Merci 😊.

Xena and Jack. For us everything was correct from the very beginning, and it was a really good experience to have you at our finca. We truly enjoyed having you here and sharing daily life together, and the exchange flowed easily and naturally. Your help was very important for us, especially with the more demanding work, and we really appreciated your flexibility, positive attitude, and energy. We are very happy to know that you felt comfortable and well looked after, even when the weather was challenging. We wish you all the best on your adventure and hope everything goes great for you. Big hugs, Lili and Wolfgang

Our stay was an incredibly positive experience. We spent a wonderful time with the whole team, and from the very beginning we felt a strong sense of family and warmth. The work was light, enjoyable, and well organized. We had the opportunity to see how a hotel operates from the inside, interact with guests, and gain new experience. What truly made this place special was the people. We enjoyed a lot the time spent together during shared meals — it was amazing to discover traditional Latin American flavors and well as conversations that trully made us feel like part of the family. Guys were always supportive, kind, and happy to share their knowledge and advice, especially when it came to planning our journey. We totally recommend this place to anyone looking for more than just a Workaway, but a genuine cultural exchange and a welcoming community. ¡Muchas gracias!

Eran's farm was my first workaway and I'm very thankful for such a positive experience. It was very easy to work together as Eran is very flexible and guides you along through his process. Even though the place is very remote (I recommend a car, although there is plenty to keep busy with on the land as well), Eran made sure to include me in all his plans & friends and gave me great recommendations and freedom to explore. I'm happy I was able to experience his openness, kindness, and vision. :)

Hosting Susan was a delight. My daughter affectionately began calling her our "Mary Poppins". Susan planned and cooked our meals, baked for us (and our farm employees!), grocery shopped, filled our freezer with baked goods, and organized the kitchen, This was in addition to having our two grandchildren underfoot. Susan was respectful of our house rules and asked for our preferences. She adapted to our ever changing schedule and kept the house running smoothly during the height of our hectic summer season. Susan is well traveled and an interesting person to converse with.

My friend and I stayed 10 days with Irina and we had the best time ! Our daily routine was to take care of the animals and work on several different jobs depending on the need (fixing the road, painting the house, improving the bungalow...) and we definitely learned a lot ! Irina is a very welcoming host and a very interesting person, it was a pleasure to spend those days together. We also loved spending time with the animals and will miss them a lot ! The Island is amazing, very beautiful, with a lot of very nice places to visit, our only regret is not staying longer. Thank you so much Irina for welcoming us and hope to see you again ! ❤️

Yahya stayed with us for a little over a month, and from the very beginning it was clear that he would become a truly enriching part of our daily life. He approached every task with remarkable reliability, great willingness to learn, and an impressive level of independence. Whether he was caring for plants, trimming hedges, weeding, helping with the deep cleaning of the house, organizing our food supplies, reorganizing the kitchen, or supporting us with creative projects, he always worked with calm focus and genuine dedication. One moment that particularly stood out was his quiet but attentive response when he noticed that one of us was not feeling well; without being asked, he stepped in and took over the tasks for the day, showing both responsibility and empathy. Beyond the practical help, Yahya enriched our home through his personality and the way he engaged with us. He is friendly, curious, respectful, and highly communicative, with excellent English skills. We shared many long and stimulating conversations about history, politics, culture, philosophy, and much more. He joined our game nights, engaged naturally with our friends during their visits, and integrated effortlessly into every social situation. We also appreciated that he cooked wonderful dishes from his home country for us — a true highlight of cultural exchange and incredibly delicious. Regarding language, Yahya put steady effort into practicing German during his stay. We spoke frequently in German, and he was always willing to try, ask questions, and build on what he already knew. His consistency and openness made the learning process enjoyable for all of us. In our home, Yahya was always considerate, tidy, and respectful of shared spaces. His calm presence, openness to new experiences, and genuine interest in our way of life made the time especially pleasant. We wholeheartedly recommend Yahya to any future host. He enriches everyday life simply by being around, and we would be very happy to welcome him again in the future.

I spent five wonderful weeks at Anouk’s home. The family is extremely respectful and kind. Anouk is a very practical and warm person; I truly enjoyed our conversations. She cooks incredibly well and has a wonderful taste in music—you’ll see it when she shares her playlist! The triplets are very calm and respectful; it was a pleasure to take them to school and cook for them sometimes. The tasks Anouk assigned to me were simple: tidying and cleaning the house, driving the children to school, and then taking care of the dogs, who are calm and require very little effort. I highly recommend this unique experience. Argentau is located on the border with the Netherlands and Germany, a very convenient place to explore all three countries. In my case, I was there in winter and was able to enjoy snowy landscapes that looked like they came straight out of a documentary—truly impressive! I hope to be able to return someday. I have nothing but gratitude for them for letting me be part of the family and learn from their routine and customs.

I have volunteered for this project twice, and I am grateful that I was welcomed to return in the summer of 2025. The vast majority of students I met and helped at Annie’s language school are very warm, cooperative, well behaved, and eager to study and practice their English language skills. I have fond memories of working with them, and I say that as someone who has taught in China for a long time and has not been lacking exposure to students. A few of the young Thai learners I worked with genuinely impressed me by demonstrating knowledge of topics related to biology and chemistry – topics and knowledge that seemed rather advanced for their ages. The books that the students use are high quality resources that I believe are effective at helping students meet their learning goals. The school’s collection of books includes a few beautifully illustrated ones that were written in both Thai and English. Intermediate and advanced students might enjoy reading from them and discussing their content if they need a break from the regular materials they study from. For standard weekend lessons, you don’t need to do much planning, as your main duty is not to lecture to a whole bunch of students at once or even make much use of screens. The learners work at different paces, and they do not all study from the same books, so the teacher will often check in on them as they’re working, give them feedback and encouragement, ask them to read aloud and review content they’ve learned, and promote enriched thinking and consideration about new content they’ve been studying. This is the among the best ways to teach students, as they can all get a lot of attention and support while practicing and applying what they’re studying. Even though it lacks power, some volunteers use a computer within the school to prepare Canva presentations. It was running Windows 10, and Microsoft was about to permanently abandon support for that operating system. I’m glad I got the chance to flex my tech skills by upgrading the computer’s operating system soon before that date, setting it up so it can dual-boot between Linux and Windows 11. I am also proud to say that I successfully helped to recover and backup the vast majority of files that had been stored on a failing external hard drive. Not even the people at a university’s I.T. Department could pull off what I was able to do, and it was nice to be trusted with a major task like that. I feel honored to have helped Annie and her family regain access to photos they treasure. Some other tasks that I performed over the summer were as follows: - decorating a wall with stickers; - mending a plush dinosaur whose stitches had split open; - backing up and organizing some digital files from cloud storage, and; - recoding (editing) videos so they consume less space but do not show noticeably reduced quality. The area where volunteers stay at is suburban, and it is quiet and safe to walk there. Very near to the school is a fairly large pond surrounded by some trees and exercise equipment; its a very relaxing and simple way to get exercise without having to travel to an actual park. A 7-11 convenience store and a gym are also not far away. If you want to walk around Nonthaburi to explore temples, just be mindful that sometimes there are unleashed dogs that can be aggressive, but you’ll very seldom encounter them on or near the main roads. Getting to or from this area from the nearest subway station takes about 65 minutes of walking, but walking along the main road with the subway line is noisy and busy because it has a very high volume of traffic. Although the subway network can take you to Bangkok and beyond, if you go a little further east of the subway station and across a short bridge, you can take a boat to many riverside piers throughout Bangkok – including ones very close to The Grand Palace. The boats are mainly for Thai commuters, and so their schedules are mostly limited to mornings and afternoons. The advantages of traveling via boat instead of subway are that you’ll get a better view of buildings and nature along the Chao Praya River, you don’t need to change vehicles, and you’ll play a flat travel rate. Annie and her family are wonderful people, and I am grateful to their maid for doing a great job of cooking and cleaning. Thanks to all of them – and the excellent learners – for memorable and fulfilling summer experiences!

Bon voyage Philippe

We enjoyed a wonderful time with Friedrich! Janine is a very kind and caring person, she picked me up and took me back to the train station and provided me with everything I might need. We immediately felt at home. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, yet everything you need for daily life is within walking distance. My dog and Friedrich became friends right away, it’s been very lovely to watch! Thank you so much for everything, we hope to see you again very soon!

Staying with this family in Antalya was one of the most beautiful and meaningful experiences of my Workaway journey. I arrived without having family close to me, and at the beginning I was honestly afraid that I wouldn’t fit in. I had almost forgotten what it felt like to be part of a family. From the very first day, they welcomed me with open hearts and made me feel truly at home. Through sharing daily life — working in the garden, cooking for them, helping with simple household tasks, talking, laughing, and celebrating special moments like New Year’s Eve — they reminded me how important it is to have a family and to feel close to one. They are incredibly kind, supportive, and respectful people. They always listened with openness and understanding, respected my values, and supported my decision to travel to Selçuk. I always felt free to communicate my needs, and they were genuinely caring and considerate in every situation. Kuzey Sarp and Kenan Pars filled my days with joy, and I already miss them very much, just as I miss all of you. I am deeply grateful for everything we shared, for the trust, kindness, and love. I arrived as a volunteer, and I left with a beautiful family in my heart. Thank you for opening your home and your hearts to me. You will always have a very special place in mine ❤️

Me and my boyfriend spent a wonderful week in Phayao helping at the kindergarten. We were very welcomed and involved during our week. Pakk and Ken were great so were all of the teachers and of course the children too. We did a lot of different activities teaching, looking after the children, Theatre training, lunch and we were very lucky to be volunteering at children's day in Thailand, which was a truly wonderful experience to be equaly with the children and the teachers. Phayao is a beautiful part of Thailand and we feel lucky to have experienced life there Debs

If heaven were a place on earth, this would be it! Nina and her family have been incredibly welcoming and loving—I instantly felt like part of the family. As the previous Workawayer mentioned, the work was relaxed and informal, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I helped with organizing, cleaning, mucking out stalls and pasture, grooming and feeding the beautiful horses, and assisting with English and exercise for Nina’s daughter and family. Nina also taught me felt work and how to ride bareback, which was AWESOME! I spent two weeks here, and the day after I left I already felt homesick—I’ll definitely be returning because I loved it so much. Every day felt rewarding and meaningful, and life was peaceful. It’s a wonderful place to get grounded and live more mindfully and less wastefully. And don’t even get me started on the food—it was absolutely divine! I highly recommend this place to anyone, especially those with handyman skills. There’s always something to do, and you’ll be doing it in absolute paradise.
