Description
We are a couple in our 50's- Andreea (53) and Yoav (58), living on our beautiful farm near Castelo Branco, Central Portugal with our dogs- Heevie and Mitzi, our cats Tikki and Vanessa, and our loving sheep and chicken.
After 20 years in NYC, we decided to set out on an adventure of rehabilitating an old abandoned mill house and pursue our dream of living in touch with nature, working the land and enjoying a simple life. Central Portugal is dotted with beautiful traditional Portuguese villages, offering old time charm and lots of widsom.
Nestled between olive groves, pasture land, and natural cork oaks, our small farm is located along the Ocreza River, offering a serene and relaxing environment. Over the last two years a variety of birds have started returning to our land making it a charmed place. We are five minutes by car from a beautiful lake that offers amazing swimming beaches, five minutes from a supermarket, and fifteen minutes from Castelo Branco.
Our goal is to create a small piece of heaven that can give pleasure and joy to everyone staying on the farm. We are in the process of establishing a greenhouse, a nursery, an orchard, a shed for our sheep, revive the vines and olive trees, develop a traditional irrigation system and much more. This is not a commercial farm, but a homestead.
We look forward to meeting and collaborating with people from all over the world.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are originally from Israel, lived in NYC for over twenty years and traveled to many beautiful parts around the world.
Yoav is a passionate farm-to-table cook and Andreea is an artist. We love to cook Mediterranean dishes and learn new recipes, and collaborate on art projects around the farm, eager to brainstorm new ideas and work together.
Part of being self sufficient is to do it yourself so we’ll be happy to share with you from our experience: building, welding, irrigation, plumbing, electricity and many other skills we acquired over the years.
Our farm is a private, non-commercial, homestead.Help
We are looking for people who want to live in harmony in nature and want to experience daily farm life.
Projects on our farm include: working the land- weeding the garden, watering plants, feeding the animals, planting trees etc., building a shed for the sheep, a greenhouse, water reservoirs and more.
Yoav is an experienced gardener and talented cook who is happy to cook delicious meals and impart from his knowledge with others.
We are also open to host people who want to develop their own project, based on a passion and skills that could improve and beautify the farm.Languages

What else ...
In the spring of 2025 we will need help in finalizing the irrigation system through out the farm, activating the biological swimming pool, putting up the shed for our sheep and general work in the farm .
In your free time you can visit traditional Portuguese villages, hike in the area, take Portuguese classes, work remote (we have strong internet), swim in the lake by our house read, meet other people in the area by visiting local markets or caffès, and just chill on the farm.
