I'm an elementary school teacher, married with two grown sons, and I have a passion for travel & meeting people from different cultures. I have more vacation time over the summers than my husband, so Workaway is a perfect choice for me to travel. My hobbies include many sports, especially biking, hiking, yoga, and swimming, as well as reading, journaling, and cooking. Friends know they can count on me to lend a hand.

Susan was a wonderful addition to our family. She was flexible, adaptable and very pleasant. She saw where I needed help and took the initiative to fill in the gaps. She is a great cook, excellent with children and dogs and has a wealth of knowledge in so many areas. I would definitely recommend her!

My stay in Cooks Creek with Cassandra and her daughters was wonderful! My accommodations were very comfortable and private. Cassandra tries to match the assigned work to the skills of each Workawayer and spells out expectations in a guide. I've never handed over the kitchen fully to anyone before - but I did - which freed up some of my time to tackle other projects around the farm. Susan was fun. We get very few Americans showing up so we immediately said yes to her stay. We didn't really give much direction figuring Susan was a 'mature traveler', that said, we ate really well! My month-long stay at Greg & Krystal's place was fantastic. I was immediately welcomed into their home and my spacious room with ensuite bathroom.
