    Description

Hello, I’m Eran, and I’d like to welcome you to my small farm in South Alentejo, surrounded by beautiful nature.

I’ve been living in Portugal for about 10 years and bought this land in 2020. Before settling here, I spent many years doing exactly what many of you are doing now — traveling, volunteering and working on eco-projects, permaculture farms and intentional communities. Along the way I learned many practical skills, and also a lot about living and working with people.

These days I work mainly as a carpenter. In the past I also worked in technical special effects for cinema, and have been involved in building wooden structures, solar systems and irrigation systems.

Right now the main focus here is finishing the house I’m building on the land. Most of the help I’m looking for is hands-on building work — carpentry, construction details, creative problem solving and general practical tasks.

If you enjoy building things, learning practical skills and working with your hands, this can be a really interesting place to spend some time.

There is also some farm work, like taking care of trees, maintaining the compost system and other small permaculture tasks around the land.

Life here is quite simple and close to nature. Volunteers stay in a caravan, and we use compost toilets and outdoor hot showers. People who enjoy simple living and being close to nature usually feel very comfortable here.

Two sweet and friendly cats also live here and will most likely try to adopt you during your stay.

What I’m building here is not just a house, but also a kind of creative playground — a place where practical simplicity can meet creativity, honest communication and fun.

I appreciate volunteers who are curious, open-minded and willing to participate. I usually prefer people who can stay at least a couple of weeks, because it takes a few days to get into the rhythm of the place.

One thing that is important for me:
I believe that life and work can also be play. When people are building something together, learning together and laughing together, the work becomes much more enjoyable.

If you write to me, please tell me a little about yourself and what attracts you to this project.
And to make sure you read the description, please include the word “carpenter” somewhere in your message.

It should go without saying… but I feel it’s still important to say clearly: this is an LGBTQ+ friendly space.

If this resonates with you — come play and help build something real.
