What a great Workaway! I stayed with Bill and Jessica for two weeks. This place was actually the reason I came to Ecuador (and South America in general); I’m a barista and wanted to learn more about coffee at origin. So I came in with pretty high expectations - and they were absolutely met. The work was light and enjoyable. I was there in low season, so I imagine it can get a bit busier, but also more satisfying with more ripe coffee to pick. What I really appreciated was the trust Bill had in my work. I could start earlier or later depending on how I felt, and no one was micromanaging. It felt like it was just me and the coffee, doing my own thing. I really liked that autonomy. Processing the coffee yourself is a pretty amazing experience, especially if you’ve only learned about it in theory before. Bill and Jessica are easy to communicate with - very warm and genuine people. They clearly care about their workawayers having a good experience and are excited to share their knowledge. At the same time, they really respect your space, which makes the whole experience feel comfortable. The accommodation is great: you have a separate house with a fully equipped kitchen, which gives you a lot of independence. You also get loads of fruits and vegetables, and I had a lot of fun experimenting with ingredients I’d never usually cook with. I normally look for Workaways with more volunteers, but I actually really enjoyed the quieter setup. It gave my free time a calmer, more mindful feel, which I didn’t expect but ended up valuing a lot. And the area is beautiful! Definitely go for a hike up one of the nearby hills - it’s so fun. I’m really grateful for this experience. I know I’ll look back on these memories a lot, and they’ll always make me smile. Thank you, Bill and Jessica!

Gabrielle and Steve’s place is a little piece of paradise. It was so lovely to do my first work away experience in this picturesque spot. Gabrielle is passionate and knowledgeable about all things plants and she likes to share this. Steve is a fantastic chef/cook, which is so inspiring. The food is soooo yummy. Work was either in the garden or home, which was well explained. Thank you for having me.

Great couple! Easy going. No task was a chore. Helped in garden, painted windows, fixed my bike, did childcare, walked our cat, +++ Would definitely recommend them for hosting.

Eddy was a great volunteer and brought a very positive and calming energy to the house throughout his stay. He is social, easy to communicate with, and naturally connected with both guests and the team. During his 7 days at the hotel, Eddy contributed by offering daily yoga classes, which were highly appreciated by the guests and added real value to their overall experience. His presence helped create a relaxed, welcoming, and balanced atmosphere within the space. Beyond the classes, Eddy consistently contributed to the good vibe of engaging with guests and helping foster a warm and friendly environment. Reliable, proactive, and genuinely positive, he was a real asset during his stay and would be welcome back anytime.

Katie is a very kind, thoughtful and helpful person. She was such a good help for me with guests, cleaning, gardening and basically any tasks that needed attention. She got on very well with guests and our workers, had a big smile on her face and always something kind to say. What I loved also, that she saw what needed to be done and did many beautiful things independently. Any host would be lucky to have her.

Supporting this beautiful community in Rincón del Mar was my first Workaway experience. It couldn't have been better! Dania, Carmen, and Danielle, along with the entire team that continues to support this project, are incredibly dedicated, kind, and wonderful people. During my volunteer time, I can help develop evaluation tools and contribute to the project that empowers young people to pursue higher education. It was a pleasure to contribute to this monumental work they do. During my visit, I also had the opportunity to learn about the area and explore several ecotourism options that shows the region's diverse environment. It was an unforgettable experience. The restaurant's cuisine is a real treat. Thank you so much for hosting me.

We had an amazing experience at this hotel in Uvita. We stayed for one month as a couple, and honestly, it was one of our best experiences. The work mainly consisted of reception tasks, with a few small duties in the morning like cleaning the pool or helping around the property. Everything matched the description, and it was even easier than we expected. The schedule was very fair (around 8:00 am to 1:30 pm, five days a week), always well organized and respected. The accommodation was great. We had a spacious and comfortable room with air conditioning, a well-equipped kitchen, a desk, and good Wi-Fi. The whole place is very well maintained. The hotel itself is also amazing, with a beautiful pool, shared areas like ping-pong and chess, bikes available, and a very relaxing atmosphere. The location is simply incredible. The beach is just a short walk away and is honestly one of the most beautiful we’ve ever seen. Uvita is a lovely, peaceful village with everything you need. A big thank you to the staff, especially the managers Nata and Ovi, who were incredibly kind, welcoming, and easy to communicate with. More generally, everyone we met there was wonderful, from the staff to the owners, always friendly, warm, and helpful. We felt comfortable from day one. Overall, this was a truly great experience. We feel very lucky to have been part of this place and to have met such kind people. We would absolutely recommend this Workaway to anyone looking for a well-organized, enjoyable, and peaceful volunteering experience in a stunning environment. If we have the chance, we would definitely come back!

I was just here for a jam session since our agenda's unfortunately didn't meet up to stay to help out, if I could then I would cause they have very interesting projects going on! Nevertheless, they welcomed me warmly and showed great hospitality. The communication was clear and honest, beforehand and during my stay. I recommend this lovely family. :)

Staying with Giorgia was one of the best experiences I've ever had on Workaway: when she says "You're welcome at my place", she really means it! I stayed with her for a week, helping with gardening and other minor tasks around the house, which felt more than fair. Besides having my own room with a private bathroom, I had full access to the kitchen and common areas, and she was kind enough to let me borrow a bike to explore the city. What made my stay really great, though, was Giorgia's care and hospitality, as she went above and beyond my expectations despite working full-time: her cooking was delicious (I might even say addictive!), and she always made sure I was comfortable, making me feel at home (and pampered) at all times. Giorgia helped me appreciate the city by taking the time to show me around, and she also made special arrangements for my birthday along with her brother, even giving me a card she made herself. Together we shared stories, meals, aperitivos, and walks: she's an incredible person, and I find her outlook on life very inspiring. In a nutshell, my stay was amazing and enriching, a breath of fresh air, and honestly, I wish it had been a bit longer. Giorgia, I can't thank you enough for hosting me at your place! I hope our paths will cross again!

Katerina and Veronica are both very sweet and funny girls with a great work ethic. They both speak fluent Spanish and made friends with the workers and neighbors. We really hope they come back to visit one day!

I have had the most amazing, welcoming, loving experience with Viki and her almost 4 year old Lai. For the past 3 months, I have woken up in the mountains, eating delicious, healthy food, and been embraced with love by this Mallorcan family. Lai is such a silly, happy boy who loves to play and dance :) Viki is super flexible with my schedule and always so understanding. I help a little in the morning with breakfast and a little tyding. In the evenings I get to spend time with Lai climbing trees, picking oranges, searching for donkeys around their farm. Our dinners have been full of laughter and silly stories :) I only have a few days left and am sad to leave. I feel so connected and a part of this family. You would be so lucky to experience Mallorcan life staying with them. Muchos besos :) 🥰🥰

I feel incredibly lucky to have experienced being a counselor here this past summer. It was my first Workaway and solo-travel experience, and it was a truly wonderful time! I was a bit shy at first, but I quickly felt valued and comfortable within the camp. I built meaningful friendships and learned a lot, not just about working with children, but in general about myself. What stood out most to me was how welcoming and kind Carlotta and Betta were. Carlotta is someone you can be open and vulnerable with. The way she spoke to the children and handled their needs was inspiring. Betta kindly welcomed us to her apartment on weekends. Both were incredible leaders to both the campers and counselors. The children were sweet, hilarious, and energetic. As counselors we helped the children with their English projects, played outdoor games with them, and took care of morning and bedtime routines. We were outdoors everyday and most days we would do a hike/long walk. The rifugio was a tranquil and comfortable place to stay, and we had the most beautiful landscape surrounding us. This experience was absolutely worth it, and I would love to come back or visit again in the future. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys nature, working with children, and being part of this supportive group. Thank you, Carlotta and Betta :)

The stay at Ed and Claire's was absolute perfect and lovely. Ed and Claire are the nicest people ever and the food is absolute amazing, every meal is like a christmas meal.. thanks! You have time for yourself, but also plenty of time to play games (sorry for al our wins), play petanque in the village or you are invited to sunday meetings with neighbours. A perfect way to get to know the surroundings. And not to forget about the adorable Jojo, who likes cuddles, attention and is always in for a long walk or run. The guesthouse is perfect and you have all the privacy you want. We did all kind of chores; painting, gardening, reconstructioning a shed and stairs and loads of gardening. They let you do it on your own and trust you with that. Thank you so much for the wonderfull stay, we miss you already and would highly recommend you!

Wow! She's a keeper. I wish she didn't leave! Good with gardening, even greater with power tools! Reliable, responsable, and respectful. You couldn't ask for a better volunteer. She gets along with all the other volunteers. You're always welcome back. Good luck.

It was such a pleasure staying at Casa Anna! Anna and Steve are the kindest, most hospitable people! As soon as I arrived I felt incredibly welcomed. The property is beautiful and the dogs and cats made it even better :) I only spent two weeks, but I wish I could have stayed for longer! This was only my second Workaway, but it was definitely the best! Anna was very flexible with scheduling as long as you complete your 20 hours each week. The work varied from gardening tasks to art and home improvement. If you express interest in something specific, Anna will find something you enjoy! I miss it already!!

We had the pleasure of hosting Adrien. He consistently demonstrated a positive attitude toward work and a genuine eagerness to learn new skills. Adrien has a wealth of knowledge to share about the world. He helped us with cooking and cleaning, proving himself to be a reliable volunteer and a joy to have around. We'd be happy to host him again! Thank you Workaway.
