Thank you Mattia for this winter! I really felt relieved to have Mattia and Beatrice here for 3 months. They took good care of the house and helped with welcoming other guests. I really appreciate them always asking if something was unclear, so we could figure out the correct solution for everything. They are both happy to help with anything, and very flexible. Mattia is very accurate and reminded me many times of things to be done. I think he prefers to be active and our calm vibes made him learn how to be busy with new things without given tasks. He is a very friendly and patient supervisor and helpful teacher of everything he knows. I can recommend Mattia for many different tasks and for happy, social and curious company.

Ecatarina stayed with me for one month and helped out with household tasks like cleaning, tidying, organizing, cooking. She is a wonderful woman. Helpful, smart, get things done, takes initiative, respectful. Having her was an absolute pleasure, I highly recommend her and would welcome her back any time.

An absolutely wonderful experience! The atmosphere was warm, friendly, and welcoming from start to finish. Dai and Sara are incredibly kind hosts who make you feel at home right away. We especially loved the many enriching conversations about Japan and the meaningful cultural exchanges we shared — they even took the time to teach us how to craft bamboo rings, which was such a unique and memorable experience. The work is indeed hard and requires attention to detail, just as described, but it is more than rewarded with delicious, authentic home-cooked meals made with love. We couldn’t recommend this experience more — thank you again for everything!

Our first Workaway experience was with Ingeborg, and it couldn’t have been more amazing. From the very beginning, we felt like part of the family throughout our entire stay. As it was our first experience, it was especially helpful that Ingeborg was very clear and direct about the tasks, how they should be done, and what was needed and prioritized. This made everything much easier for us and helped us feel more confident and comfortable. Ingeborg was incredibly kind and even helped us organize some little trips so we could explore different parts of Norway, which made the experience even more special. We also spent great quality time together, playing board games and sharing many fun moments. Balder and Sverre are amazing — and very, very good at board games! 😊 A very special thank you to Hilde, Ingeborg’s mother. It was truly a pleasure to meet her and to spend time together. We are very grateful for this experience and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming environment. A big hug to all of you and hopefully see you again one day!

Isabel is a very friendly, motivated and interested person. She helped a lot in the garden and with the animals, because of her attention and loving care we were able to resque a very weak lamb. We enjoyed the time with her a lot, it was a great pleasure to host her and we hope she will come back one day. Muchísimas gracias, querida Isa, por tu dedicación; te deseamos todo lo mejor en tus planes.

Marceau was such a great help and lovely to have around the house. We really enjoyed our discussions on travel and life, the universe and everything! He is very competent with building work and gets stuck in! He is a very independent worker and speaks really good english as well as fluent french. He also looked after our house and chickens for a couple of weeks while we went away, completely trustworthy. We very much hope he will come back when we have some more interesting projects to offer!

Luna and Sophia were reliable, easy to work with, and communicated well throughout their stay. They approached tasks with a great attitude and were a pleasure to have around. We would happily recommend them to other hosts.

Hanna is such a friendly person who sees work and just does it! She stayed with us for 10 days, but it feels like she stayed for over a month. Her main tasks were helping with cooking, light household tasks, the kids and doing some gardening. In the garden she did ivy cutting, trimming lavender, weeding flower beds, planting trees, watering. She integrated herself perfectly into our daily rythm and family and we had some fun conversations! We would gladly host her again anytime in the future!

Your hospitality is matched only by the quality of your artwork, which truly brings your home to life.Furthermore, we must say that your cooking was a delight; we will definitely remember some of those recipes. We sincerely believe that our stay on Waiheke wouldn't have been the same without you. And of course, having Louie there was the icing on the cake! Des Bisous !

This was my first Workaway experience, as I just arrived in Australia, and I am so glad it started with such a welcoming and warm family that made me feel completely at home, safe, and included. I stayed with Fiona, Val and Lucia for just under two weeks. Fiona is an amazing host and person; she provided both structure and a caring, open atmosphere during my stay, which I am very thankful for. I had time to work, explore what Brisbane and its surroundings had to offer and also connect with everyone at home. I felt as if I became a temporary member of the family — everyone was so kind, understanding and made sure to account for my best interests in every situation. I really apprecite that. My daily work mostly included various household tasks and cooking — I learned a lot and will carry some of the recipes and tips with me into the future! The room that I stayed in was perfect and had everything that I needed. The area surrounding the house is surreally beautiful and full of life! I have many memories and moments from my stay that I will always cherish as my journey in Australia continues. Thank you guys for everything🤍 Polina

We had two very joyful, warm weeks with Flora and Florian in our homestay! From the very first day they became part of our family-like community. They helped out wherever necessary: daily kitchen duties, decorating, caring for the animals, playing with the children, doing construction work, gardening, and contributing to a video project. Their fun and warm personalities quickly won our hearts. We are so grateful for your dedication and wish you all the very best for the future. We truly hope our paths will cross again one day...

This was my first workaway and was a great experience , if you are learning Japanese you will be able to meet the locals , learn more about Japanese culture in general and meet a lot of new people who become friends later.You also have bike that you can use to explore the area and doing long sanpo. The work may be hard some days but you can practice and learn things that you never did before which is a good point in my opinion. Thanks you Paul & Tina 🌞

In my experience here I got to learn a lot of different things, the hosts Paul and Tina put in a lot of effort to show you the Japanese culture, you are able to use bikes to get around where there are many things to see such as parks, temples, thrift stores and more. Even if you aren't a fluent Japanese speaker, Tina will help you learn important key words in Japanese which are very helpful. The work hours are very good as you normally finish at 1 in the afternoon and can do what you want for the rest of the day, which gives you more than enough time to explore! Thank you for this unforgettable experience

Nell is a wonderful volunteer. She was very brave to stay alone at our homestay to help us take care of the garden and clean the house while our family was not there. She was always proactive in finding work to do and very professional in sending me photo updates and messages about what she had done each day. She also joined us and our guests in making bánh chưng and learning about Vietnamese Lunar New Year traditions. She learned very quickly and wrapped the cakes very skillfully, which impressed us a lot and made the experience even more enjoyable for everyone. She was also very kind, patient, and enthusiastic with the children. I highly recommend her to any future host.

My stay with Lila, Jayshree and Dami was truly unforgettable — it genuinely felt like a home away from home 🏡❤️ Starting with Lila (71), he truly defies age 💪. He is a living example that learning never stops. Watching him work on the farm with the energy of someone in their 30s was incredibly inspiring 🌱. He has deep knowledge in agriculture, building, machinery, food, and even world politics 🌍, and what I admired most was his patience in explaining everything. Jayshree is simply amazing ✨ — kind, compassionate and full of positive energy 💛. She is always active, supportive and brings warmth to the home. Her vibe is infectious 😄, and she cooks some of the most delicious food I’ve ever had 🍲🔥 Dami, their 12-year-old daughter, is the fun and lively energy of the house — playful, cheerful and always keeping things entertaining 😄🎉 Both Lila and Jayshree treat Workaway volunteers like family 🤝 — very cooperative, understanding and always ready to help. You never feel like an outsider. I also met some amazing people from around the world 🌏. The long conversations, games 🎲 and sharing different vegetarian cuisines made the experience even more special 🥗✨ I came as a beginner in farm and building work, but learned so much during my 2-week stay. Time passed so quickly ⏳ Beyond work, activities like hiking 🥾, waterfalls 🌊, beach trips 🏖️ and karaoke nights 🎤 made it even more memorable. Great accommodation, beautiful surroundings, amazing food, and most importantly wonderful people 🌿 One of the best experiences of my life ❤️ — highly recommended!

Pasé 15 días en casa de Martina y Johan, fue realmente maravilloso ✨ Me recibieron muy bien y me sentí tan a gusto que prolongué mi estancia y sin duda me habría quedado más tiempo si hubiera podido. El entorno es muy tranquilo y agradable. Pude ayudar en diversas actividades y aprendí mucho. El trabajo es accesible y hay opciones. Martina y Johan son personas maravillosas y sin duda volveré a verlos si alguna vez estoy por la zona. Muchísimas gracias por todo ! 😉 ✨

Carmina came in with high energy and a great connection to all the animals. She got along well with the other volunteers and workers. She was responsible to her duties,dependable and always ready to help. Gabriella misses her. Her bilingual skills are a real asset and her positive attitude make her a highly recommended volunteer. We had a great time at Dianna and Gilly's place. We spent together as a family 6 unforgettable weeks and we find them as a very cheerful and kind couple who immediately makes you feel at home. So if you are looking for a home to home workaway experience this host will be a right match for you. The work that we've done wasn't hard or difficult at all. My husband mainly chopped the wood, made kindelings, painted the walls inside the house and arranged deep cleaning for garage. He used to help with sweat lodge which Dianna and Gilly hold every second Sunday and it's a fun job because you learn many new and spiritual things. I used to cook dinner for several times but I am afraid the way we eat is not that healthy as Dianna and Gilly used to. But I still hope they liked my dishes:) I helped with painting, did some housekeeping, watering flowers, ragging leaves and showelled the snow in front of the house. So my husband and me highly recommend this host and thanks a lot for being welcome and hospitable for us. Cheers Olga and Murat

I truly enjoyed my time together with Nazareth and the other volunteers! It felt a bit like living in a big family - cooking together, sharing every meal, playing games together, having inspiring conversations and of course lots of fun! There was a big variety of work tasks - during my time at the finca it was very easy work and I especially enjoyed working in nature (planting, harvesting cacao,…) and cooking. You have to pay a small fee for the food (no possibility to bring your own food), but since you only work a few hours per week and you get 3 meals every day - even on your two off days- it seems still fair to me. Many thanks to Nazareth, the other volunteers and the lovely animals for helping to make me feel so comfortable at the finca.
