along so well with my neighbors. Although it's only a short time stay but she has been so much helping with sharing her English. Our home at Pangkep, Indonesia will always welcome her anytime. We had a great experience with this workaway. We had an amazing welcoming from Fabio et Judit, we really felt that they were happy to have us there and they are really taking care of the volunteers (thanks again !!). The masseria (farm) is surrounded by the nature, it is so beautiful ! You can run or take the bicycles to visit. These project is really interesting and we were really happy to help a little bit. We definitely could have staying more...maybe we will be back one day ;) Well, if you are looking for a meaningful project, if you want to be into nature, peaceful place with lovely dogs, this is a great place.

The place was everything and more. I had the pleasure of working with a great group of thoughtful and hardworking individuals. I loved living here. I liked having two cats on my bed at all times and I relished being able to spend time with the kittens when I wasn't working. The work was rewarding and the schedule was concise. I was able to gain a lot of expertise from the volunteer vet and the trainings too. I don't think this will be the last time I volunteer here, I know I will be back! I extend a big thanks to Gillian who makes this all possible-- what an honor it was to stay and work here. Thank you for everything.

Sasha is a very warm and welcoming person who I greatly enjoyed volunteering and staying with. He immediately welcomed us into his house and made us feel right at home. The work is very relaxed and he only expects a couple hours a day leaving you with more than enough time to explore Pai as well as rent motos from him. The housing he provided came with amazing golden sundet views of Pai with an open air concept that makes you feel very connected to the surrounding nature. This has been one of my favorite experiences in Thailand and if i find myself in the area in the future I will be staying with him. Thanks for everything Sasha!

For me, this was an important stay. That went further then just work, it was my first Workaway wheresides I use another platform in the past. I saw in areas where I had to improve due too lack of organisation and obersvation skills. She stimulated and informem me to be me more observative of the environment and focusing on the details, while using day-to-day duties/tasks as meditation. Shelley and her husband are loving people with their hearts on the right place. I also didn't came good prepared after making miscalculations of the weather here in Portugal. They accommedated for me in that respect, to make sure I had the right clothes in and for outside, cause also in the house it was very cold. Like you could see your own breath by breathing. There was a room where you can get anytime by the fire to warm up. Her husband was there most of thetime with the cat, but he is most of the time quiet and bothers nobody. 2 times a week there are cleaners in the house to change the bedsheet and tidy up the room. That was also helpful. Shelley and her husband are both amazing Cooks and I loved almost all meals. She makes sure you always have enough food and nourishment. Her some ofher cakes where honestly one of the best cakes I have eaten in my life and I normally don't really like cakes besides the caribbean one. I don't figured out if somewhere I made her think of her son, but honestly shegives the feeling of a Mother and she reminded me of my family. We had our difficulties, miscommunications or maybe some other irritations. At the end it was Love and we both had a great talk in my opinion where we could listen to eachothers point of view and grow from it. I am thank full. 13Love Shelley amd Bruno

It was wonderful to have Sakeenahe stay with us. Her interest in art suited our organisation. We had a lot of interesting conversations. Sakeenahe bonded well with the other volunteers in the house and added to the bubbly atmosphere created by all. She was very helpful and always willing to help. Her tasks included replanting vegetable beds, painting ceilings and walls, cooking, shopping and general house work. Thank you Sakeenahe for all your help. We would recommend Sakeenahe to everyone.

It was a pleasure to have Lea stay with us. She is very friendly, helpful, kind and funny. She easily bonded with the other volunteers in the house and added a great atmosphere. Her tasks included replanting vegetable beds, painting, cooking and general house work. Lea was very willing to help and her enthusiasm was appreciated. We would recommend Lea to everyone. She was always full of chat and joy.

It took me a while to find out what their project was about exactly, and it turned out that hey mainly needed me as a Violinst for their event in the fields. That place was so beautiful! There were already like 6 other volunteers so I had a very relaxed time. It was a big gathering with lots of music and dance , meditation, food, (and drinks for some🤪) people stayed over in tents. Rani and Febri are great people with a broad, interest and are open-minded. Afterwards they arranged a palace for me alone and we even had a gig and made a studio recording of one of Febri's own songs. I would definitely go again! Big adventure!

We spent three weeks with Milena and Paula at our human–animal family house in Istanbul. We have seven dogs and five cats, and they were absolutely amazing with the animals. They adapted to the rhythm of the house very quickly and helped us a lot, mainly with dog walking. Our dogs are large and all adopted from the street. Milena and Paula have a big heart for animals; they are smart, responsible, and took full responsibility with confidence. It was a pleasure to spend time together over dinners and city walks. We would be very happy to meet again.

Jonna is a very helpful, friendly, kind and talented person. She was so helpful and very willing to take on any task. She helped us with replanting vegetable beds, painting and cooking. We loved hearing about Jonna's puppetry internship which she went on to do after staying with us. We would recommend Jonna to everyone. She is very easy and interesting to talk to.

If you're looking for help,Paola is fantastic. She’s much more than just a helper; she’s a proactive problem-solver. She actually took the initiative to do a pre-visit to make sure the job was clear, which I really appreciated. Beyond being a hard worker, she is lovely to chat with and very easy-going. No matter what the situation, she is smiling. It makes having someone in your home or garden a really pleasant experience!

I spent a wonderful few weeks staying with Liz and Scott on beautiful Kangaroo Island and really didn't want to leave. They were incredibly welcoming and friendly and full of interesting chat. I helped mainly with a general maintenance and gardening, with plenty of time to see the sights of the island and join them on any excursions. The surroundings of the property were so calming and pristine, with plenty of kangaroos and wallabies hopping around. Would highly recommend this experience to anyone!

I had such an amazing time with Brenda & Manuel ! They were very helpful with the garden, the vegetable patch, reapering & reorganising stuff inside the house and even cooking great meals ! They had great ideas to improve the place and took initiative as they understood very quickly how I and the place was working. They did way more that I could expect or imagine ! Kind, generous and thoughtful, they brought a lot of sweetness to those days. I had a lot of fun discovering Argentinian food and music, sharing evening talkings, playing games and I was glad to include theme with my friends ! Openminded, they know a looot of things, and are very inspiring ! My animals also loved spending time with them :) Know that if they are coming to volunteer at your place, you are some lucky people to have them around and that it's heartbreaking to let them leave after ! Thank you for the great times, mi casa es tu casa and I hope to see you guys soon (babe is waiting for you) !!

Soul stayed with us about 4 weeks and it was wonderful to have her here for helping. Fast learner and always willing to do something. She was able to work independent and she was well with all the animals. A really curious young woman with a lot of power and interests. And she has a wonderful english pronunciation. If she used the vacuum cleaner, the whole flat was clean, really clean, wonderful. Thank you for that and all the other helping. Soul, you are always welcome. It was a pleasure to have you here. It was a pleasure to have Ciara stay with us. Ciara was always so willing to help.Her attention to detail and enthusiasm were noticed. She has a great sense of humour, very easy to get along with and engages in interesting conversation. She helped us to replant garden beds, paint walls and ceilings in the house and helped to cook dinner in the evenings. Ciara was a delight to have around and we would recommend her to everyone!

Leonie has been a wonderful volunteer. Always smiling, very willing to help and extremely polite. She is sweet, proactive and truly lovely to be around. It was a real pleasure working with her. It’s a shame she could only stay for two weeks, we would have wanted her around much longer because she’s definitely a 10/10 volunteer. We would highly recommend her.

Anna was a fast learner with a can do attitude, good at manual tasks & handled a lot of mulching which was hard work on a sloping block. She took the initiative to do a little Housework & was very good at orgonising/cleaning spaces. She was happy working on trestles at Pete my partners place cleaning the house & picked up good skills painting & was generally easy to have around

I stayed one month at this workaway. I was teaching English only from Friday till Sunday, which was nice because I was able to make trips to Pai and other places. Before I started the teaching, I was afraid of not knowing what to do, but it's all super clear and you get a lesson plan that is very useful. The kids in the school are super cute and most of them are motivated to learn English. Sometimes it was a bit hard when you're alone in class with a lot of children, but you can always tell Jin and she will help you or change something. Jin is organizing a lot of trips, like hikes, where you can join in your free time. In the house, Jin has a lot of rules and is pretty strict about them, which made me feel a bit stressed in the beginning, but you get used to it and maybe that's necessary when so many different people come and go there. All in all, it was a really good experience and I feel like I learned so much. Thank you for that experience!
