Simo was amazing. He stayed with us for around 5 weeks. He is an incredible cook and made incredibly tasty meals every day and it seemed like every one was different. A chef in the past it really shows, he can open a fridge, plull out any ingrediants and cook up something delicious. Simo is also very IT literate and helped me with editing reels on Filmora. He also ran video interviews and is a very perceptive interviewer. He always put in 100% effort into everything he did. In addition to being very capable Simo is a very kind and interesting person. I really enjoyed our lunch time chats. Simo - I wish you all the best. Anyone who has you as their Workaway is very lucky. All the best for the future, Fiona and family

Bill and Jan made me feel instantly welcome in their home. I was uncertain about my arrival time, and ended up arriving quite late, but Bill was very reassuring, and picked me up when I arrived. The work they gave me was very achievable, largely outdoor physical work, and cooking, which was a real pleasure. They are real stand up members of their community and you will really feel like you are seeing maori culture. They took me to the maori language classes that Bill teaches, to a sheep shearing competition, and integrated me into their religious ceremony they host on a Sunday. Also, Evaliss who they look after from time to time was great fun, too. Thank you so much for your hospitality, Bill and Jan! I really had an amazing time

It was a real pleasure hosting this volunteer on our farm. During his stay, we built a coffee stand together, and he consistently went above and beyond the expected work hours. His positive energy made the whole experience enjoyable, and we had many great conversations along the way. Despite being in his sixties, he worked with the energy and determination of someone much younger. He is highly skilled, especially with DIY projects, and approached every task with care, creativity, and dedication. His experience and practical knowledge were incredibly valuable to the project. I truly appreciated his help and the spirit he brought to the farm. I would happily recommend him to any host looking for someone reliable, hardworking, and great to be around.

Staying with Ange and Monty was delightful! They were always very generous welcoming hosts which made us feel at home. We did a variety of different jobs including apple picking, gardening, restoring a shed, and other projects which kept it interesting. We had a lovely room with our own bathroom in a very organized artsy house. We shared cooking and meals with Ange and Monty and got to learn a lot about New Zealand culture. 100% reccomend this stay to any travelers looking for a nice stay with cool hosts.

Paihia and Bay of Islands are beautiful places. I just love it. Luckily the weather was favourable. Janie is great person who has been travelling a lot. Her place is in a walking distance from Paihia center and during the low tide it can even be reach by beach. The house is at the beach. Stunning views. I did some gardening, painting and cleaning Janie's car. All work was easy and independant. Janie makes nice vegan food. Dinner time was always very nice. Good food and nice conversation. We share similar values and principles, so we get together very well. Love to come back one day. I was able to see and experience a lot: Waitangi, Cape Reinga, walked around the bay (Paihia, Opua, Russells) 22 km and sailed with big old wooden sailing boat (Tucker Thompson Tall Ship) around the Bay of Islands. One evening I even participated sailing race, even though I am not a sailor.

I had an amazing stay with Victoria and Julz, the three of them are a super welcoming family. They gave me advice on what to visit and helped me get there if it worked out. Their house has an amazing garden overlooking the hills, perfect if you want to relax a bit in the countryside. I mostly worked in the garden, they helped where they could and were flexible with the hours. Would have loved to stay longer, will definitely give them a text next time I am in the Northland.

Johannes is flexible, motivated, and always reliable. He is patient, calm, and easy to work with, and he was incredibly helpful whenever something needed fixing or figuring out. We really appreciated having him around and recommend him to anyone. We would love to have him back.  Hope to see you again soon.

I had a really wonderful experience with this family during my Workaway stay. I took care of two adorable children who are very active, full of energy, and always ready to play. They are lively but also very sweet, so spending time with them was always fun. The family made me feel welcome from the very beginning and included me in several family trips and activities, which made the experience even more special and authentic. Another highlight was Joy, the nanny, who cooks absolutely amazing dishes! Sharing meals together was always a great moment of the day. I would definitely recommend this family to anyone looking for a positive, dynamic, and welcoming Workaway experience.

Staying with Jacinta, Marco, Zailie and Ari was so lovely. They accepted my last minute enquiry about doing a Workaway with them for just under a week as I had plans to go to Perth afterwards. I made some healthy plant based treats for Zailie and Ari ( snicker bar alternatives, avocado chocolate mousse, banana and apple oat pancakes, orange and almond meal muffins) I made some other vegan and gluten free meals, I sorted out the pantry and the Christmas decorations and I spent some time playing music and doing some reading with Zailie. They are very laid back, flexible, communicative and super kind. They let me stay in their apartment which I had to myself, it felt like total luxury. I also got to explore their area which is so beautiful. They travel a lot and therefore have a very wide outlook on life, lots of interesting conversations are to be had with them. They were very pleasant to be around as well as their two lovely dogs Indie and Dexter. I felt a bit sad to leave so soon but hope to see you all again in the near future. Wishing you all the best and thank you so much for having me.

I had such a wonderful time here. From the very beginning, Asanka and Nirosha made me feel completely at home with their warm hospitality and genuine kindness. They are incredibly generous people who truly went out of their way to make my stay special; whether it was sharing their delicious, authentic local home-cooked meals or taking me out on short excursions to show me the beauty of the area. I’ve absolutely loved the atmosphere of the property; it’s a vibrant, social community surrounded by beautiful trees and animals, which made for such a grounding environment. A special highlight was getting to know their lovely daughter, Kawya, and of course, getting cuddles from their adorable cat, Sunni! I also want to mention Li Xuan, the coordinator, who was consistently responsive, organized, and helpful throughout the whole process. Thank you all for your warmth and for making my time here so memorable. I’m leaving with a full heart.

Julia and Patrick stayed at our house for 5 days. They took excellent care of our dog when we were away. They also did some cleaning for us which was of a very high standard. They are friendly, organised, great communicators. I would not hesitate to recommend them to hosts.

I’m really happy that I got to spend a week at here with Adela, Lázaro and their kids. Volunteering there was a great experience full of discoveries – the area is huge and there are so many animals – and new tasks almost every day, from raking leaves and working in the greenhouse to even helping move a bee colony. The area can get quite hot, but the working rhythm is adapted to the heat, which made it easy for me to adjust. Adela and Lázaro welcomed me very warmly and made it easy to feel at home from the beginning. There was always delicious food and lots of laughter. One week was just enough to get a small insight into their work, and I really admire how much passion and energy they put into what they do. I can definitely recommend volunteering there! ¡Muchísimas gracias, Adela and Làzaro!

My sincere apologies for the delay in writing this! Margherita was a true joy to have in our village. She has a wonderful way with children; her English lessons were so much fun that the kids fell in love with learning. She is incredibly hardworking and responsible. She transformed our guest rooms with her beautiful painting and decorations, and kept everything spotless. What we appreciated most was her willingness to help with anything; she never hesitated or made us feel burdened, always ready to jump in with a smile. We were also touched by how she helped promote our guesthouse—we’ve seen so many more guests because of her! Thank you, Margherita, for your kind heart and all your help. You are always welcome back to our home. We miss you

First of all, I must apologize for the delay in writing this review. We really wanted to share what a wonderful experience we had with Dom. Dom was an incredible help to our tiny village. He spent a lot of time teaching English to our local children, and he did it with such patience and kindness. The kids truly loved learning with him! Beyond teaching, Dom went above and beyond by helping us promote our accommodation. Thanks to his efforts and creativity, our place has become much better known, and we have seen a significant increase in guests interested in staying with us. It has made a real difference to our community. Dom is hardworking, friendly, and very reliable. We are so grateful for his time here. Any host would be lucky to have him! You are always welcome back, Dom. Thank you again!

Camille & Clemence. They are an exceptional team, strong, enthusiastic, and willing to learn new activities. They have different skills and can handle a wide variety of daily tasks, from electrical work to agriculture, gardening, painting, and more. Their outstanding participation in: • Hydroponics projects • Seed germination • Construction of the pizza oven • Painting the palapa floor • Gardening • Bar reconstruction • Solar panels • General maintenance It is absolutely remarkable; they completed all their tasks with 100% quality, adding a personal touch. The cheesecake is amazing! I already miss them; they create a good atmosphere that invites everyone to stay close to them, whether dancing salsa at La Sirena or watching a polo match, cooking chilaquiles, working together, or spending a pleasant day kayaking in the Caribbean Sea. I hope they return soon, and I definitely recommend them for your projects.

Georgia and Brenda & I clicked from the first time we met in Wellington. Then we drove to meet the six other Workawayers at our orchard, and what a time we had, with so much weeding and laughter! And carrying bamboo poles to be cut up ready for future selling. We got so much done in such a short time: punctuated by coffee breaks next door and a quiz night at the nearby pub. It was sad when we had to say goodbye for now, but hopefully we’ll meet again in the future.

I had an amazing time working here! Form the moment I entered the school, I was greeted by tons of kids eager to practice their English and learn more about me. The days were definitely rigorous starting school at 7 and ending around 2:30, but if you enjoy working with students the time flies by. I assisted during the morning classes and then was the head teacher for 2 classes in the afternoon. Classes are between 15-25 kids and depending on what grade you have can definitely change your type of teaching style. On weekends I visited San Pedro Sula, different pools around town and shared meals with students and their families. I also spent the afternoons at the gym with other teachers from the school. The town itself is pretty safe and people are friendly. Also the house for volunteers is about 10 minutes walking from the school, town center, grocery stores. I highly recommend volunteering in Cofradia if you're good working with kids between 5-15 years old, you enjoy meeting new people/practicing your Spanish and want to eat delicious baleadas and pollo chuco!
