We really liked our experience at Ricardo's place! He is a caring person, He's always in a good mood and always wants to spend quality time with his volunteers. Also, he leaves us a lot of liberty in the projects that we want to do. For example, he didn't have a project for a garden but we proposed to him to do one and he was very enthusiastic about our idea. He helped us with some ideas and he got us all the material we needed. The environment is very fun to work at since it is in the beautiful jungle and Ricardo is always playing some good music for everyone to be in a good mood. Ricardo even invited us at his social events with his friends! We got to learn salsa and to do mayan canoe. We really had a blast, thank you Ricardo!

Emily — Front of House Emily joined us for a full season and was an absolute asset from day one. As our front of house, she was the face of the chalet — warm, welcoming, and consistently brilliant with guests. No request was too much trouble, and she had a natural ability to make everyone feel at home from the moment they arrived. Beyond her guest-facing work, Emily brought a positive attitude to everything she did and was completely reliable throughout the season. She went above and beyond time and again without ever being asked. Any host would be lucky to have her — we'd welcome her back in a heartbeat. Mike — Snow Ops & Maintenance Mike worked with us for a full season handling snow operations and maintenance, and he was outstanding in every respect. He kept everything running smoothly behind the scenes — no small feat in a mountain environment where conditions can change quickly and things inevitably need fixing. Hardworking and dependable, Mike got on with the job without fuss and always went the extra mile when it counted. His positive attitude made him a genuine pleasure to have as part of the team, and guests benefited from his work even if they never knew it. We couldn't recommend him more highly.

Freddie is a very sociable and modest person. He helped us teach French to children and teenagers at the center. He was always friendly and had a good connection with the students. He also helped at home with the other volunteers, especially with cooking and doing the dishes, which we really appreciated. Freddie was respectful and easy to live with. I highly recommend him to other hosts.

Your help on the farm was very appreciated, and you always had a great attitude with every task, even the ones that involved getting a little dirty. It was really nice sharing this time with you, the conversations, the meals, and the daily life on the farm. You were always open to any task and approached everything with a positive attitude, which makes a big difference in farm life. Nous sommes restés 3 semaines chez Teiki et cela s’est très bien passé! Nous avons principalement aidé à faire des petits travaux de construction et de peinture, et nous sommes allés dans la brousse. Teiki s’est montré accueillant et bienveillant envers nous, nous avons partagé beaucoup de moments ensemble. Merci Teiki pour ces 3 semaines passées ensemble, et de nous avoir permis de découvrir Nuku Hiva de manière authentique !😀

I had a wonderful time staying with Sharyn and David in their lovely home, they were the perfect hosts for my first workaway. They were always very helpful, giving me lifts to places and providing tasty meals. The caravan was very cosy and it was really nice to have my own place after staying in hostels for 2 months. Finally, I have to mention the brilliant location and the grandkids who rounded up a great stay.

It was truly a pleasure having you both here. Your help on the farm was very valuable, and I really appreciated your positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the daily work. Beyond the work, your company made everything very enjoyable and easygoing. It was wonderful sharing meals, conversations, and moments around the farm together. I also loved how open you were to learning about and experiencing the culture of my country. You are always welcome back here anytime. Motte, was a wonderful workawayer who carried out every task requested. We loved the evening chats and loved the cooking she did for our evening dinners. Painting , gardening and land clearing was all done with a smile. We highly recommend Motte to any host and wish her all the best with her travels.

Pasamos 6 semanas perfectas con David y Alex en la finca. Estuvimos haciendo un trabajo super interesante - principalmente bajando café - aprendiendo todo el proceso y trabajo que se lleva al cabo para terminar tomando un café! Los horarios eran muy claros, el trabajo muy bien explicado y organizado y con un ambiente muy relajante y abierto. Tuvimos nuestro propio espacio separado que nos permitió convivir muy fácilmente sin que sea demasiado intenso. Con David y Alex, siento que hemos encontrado amigos por vida! Platicamos y cenamos juntos todos los días y nos hicieron sentirnos completamente bienvenidos en su casa. Martha estaba aprendiendo español, y le vino super bien estas horas conversando todas las noches - mejoró muchísimo su nivel de español. Aprendimos mucho con ellos, y estuvo muy bonito pasar 6 semanas todo el tiempo afuera en el bonito clima de Jalisco! Creo que nunca nos hemos sentidos tan en paz y tan relajados en nuestras vidas que estando en la finca - y me imagino que cuando estemos de vuelta en Inglaterra que pensaremos todo el tiempo la vida que tuvimos ahí!! Un abrazo fuerte y gracias por todo!

Ophélie and Juan were wonderful volunteers. The kind who leave a lasting impression on a place, one you won't forget. They're a fantastic couple. She's excellent with horses; she truly loves them and is very dedicated to learning and training them. Juan, on the other hand, was the chainsaw king of the farm! I think he cut down mountains of firewood, enough to last five winters! :D Plus, they're both great cooks. They would truly be the perfect couple to hire and entrust with a large project. We are eternally grateful. Sojamm!

This was my first workaway experience and I couldn't have wished for a better one. 💕 We had such a great team, the job was not demanding at all and we had a lot of free time to learn about buddhism and explore nearby. 😊 Everyone was so nice, and I feel like I made a little family here.

Steffanie is a wonderful volunteer. She was a great help to our project. Always willing to help, a cheerful person, with good and entertaining conversation, very willing to share and approach all kinds of work with good humor and enthusiasm... My advice: let her make you the best desserts and cakes you've ever tasted!! Sojamm!!!

I had a really lovely time staying here. Caru and Vai are kind and welcoming hosts, and the atmosphere of the temple is very peaceful and positive. During my stay I learned a lot about spirituality and Krishna consciousness, and also met some wonderful people. The experience was inspiring and gave me a chance to reflect on myself. I only stayed for two weeks, which felt a little too short, and I wish I could have stayed longer to learn more and be more involved in the community. Thank you again for the warm hospitality and this meaningful experience.

Ben estuvo con nosotros 10 días nos ayudó muchísimo con la siembra y riego de plantas, cocinó para nosotros y pinto puertas ,andamios y ayudo con el huerto y en la comunidad con trabajos voluntarios ,es una persona educada servicial y muy amable con todos .lo recomendamos mucho .

Theo stayed here on my farm for three weeks. I highly recommend him and would have him back in a heartbeat. He’s a lovely young man with excellent communication skills. He’s honest, reliable, and hard-working. Theo was tidy and respectful of my new house and furniture. The kitchen was always immaculate after he used it. Some of the projects he completed whilst here were - Hanging farm gates - installing new fencing rails - Landscaping and gardening - Operating the Tractor and ride on mower - Plumbing Theo is a qualified builder. He can work autonomously and is totally trustworthy. I really enjoyed his company and wish him well in his travels.

Omar estuvo con nosotros 20 días ,nos ayudó en todas las tareas de la casa y sobre todo se encargo de las plantas ,es un encantador de plantas y árboles y sabe todo sobre ellos y hasta le hablaba y le ponía musica ,es un ser especial en todos los sentidos muy sincero y sin mentir ni malicia es un ser de luz y no lo mando el universo para dar su armonía en este hermoso lugar . Tiene un corazón lleno de luz . Cuido a nuestra perra Corina y la llevo a caminar . Nos hizo batidos muy nutritivos ,si necesitan ayuda en su proyecto huerto o jardín Omar es el indicado . Lo recomendamos muchísimo .siempre da más de su tiempo .

This has been my best experience so far, and I’m so grateful for it! A BIG thank you to Joe, who was so welcoming and kind. Joe is very flexible and understanding, and communicating with him was always easy and natural. I enjoyed the time we spent together, playing board games with Miles, our conversations, and the chance to discover the local life in New Orleans thanks to him. The house is in a very convenient location; downtown is easily accessible in just a few minutes by bus, which lets you fully enjoy the city ! I would definitely recommend this experience to other Workawayers. Thanks again, Joe, for your hospitality and for this stay in Bywater ! See you in France, I hope. Take care of Miles and yourself. What can I say about my stay at the abbey.... It was a fantastic experience. The members of the community are kind, respectful, considerate and helpful.   They take your work seriously and are more than happy  to teach you how to perform the different tasks.   Also, sharing life with them and with other workawayers is  an enriching experience.  Thank you all for receiving me so warmly and for giving me the chance to live this experience .

I had a wonderful 3 weeks with Jacopo, Francesca, their 3 beautiful children, cat, dog, chickens and goats!! I also got to meet the many guests and friends that come visit their home and land. They are a lively, busy family with lots on the go and they do their best to include volunteers and invite them on outings on the weekends. I worked with Jacopo in the morning, organizing, cleaning and doing different jobs that need to be done on a farm during winter seasons. In the afternoon I would also take their youngest son on walks in the stroller around the villages, and I really enjoyed it !!! I also got to practise and improve my Italian. Their two eldest sons are also super outgoing and friendly and enjoy getting to know the volunteers. I highly recommend volunteering with this family! Please be prepared to engage with this family and not treat it as a hotel. They really appreciate when volunteers are pro-active and enjoy being apart of their daily family life. Lastly, I think their house in well linked to Belluno as there is a bus that passes by every hour and can easily connect you to train stations if you want to visit a different province or town on your off days. I am very grateful for such a wonderful experience. Grazie mille.
