Description
Welcome to our coastal escape along the beautiful Dolphin Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. We manage a curated collection of beach homes and self-catering accommodation, with a focus on comfort, tranquillity and exceptional guest experiences. Our days are filled with ocean air, coastal living, and the rewarding work of preparing beautiful homes for guests from all over the world.
We are passionate about hospitality, high standards, good teamwork and creating memorable stays for our guests. If you enjoy being part of a positive, organised and professional team, this is a place where you’ll feel right at home.
Our Project
We’re looking to welcome Workawayers who can support our housekeeping team, general property care, garden help, and light maintenance—depending on your strengths and interests. Our aim is to provide a supportive environment where you can learn, grow and experience authentic coastal living while contributing meaningfully to our daily operations.
We often prepare homes for check-ins, assist with guest amenities, keep outdoor areas beautiful, and help with small projects around the properties. Every day is different, but the atmosphere is always friendly and purposeful.
Why You'll Love It Here
Our houses are located close to some of the most breathtaking beaches on the Dolphin Coast. Think early morning walks, warm weather, tidal pools, vibrant markets, surf cafés and a relaxed coastal lifestyle. The area is safe, community-oriented and full of nature.
You’ll get to enjoy:
A calm, scenic environment
Nearby beaches and marine life
Warm and friendly local culture
Beautiful sunrises, birdlife and tropical greenery
Opportunities to learn about hospitality and property care
A chance to be part of a team that values kindness, communication and pride in work.
Who We Are as a Team
Our team is a small but dedicated group who genuinely care about what we do. Stephanie, the operations manager, is hands-on, passionate and deeply committed to hospitality, training and creating meaningful experiences for both guests and team members.
We also work with:
Housekeepers who take pride in maintaining high standards
Maintenance assistants who help keep homes functioning beautifully
Garden and pool caretakers who ensure outdoor spaces stay lush and clean
Support staff who assist with admin, arrivals and guest communication
We all work together closely, communicate kindly and make sure everyone feels supported.
What We Value
Respect, reliability, teamwork and a positive attitude. We love volunteers who take initiative, enjoy learning new skills, and appreciate the beauty of coastal living. In return, we offer a welcoming environment, a chance to grow and the opportunity to be part of something meaningful.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Workawayers will experience a genuine taste of South African coastal living. Our team is made up of diverse local staff who love sharing their culture, stories, food and everyday life. Volunteers will have the chance to learn about South African hospitality, our warm community spirit, and the relaxed but vibrant lifestyle of the Dolphin Coast.
You’ll learn:
How we prepare and manage holiday homes in a professional coastal setting
Local customs, traditions and ways of working
Basic isiZulu phrases and everyday expressions from our team
How our community celebrates, cooks and connects
You’ll experience:
Beautiful beaches, markets, cafés and small-town coastal culture
Daily teamwork with kind staff who enjoy exchanging knowledge
Opportunities to join local outings, events or gatherings when available
In return, we love hearing about your country, your traditions and your way of life too. Workawayers become part of our extended family, and the cultural exchange is something we genuinely value and enjoy.

Accommodation
We provide comfortable, clean and private accommodation for our Workawayers. Each volunteer will have their own private room, and our female volunteers will share a unit together for safety and company. The unit includes a private bathroom, as well as access to a shared canteen area where you can prepare meals and relax.
There is also a laundry room available for your use.
When we have no guest bookings, volunteers are welcome to enjoy the facilities on the property, including the swimming pool, beautiful beaches nearby, and the tennis court. It’s a peaceful and scenic environment, perfect for unwinding after a day of helping.
We aim to make your stay comfortable, safe and enjoyable, with everything you need for a pleasant coastal experience.
We provide accommodation and weekly food vouchers for Workawayers. These vouchers can be used to purchase groceries of your preference so you can prepare your own meals comfortably in the shared canteen area. This gives you the freedom to cook what you enjoy and eat at times that suit your schedule.
While we don’t provide three cooked meals a day, we make sure you have the means to look after your own meals through the vouchers provided.
In addition, our team enjoys creating a sense of family and connection. Once a week, we arrange a shared meal where staff and volunteers come together to enjoy food, relax and spend time as a team. It’s a lovely opportunity for cultural exchange and to experience our warm coastal hospitality.
If you have dietary preferences or restrictions, you are welcome to let us know so we can support you where possible.
What else ...
During your time off, there’s plenty to enjoy in and around the Dolphin Coast. The area is known for its gorgeous beaches, warm ocean, cafés, local markets and relaxed coastal lifestyle. You can spend your afternoons swimming, exploring tidal pools, visiting nearby nature reserves, browsing boutique shops, or discovering some of our favourite local coffee spots. There are also lovely coastal walks and viewpoints perfect for sunrise lovers.
Transport:
Public transport is limited in our area, so many volunteers choose to use local taxis or rideshare services for short trips. Everything is fairly close by, and we can happily guide you on the best options. Occasionally, our team may assist with lifts when possible, depending on schedules.
House Rules & Living Style:
We live and work in a calm, respectful and organised environment. We appreciate volunteers who are tidy, considerate and mindful of shared spaces.
A few helpful guidelines:
Keep your room and shared areas clean and tidy.
Respect quiet hours, especially in the evenings.
Be considerate of other volunteers and staff who share the space.
No parties or loud gatherings on the property.
Please treat the home and facilities as you would your own.
We value a peaceful, friendly atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable and safe. If you enjoy simple, community-oriented living and appreciate the beauty of the coast, you’ll settle in wonderfully.
