Mia stayed with us for two months, and from the moment she sat in the car, I felt like she was part of the family. We connected immediately, and she quickly adapted to our way of life. She is someone who adapts to any situation assertively, empathetically, and decisively. She spoke Spanish with the children and English with me, something I will always be grateful for because it improved my English (or so she says). She stayed alone with the children, allowing me not only to go to work with complete peace of mind, but also to have time for myself (she taught me to love myself a little more, thank you). It wasn't just ‘work’; we did activities in the mountains together and had a great time. I will miss having you at home and how we understand each other just by looking at each other and end up crying with laughter. It was fun looking for recipes together to learn new things to cook (being careful with the pepper). I hope the ‘universe’ allows us to meet again in time and space because it was wonderful to have you here. I'll put you on the list for the Workaway party, dear sister.

I stayed with Pure in August 2025. His farm is incredible. A forrest of fruit and vegetables. He is very motivated and precise in what he does. If you were really wanting to see an example of a permaculture self sufficient farm this is the real deal. The buildings themselves are beautiful, practical and made using natural building techniques. To see what people had built out of bamboo was so fascinating as the architecture was insane. He also grows incredible mushrooms and is an excellent chef. The place is truly incredible to see and experience. Pure is always happy to share his knowledge if people are curious. We spent our time getting the soil ready and planting vegetables, harvesting fruit and watering. Phayao itself is a beautiful place and I was lucky enough to borrow the motorbike on the farm and ride to the beautiful huge lake in the town itself. Thankyou Pure !

Liebe Saskia, wir sind sehr dankbar, dass du uns im November und Dezember 2025 besucht und uns so tatkräftig unterstützt hast. Die Aufgaben im Café und auf dem Hof hast du schnell gelernt und warst dabei immer sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Auch unsere Gäste im Café hatten eine tolle Zeit mit dir. Du warst uns eine große Hilfe. Wir würden uns sehr freuen, wenn du uns mal wieder in Elbeu besuchen kommst und wünschen dir alles Gute für deinen Weg. Ganz liebe Grüße von uns allen :)

They came to stay with us during the rice harvesting season, which is the busiest time of the year. Even so, they worked so proactively and enthusiastically, and in the evenings, they spent a lot of time playing with our children. Our kids really grew attached to them and loved having them around. Their cooking was absolutely amazing, and we looked forward to every single meal. In the evenings, it was also so much fun to share Japanese language and culture with them, since they were very curious and interested in Japan. We miss you and we hope to see you guys in the future!

Had an excellent time here to start my trip in South East Asia! Learned so much about Thai culture from Jin and her friends. It was so nice to join them for activities, like hiking and festivals. Jin is very clear about who she is looking for in the description, so make sure you read it properly. You must be independent, can follow rules and be organised. If yes, then this is perfect for you. The kids at the school were so sweet and I enjoyed teaching them. The house is perfect and getting to live with other volunteers was great. Made good friends with the two others staying there! Thanks Jin for everything!!

She is very cheerful and a mature, experienced person. She listened to my parenting concerns and always gave positive and encouraging advice. She helped a lot, not only with farm work but also by taking care of kids. She also made us Spanish dishes, which were really delicious. We really appreciate it and we miss you so much!!!!!

L'expérience avec Jo et Jake a été excellente. Je suis venue pour 2 semaines et je suis restée 5 mois ! Nous sommes totalement libres de prendre les initiatives qui nous plaisent et de faire de ce lieu le nôtre, de l'embellir encore plus... C'est un lieu magnifique oú de merveilleuses rencontres se font. Merci Jo et Jake pour ce temps passé, on se reverra bientôt!

Suha and Millie were great hosts and what an amazing place they have. They are easygoing and funny. So nice to be out go the city and on this green farm. This was my first workaway experience and I had the best time. Lots to do from cooking together, doing yoga together, rock climbing and visiting the art gallery near by. We still had lots of time to relax and reflect and do our own thing. The Yoga shala and the traditional outdoor Thai kitchen is beautiful. You do need to be prepared to have very basic accommodation and bedding if you haven't experienced other workaway experiences before, as it is very simple. But totally worth it. If you have a good attitude and are positive, I guarantee you will not only have a fun time but also a restful and grounding experience.

She was our very first Workawayer, and she spent a lot of time playing with our children and always completed the tasks we asked of her reliably, which was a great help to us. We also enjoyed going out together on weekends and were happy to create many wonderful memories with her.

She stayed with our family for one month. From the very first day, she spent a lot of time playing with our children and willingly helped with many tasks such as housework, childcare, farm work, and preparing for a traditional mochi-making event. She often made thoughtful suggestions even before we asked and took initiative in everything she did, which was a great help to us. She is also a wonderful cook, and thanks to her delicious meals, our family enjoyed many happy moments together. Our children quickly grew attached to her, and she truly felt like a member of our family.

Staying with Serena was a blast! Trinity and I stayed for about 3 weeks and we ended up lengthening our stay because we enjoyed our time so much. Serena and Francesco are truly some of the kindest people we have ever met. They were soooo gracious, and treated us like we were a part of the family. The food was amazing and we got to live like true Italians. Speaking of the family, the boys presented a new adventure every day. Each boy has very unique character, and we felt as though we bonded with each one of them in different but meaningful ways! The house sometimes got chaotic with everybody running around at once, but this is a part of what made our experience so authentic and interesting every day. I can't stress enough about how kind and gracious Serena and Francesco are. We have never been treated so kindly. Amazing experience, amazing food, amazing people.

Chris and Julie were amazing hosts! They treated me like family right away, and really catered to my every need. The accommodation was great and I was given a ton of really useful info about Bangkok that helped me with my travels after my workaway. The work that we did was really special and unique. I don't think that I would have gotten an experience this authentic anywhere else! Overall I highly recommend this workaway for anybody that wants to have yummy food, gracious hosts, and a really special teaching experience.

I stayed with Kleaw and Issac in September 2025. They are kind and helpful hosts who you can learn a lot from. They are openminded and easy going yet motivated and passionate about natural building and sustainable living. They have built a beautiful environment for travelers to come enjoy and learn about the natural building techniques and lifestyle. They are happy to share their knowledge if asked. The work was not too demanding and there was a good sense of teamwork. If they open to workawayers in the future, and you aren't afraid to get your hands dirty then definitely don't miss out on this workaway experience. What an amazing place. Thankyou !

We spent four days with Leah and it was wonderful. The tasks were clearly explained, yet we were given plenty of freedom to complete them. Leah is an excellent cook and was always happy to chat, especially about her travels. She has a wealth of knowledge and we learned a lot from her. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and wish her all the best.

I enjoyed my stay at Naoko's house so much ! Her family is very lovely and welcoming. Naoko is so sweet and has amazing cooking skills. Guchan has a great sense of humor and the kids are very cute. The tasks are clear and depend a lot on the seasons, but in my case, I cooked a lot, played with the kids and did some outdoor work as well. Satsuki and Yamato were a lot of fun to play with ! Naoko and Guchan were always very thoughtful. They would recommend me places to visit, make sure I was comfortable and would invite me to come to onsens with them. I had the opportunity to attend mochi making parties and spend Christmas with Naoko's friends, which I am very grateful for. Thank you so much for everything you've done for me ! I can't wait to come back to Japan and visit you again !! All the best 🥰

Lara and Tony are wonderful hosts. They are such great conversationalists and have loads of knowledge about the flora, fauna, and destinations that surround their home. This was my first Workaway experience--I felt so safe the whole time and it was absolutely wonderful all around. They let me structure my time with tasks that were within my strengths, and were extremely flexible when I needed to change up my schedule. I will remember this experience extremely fondly, especially our day trip to the beach, walking around their beautiful property, having dinner together, the wolf game, talking about the bugs and plants, and petting their sweet kitten!

Fredi and Angie were the most hardworking, friendly, enthusiastic workawayers to date. They got stuck into any task. They brought more light and joy into our community. I cant praise them enough. If they apply to join your workaway, you should definitely take them. No matter the mission, they will go above and beyond. They will take initiative. Just good people, doing good, being good, and they added a lot of value to our space. They were consistent with the practice, and it was a pleasure to work and train along side them. Gracias. From the very first day, Tatiana was a breath of fresh air for all of us. It is rare to meet a volunteer who arrives with such genuine motivation, positive energy, and a truly beautiful attitude and Tatiana brought all of that and more. She didn’t just help; she uplifted the entire shelter. Her good vibe, willingness to step in wherever needed, and natural kindness changed the atmosphere around her. She worked with care, thoughtfulness, and respect for the dogs, for the people, and for the space. Everything she did came from a place of sincerity and responsibility. Tatiana is the definition of what a volunteer should be: motivated, kind, present, emotionally intelligent, and deeply supportive. She didn’t need guidance to do the right thing she simply knew how to be there, how to help, and how to contribute in a meaningful way. Beyond her help, she is simply a very beautiful person, inside and out. Having her with us was a privilege, and her presence left a lasting, positive mark on the shelter. We are truly grateful for her time, her energy, and her heart.

Lu is a great volunteer Help me a lot. He all do his best, I call him many times to take a risk. I bring him to visit the sightseeing of Changbin and enjoy the hot springs. A week too short to interact deeply. We all said not goodbye but see you again. Thanks again, Lu.

Ailsa was so kind, we could stay with her spontaneously and she picket us up from the bus station. We learned a lot about Australian culture and the best place to visit 😍 Food was bought as desired or a joint shopping list was created. Work was never too hard and around noon when it got hot we could also have free time. It was a very good time and We would come back immediately if we are in the area!!
