We were staying at this beautiful place for one month in january and it was a really nice time with this lovely family. It is a place we want to come back some time. We were able to implement or own ideas because we were trusted a lot. That was important for us, because it felt like home. We had so nice pizza and pasta nights with the hole family, other volunteers and a lot of realy good Prosecco. However the Prosecco played a slightly bigger role than we personally expected. We got the chance to use the car to drive around to see the environment. We could always decide what we want to do, eat or help. In the end we had a wonderful time and felt always welcome. Dear Ruth and Andrea, we wish you all the best and hope to see you again in the future. Yours, Emma and Willi

I had a wonderful time with Vincenzo and Chiara! It was my first proper Workaway experience and it was perfect for that! The work is very relaxed; as I was there in winter/spring, it mainly involved feeding the animals and mucking out the paddock. Every now and then, I helped out with other odd jobs around the farm. The animals are all absolutely adorable and I miss them already. The little cat Selva, in particular, is very friendly and loves to sleep in the Workawayers’ bed. She's the cutest and I even got to experience her giving birth. The caravan is very cosy and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need. You just should know that it can get quite cold in the winter, but Vincenzo and Chiara provided me with gas heating for that. The supermarket and a few bars and restaurants are within walking distance, but Vincenzo and Chiara also provided me with a bike, which I could use to cycle into the centre of Trepuzzi in just a few minutes. Lecce is just around the corner – a really beautiful city that’s easy to visit for a day trip. Vincenzo and Chiara are extremely kind and hospitable! They cooked some delicious meals for me on several occasions and gave me a lift to the beach. Vincenzo taught me about Italian culture, the Salento dialect and wild plants. All in all, I had a wonderful time and would recommend this Workaway to anyone, especially if you’re looking to unwind and spend more time in nature. Thank you so much for the nice time and I hope we’ll see each other again soon!

Kimberly came to originally spend a couple of weeks with us and to our greatest delight, ended up extending her stay as we all found a lot of equilibrium in each other's company and helping hands. From her calmness and sensitivity with our animals and us humans, to her mindful approach to solving problems, her wise personnality just brought the perfect balance in our busy sometimes chaotic Ranch life. And surely, all the wonderful drone footage she took are adding to the great memories of our time together. Thanking her warmly and wishing her more great workaway experience !

We are Anna and Marie (18 years old), and we spent two weeks at Joav’s farm. Joav gave us a very warm welcome and made sure that we felt comfortable. He even arranged bicycles for us. The work was enjoyable, especially because he made sure that it was suitable and comfortable for us. The shared dinners were delicious, and spending time together created a really lovely atmosphere. Our time there was an unforgettable experience.

Where to begin when it comes to living and working with Joopi and Liz.... Its taken me weeks to write this review because the word limit is far too short for all that I have to say! I got on my plane home with eyes full of tears and heart full of love/gratitude for these people, these dogs, and this place! A month later and I'm still missing it terribly. This was my first workaway and it far exceeded anything I could've dreamed - I came as a volunteer looking for a fun new experience, and left feeling like a family member with a place I'll always call home. These hosts do a fantastic job at communicating, coordinating, and making sure that everything about your stay is smooth/comfortable! The accommodation is simple but wonderful, and your days/work are exactly as described. The adjustment into life here was quick and seamless because of how well they prepare you and continue to guide you throughout your stay - both in your work and in life. They are the most wonderful humans, mentors, and friends. And of course one of the best parts is the abundance of furry friends you get to love on all the time!! The care and dedication to dogs here is unmatched. Aside from home life, the island is amazing! A desert paradise with friendly locals, stunning beaches, great food - tho the food Liz makes is probably the best youll eat ;) - and plenty to do! I found it very safe and accessible to get around by bike, and had plenty of time in my days to explore. I could keep going on and on about my time here but I'll leave it at this - do not hesitate to volunteer for Liz and Joop, and take however long you plan to stay and double it! Im already planning my next trip back :) Liz and Joopi, I will see you soon my dear friends! Ciao until next time <3

We had a great week staying with Yu-Zhen, Richard, Randy and Connie. Yu-Zhen was upfront about how busy they would be when we were first in touch and managed our expectations about how much they would be able to show us around while we were staying. However, they still went above and beyond to include us in their evening and weekend activities - inviting us to choir practice, meditation and their temple academy where we learned a lot about the Tao. They even took us on an outing to Sun Moon Lake on Richard's one day off, which was so kind! Yu-Zhen was generous with answering our questions and with feeding us loads of delicious Taiwanese treats. We enjoyed drawing with Connie and delivering two cultural presentations about Scotland in the community and the Junior High School where we were made to feel welcome. We helped out around the house but the tasks were light (helping prepare dinner, hoovering, folding laundry) and we had lots of time to explore the nearby hiking area. As well as public YouBikes we were also able to borrow the family bikes, which was appreciated. We did not explore Taichung city much as the central attractions take a while to get to by bus, but we were happy to go to the hiking area and stay near the house as we had some personal travel planning admin to do anyway. The bedroom is really comfortable and clean, with a balcony and en-suite bathroom. Communication was great. We hope Yu-zhen and family will visit us in Scotland one day so we can repay her hospitality!

our experience at Wim, Anaïs and Marc's place was absolutely amazing, they are really comunicative and lovely people to stay with, the work varied in the 3 weeks we spent there, we did a lot of gardening, seeing the result after only two weeks, as well as other harder jobs like digging which in the end was really satisfying! We really felt like home so i couldnt reccommend this place more, hoping to come back soon!

I spent 5 weeks on the farm of Marc & Ross and it was a great experience. At that time we were only two workawayers and we helped with weeding, painting, cleaning, sanding, daily donkey tasks and some constructing works! After the working hours i spent most of the time for myself or with the other loving workawayer. For me it was perfect because i needed a quiet environment during this time. After work you can for example start walking from the farm to explore several small volcanoes. The view from the farm down to other vulcanoes and the sea is stunning! And also having my own tiny wood house with a bed, fridge, table and cooking stove inside was luxury for me 😍 thanks a lot, Ross & Marc for this opportunity!

Thank you so much, Benjamin, for this very kind feedback, which means a great deal to us. Ben is incredibly kind, always smiling, consistently cheerful, and very easy to get along with, which is a real pleasure. Whether in the garden, with the horses, or doing various household chores, he has always been willing, motivated, serious, and above all, very enthusiastic. Even the more physically demanding or less enjoyable tasks were done with a smile. His motivation doesn't depend on the weather: rain, cold, wind, or heat, he's always there. He was one of the very few people I've asked to come inside several times because it was raining, and he simply replied that working in the rain didn't bother him at all! He left here to go to another Workaway in Norway. I asked him if he minded going to a country where it's 10 degrees cooler at this time of year, and he replied that the cold didn't bother him at all! I think that alone proves his determination and his love for nature. In short, if Ben asks you to join him, don't hesitate at all; his personal qualities, dedication, and commitment are truly remarkable. We will cherish wonderful memories of Ben, our door will always be open to you, and we wish you all the best for your future adventures.

Thank you Emma and Robbie for having me again and again and again during my time in Tasmania. I can’t believe how lucky I was to have you as my first host and as my family who always welcomes me back. I enjoyed all the artwork I did, and it was fun to learn about power tools and gardening. Dog walk, cat cuddle, fire minding were my favourite activities. I experienced so many new things while I was at the farm; first chess game, first raspberry picking, first chicken pickup. Every time I go back there’s a change in the environment. It was interesting to meet other travelers from all over the world, and it was lovely to go back to see friends I’ve already met there. I’m definitely coming back in the future and you are always welcome in Japan 😊 Thank you again Emma, Robbie, Lynn, Mable, Reg, Fili, Chickens, Flambé and Disco. I love you all.

We already miss Adil! We stayed in his (beautiful and comfy) HOME for a week, and it was a lovely time. Because it was so cold and rainy, we decided together that working in the garden was a bit too challenging, so we kept doing small projects inside and sharing our time and energy. We cooked and ate together, which was like being at home - super important for us after being 7 months on the road. Adil is super clear in his communication and, without effort, understands your passions, and together you can find the best ways to contribute to his place and life. Now he is developing his taste for whiskey, if you can bring it as a gift, he will be very happy as it's quite hard to find it in reasonable price in Istanbul. See you soon!

Gordon was a fantastic workawayer. He is very friendly and appreciative; we had lots of good chats and he worked hard in the gardens. We achieved a lot together. We are both happy to recommend him to other hosts.

Willem was a very pleasant person to have around. He just blended in. He spoiled me with a daily breakfast and coffees, which is a luxury for someone who lives alone, is a slow starter and always has to do everything herself. He appreciated everything: the sightseeing trips, the meals I cooked, and the environment. We went several times to eat at a traditional tavern and to the Carnaval parade. We had very interesting conversations, and my doggy got extra attention! He is very responsible, did all the jobs without watching the clock and took initiative. I have the cleanest street in the village now. For a hermit like me, he was just perfect company. I would gladly host him again!

While in Pahang, I had to change my plans last minnute. I came across Simheswara's profile and he immediately accepted my request. When I arrived, he tried to find the best task suitable for me and how lucky I was that it was something I was always dreaming of: Working on organizing a book storage which my specific task was listing all the titles available and entering the details on a file and unpdating the online database. During my three week stay, I had my own private room and I enjoyed the diverse vegetarian meals each day. The farm has a very positive vibe and everyone is always smiling. It is a unique experience which you should not miss!

The experience was everything I hoped for and even better. I felt very safe and cared for, had amazing conversations with Anaïs, Wim and Marc and my fellow workawayers and genuinely loved spending my time there. I did not want to leave and am already thinking about coming back :) The nature is absolutely stunning and the project very interesting. They were very patient with all my questions and I always felt my presence being enjoyed and appreciated. I also have some special dietary restrictions that were payed attention to without making me feel bad about it and the food was absolutely amazing! The yurt I slept in was very nice and comfy. The work was fun and they always checked that we stopped on time :) I loved all of it!

Hector was truly a breath of fresh air during his volunteer time with us. From the moment he arrived, he brought such positive energy and enthusiasm to everything he did. He was incredibly hands-on, always willing to assist wherever needed, and approached every task with a strong work ethic and a great attitude. Although Hector’s English is still developing and was fairly limited during his stay, this did not impact his presence within our team in any way. He communicated with ease through his actions, attitude, and willingness to learn, and it was clear that he is committed to improving his English skills. Hector also brought a wonderful cultural element to his time with us. He has a real love for food and thoroughly enjoyed trying new dishes, and we were fortunate enough to experience some of his own cooking — delicious Spanish meals that we all thoroughly enjoyed. We absolutely loved having Hector as part of our team and genuinely wish he could have stayed longer. He will certainly be missed, and he is always welcome back anytime.

Norm and Candace are incredible people and I learnt a lot from my short stay on their beautiful, peaceful farm. No amount of time would be long enough here, I feel incredibly lucky to have been a part of their world. I recommend to anyone looking for a true experience of the amazing lakes and forests of rural Canada and farm life. I learnt so much from these kind people, and I will be back to visit again for certain. Thank you so much for your open hearts and minds. I miss Candace's nurturing kind nature, and Norms humble and funny stories. You are a beautiful family, and I will be back!❤️

Leah was with us for about one month, helping out with a lot of different tasks in our hostel/restaurant. Super friendly, calm and easy to communicate with. Wish she could have stayed longer and is always welcome back in the future.

We honestly wouldn’t recommend Arwen… unless you enjoy having your household run smoother, your garden thriving, and your child forming an instant, wholesome bond with someone who somehow balances fun and boundaries better than most adults. Yes, terrible. Arwen was absolutely wonderful. You can tell she’s grown up with a younger sibling, because she clicked with Konnie straight away. They formed a beautiful bond, full of laughter and play, but what really stood out was that she knew when to say no and hold a boundary. That’s a rare skill, and she handled it naturally and kindly. In the house and garden, she was exactly what you hope for but don’t always get: proactive, curious, and genuinely keen to help. No complaining, no dragging feet, just quietly getting stuck in and wanting to learn. The kind of help that actually helps. She also handled communication thoughtfully. She had been booked months in advance and did ask to change her plans a few weeks before arriving. She checked in with us first, which we appreciated, and we agreed. In hindsight, we probably should have pushed for a longer stay, because by the time she left after two weeks, we would have happily kept her around much longer. Arwen is one of the most mature almost-19-year-olds we’ve met. She’s easy to talk to, thoughtful, and genuinely switched on. Conversations with her are interesting, not just polite. So yes… we wouldn’t recommend her. Because once she’s been at your place, you’ll wish she stayed longer too.
