Description
I am looking for a house and dog sitter for some weeks (min. 5 day) in the coming months upon your availability. I am bit flexible with my vacation dates; I would actually be interested in the following stays (no need for the whole time, lets just talk about it as there is flexibility)
22JUN-29JUN whole time
14JUL-15AUG partly
28AUG-28SEP partly
10OCT-24OCT at least 1 week
17DEC-06JAN as much as possibleTypes of help and learning opportunities
Animal Care
Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are situated in the North of Eifel Nationalpark, approx. 30min by train to Cologne and Aachen. The Netherlands with Maastricht, Roermond, etc are approx. 60min away by car, so is Belgium with Spa, Liege or the Ardennes. Its a perfect quiet place to wind down, but not being in the middle of nowhere. Arriving by train is possible but you would prefer to have a car or motor bike depending on your activities: Castles in NL, a day trip to Belgium, a day trip to Eifel Nationalpark.
Help
I need a dog sitter who takes care of my 14-year old dachshund. He is an older, quiet dog, having arthrosis, that needs a lot of pipi breaks so you can't just leave him at home and be gone. So ideal for a remote worker who likes to do some steps (like 30min is already sufficient) in the morning and/or evening. The dog, Friedrich, is a rather slow walker but comes to live in the woods. Easy walking is max 60min, after that he needs to rest. But we have a dog stroller if you need longer walks or do trips to the cities.
Wake up time is 7am, where he needs to pee and get breakfast, after that he goes to sleep for 2h straight (where you dont need to stay with him). He will bark a lot at home when he is hungry and nobody around which is usually after 2pm. This needs to be avoided and suit your schedule. All in all he is super cute, cuddly and easy going. Just the barking could be annoying but only happening when no one is around and I try to avoid that.Languages spoken

You will have the whole flat to yourself. Big kitchen, living room with standing desk and monitor, rooftop terrace 20qm, double bed room, bathroom with shower and bath tub, washing machine and dryer.
Langerwehe train station 600m, takes 35min to Cologne or less to Aachen. Living here would be easily possible without a car, you can use my mini bike for grocery shopping (2km) but to get most out of it, a car would be better. What else ...
IMPORTANT: I am not around so I cant provide 3 cooked meals. You'll find milk and oats, bread, pasta and sauces, some veggies and cans. I have fresh salad on the terrace to harvest. Please be aware that you might stock food up on your expenses. If you arrive with more than 1 person (if agreed on this), food is not provided, I am sorry.
Cologne, Düsseldorf, Maastricht are all within less then an hour away and great cities to discover. If you love nature our place is perfect: Horse riding, hikes, mountain biking or just relaxing in the sun.
