Unforgettable experience. Saad and Andrew are exceptional hosts — welcoming, attentive, available, and incredibly respectful. You feel at home with them from the very first moments. The house is charming, full of life, very pleasant, and perfectly located. Getting to central London is quick and easy, which makes the stay even more enjoyable. The Workaway offer is thoughtfully designed. I came with the hope of improving my English, and the result has far exceeded my expectations. Thank you for allowing me to start 2026 this way!

Our stay with Cleo unfortunately only lasted 5 weeks. When we arrived, we were immediately besieged by cats before Cleo could even greet us. The work was not physically demanding, we fed the cats and kept their rooms clean, sometimes we also tidied up the yard. We quickly got into the rhythm and the workload was pleasant. Work in the mornings and time off in the afternoons, two days off a week, not necessarily Saturday and Sunday. Cleo usually cooked us something for lunch, which always tasted very good. And when we wanted to make crêpes, she even conjured up a crêpe pan from the depths of the kitchen cupboards. Twice she took us to the weekly market in Coín and invited us to the most delicious vegan sandwiches in the world. We also tried sugar cane juice for the first time, which was delicious. Unfortunately we didn't have running water in between, luckily the Rio del Padrón is right next door so we went bathing in the river once, definitely a fun memory. Cleo is very solution-oriented, so she quickly had a plan B for the water. We are very impressed with how Cleo takes care of her 70 cats and does everything she can to find them a nice forever home. We would have loved to take at least ten of her cats with us, especially Max the troublemaker. We had a super great time that we will never forget and were able to collect so many great memories. Thank you to Jasmin and Paula, the other Workawayers, the sweet cats and of course Cleo 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Thank you for the warm welcome from the very first day. Jyoti and Nandini were always present, guiding and supporting us in helping the children. It was my first experience working with kids, and it was a small challenge at the beginning, but a beautiful one. The children are truly eager to learn, and it was amazing to see their progress even in just one or two weeks. I leave more confident and would do it again without hesitation. The food was always generous and made me feel at home. Grateful for these days and the memories I take with me.

It was an amazing experience with Rudi ! The experience you're looking for when you're looking for real cultural exchange. Rudi enabled me to meet the real rural culture through his friends and living for a moment the Chilian rural vibe. We did some activities like playing games, canoe, go into a local rodeo ... The land is also amazing with lovely dogs !! It's the definition of slow life and it allows me to get more energy for my future travel. Work allows you to clear your mind and/or share your story and that of Rudi. I can just recommand Rudi if you're looking for this type of experience. If you stay with Rudi ask I'm to invite Elie. She's cooking amazing locals meals, listening to your food restrictions. She's the woman to marry (only if you're more than 48 and taller it's her conditions 😂😂).

I stayed with Hans Olaf during the month of November 2025. It was my first trip as a Workaway and my truly first experience in a rural environment. Having absolutely no prior knowledge in farm life it was quite a challenge, but an expected one since it's exactly why I went there. In my case it was a self discovery trip, the first days were the hardest, when almost everything was new for me. Hans Olaf is a great teacher and an amazing person, kind and authentic. His "rhythm of life" can be really fast compared to others, specially me, since I'm quite slow. Communication is key with him, you don't have to work as much as he does, but you need to be really clear with him. If you don't stand up for yourself you're going to have a hard time, but if you talk with him he will understand you. Overall it was an amazing experience, specially with the other 2 workawayers, Hans Olaf really managed to select like minded people, which made teamwork easier and at the end we were almost like brothers. I might even go back there in the future. Thank you for everything!

From the first day Vincent arrived, he connected right away with the other volunteers, understood the tasks assigned to him immediately, and did an amazing job in his role. He is very crafty and can handle manual labor with a positive attitude. He also contributed with cooking, cleaning the house, and helping with the horses and Max, a true all rounder. But beyond that, he is an incredible human being. Always ready to help, offer a hand, go the extra mile, have interesting conversations, and share his knowledge and culture. Funny and clever, he made not just me but the whole house and fellow volunteers have a great time. I wish you only the best in your life and your travels, Vicente!

We volunteered with this project in December 2025, it was arranged late when other plans fell through and Kelly was very kind to allow us to join even though we were late notice, only staying for a short time and the schools term was out - we were and are very grateful for this. The time we spent at the school was great, as the term was out Kelly arranged for the volunteers to visit a local school of which we all went back multiple times to teach English to the pupils, the whole experience was very heartwarming and gratifying. On top of this Kelly as a host was incredibly warm and hospitable and was always trying to organise activities to occupy the volunteers (even convincing a local woman to let us into her closed cafe to watch sunset in the hills haha). The accommodation is very comfortable, with the option to buy goods from the supermarket next door to cook yourself although we never did this once as the local night market across the road had amazing and affordable options. We only wish we could have spent longer!

I stayed for 6 weeks over the winter - a very difficult time for the refuge due to near constant rain and storms. Despite the weather I had a really great time here, and it made the rare sunny days even sweeter. Firstly, the location is absolutely stunning. Nestled in the mountains, you'll never get bored of the views - and the many hikes that are doable from the doorstep. The dogs are just wonderful (special mention for Layla!). The work involves feeding and walking them, cleaning the kennels, and bits of repairs/maintenance here and there. All of this you are doing in the company of the dogs and there's plenty of time to sit and interact with them too. If you love dogs it's a no-brainer, you'll love it here. Just prepare yourself for the occasional fight between dogs. Life at the house is very simple and relaxed. There's a small shop next door, and stone kilns line the street where you can buy fresh bread. If you are lucky you might be able to see monkeys. If you are coffee dependant there's a moka pot in the kitchen, just make sure to stock up on coffee before arriving. Bring clothes you don't mind getting muddy and ripped. And a good blanket if you are visiting in the winter! Thanks to the great team of workers - the work you're doing is so valuable. If I ever return to Morocco I'll definitely be coming back here! :)

AJ is a great guy. We're honored to have hosted him with us. He connected beautifully with our kids - he loves spending time with them and making sure they feel heard and appreciated. He is a good worker and volunteer. We're glad he's now part of our big family and hope he'll be back in the future!

Joe is a very friendly person who carries himself with a lot of energy. He has a very positive vibe that he spreads to the people around him. We loved having him here. He helped us a lot with the project and also brought his experience so that we could improve our project more quickly, which is very beneficial for us and for any project that he is part of. We’re very grateful that he spent about two months with us. It was a very joyful experience.

Jules have spent several weeks with us in February, doing marvellous job helping us clear out our workshop. the work itself was helping to move things out in a overwhelming chaos, and he succeeded very well in that. We managed to empty the new workplace ,(filled a few trailers to the recycle park) and build a fantastic new work bench and tools panel. Being very helpful and always in for a good joke ,we spent a good time together. You left a foot print for ever here Jules ! Thank you dear friend

It’s honestly difficult to put everything I experienced into a review, because this stay was so incredible that words almost feel too small. Let's start with Tatsuya and Akane ❤️ They are dedicated, loving parents with wonderful values, who spend meaningful quality time with their daughter every day. You can genuinely feel the care, intention, and respect that shape their family life. Akane is a wonderful woman — patient, kind, and an excellent cook. Every single dish she prepares is an absolute 11/10. Her warmth and generosity are present not only in her parenting, but also in the way she welcomes you into her home. It is also reflected in the yoga classes she offers to other women and their children, creating a beautiful space of feminine connection, harmony, and support. Tatsuya is intelligent, respectful, and generous man. Our conversations were always pleasant and engaging. Together, they made my stay an incredible experience. And about their daughter Haru-chan... well, ladies and gentlemen, let me tell you that she was truly the cherry on top of this experience♥️😍 Haru-chan is incredibly sweet, intelligent, and well-mannered. She is curious, expressive, and full of joy. At home, her parents have created a rich, stimulating, and safe environment where she can develop her motor skills, enjoy reading, and explore through play. You will never be bored with her — every day is filled with imagination, creativity, and laughter. Please, don’t miss the fan dance classes Haru will happily teach you — and before you know it, “Sore!” will become part of your new vocabulary. About the tasks, they were simple and clear, and there was plenty of free time to enjoy the experience. You can grab the bike and explore the quiet and peaceful city of Sendai, making your stay even more special. Thank you, Tatsuya, Akane, and Haru-chan, for welcoming me into your home and sharing such special moments. I’m truly grateful for the time we spent together🤗

I stayed at the Studio and Garden with Junko and Frank for four wonderful weeks, and it was truly an amazing experience. The work was easy and well organized, the tasks were varied, and the hours were flexible, which made everything very relaxed and enjoyable. From the very first day, I immediately felt at home. Junko and Frank are two incredibly kind, warm and generous people who really care about their guests. They create such a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere that it’s impossible not to feel comfortable. We also shared some fantastic moments together — we went snorkeling and sailing, which were unforgettable experiences. During my free time, I could play tennis with the other Workawayers and spend lovely evenings together around the beautiful property. The environment is calm, friendly and full of positive energy. I also turned 30 during my stay, and Junko organized a wonderful BBQ for my birthday. It was such a thoughtful and heartwarming surprise — thank you so much for making it so special! If you are looking for a meaningful experience, wonderful people, and a true home-away-from-home feeling, this is absolutely the right place for you. Highly recommended! ✨

Our stay with Basil and Ananda was truly an amazing experience, and we can wholeheartedly recommend them as hosts. From the very beginning, the communication before arrival was excellent. They were clear, friendly, and always quick to respond, which made it very easy to prepare for the stay and feel comfortable even before we arrived. The work itself was very well organized. Instructions were always clear and easy to understand, and we really appreciated the variety of tasks. The different kinds of work kept everything interesting and gave us the opportunity to learn new skills while contributing in meaningful ways. The food and overall care were exceptional. We always felt very well looked after, and the generosity and thoughtfulness they showed made the experience even more special. What made this stay truly outstanding, though, were the people. Basil was very warm, open, and inspiring. We had many great conversations, and he kindly introduced us to community events where we met wonderful people and felt genuinely welcomed into the local community. Thank you, Basil and Ananda, for such a rich and memorable experience. We are very grateful for the time spent with you and would return anytime.
