    Description

Kia ora! We’re Julz, Victoria, and our little sidekick Louis. We live up in the peaceful hills of Kaeo with epic views, fresh air, and plenty of good vibes.

We’re an outdoorsy bunch who love hitting the beach, kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing, walking in nature, and pottering around in the garden. Our place is a lifestyle block that we share with three cheeky cats, a happy dog, two cuddly cows, and five super-friendly sheep.

Victoria has a three-year-old food forest that she’s built from scratch. She starts everything from seed in her greenhouse and is always excited to share what she’s learned along the way.

Since welcoming baby Louis, we’d love an extra pair of hands around the place to keep things running smoothly. Nothing too heavy, just gardening, helping out in the food forest, a bit of housework, or giving Julz a hand with odd jobs.

In exchange for 5 hours of work per person, 5 days a week, you'll have a comfy queen bed to sleep in, enjoy three tasty vegetarian meals each day, and benefit from flexible hours that leave you plenty of time to explore and enjoy everything Northland has to offer.

We’re both born-and-bred Kiwis and have been living in the Far North for the past three years, so we can point you to all the best local spots—whether that’s hidden beaches, great walks, or epic camping spots.

Around home, we love sharing what we know. Victoria can show you the ins and outs of growing food from seed, food forest gardening, and greenhouse growing, while Julz is always up for passing on his practical DIY skills. You’ll get a real taste of rural Kiwi life, with plenty of time to relax, chat, and enjoy the laid-back lifestyle up here.

    What else ...

We’re tucked away in the quiet hills of Kaeo, with stunning views and a very serene atmosphere. If you love beaches, bush walks, and nature, you’ll be in paradise ! We are rural, so having your own car is ideal, but Victoria is often out and about and can help with getting into town sometimes.

    Profile photo of Pod

    Pod

POD is our oldest cat and a very shy fellow. You’ll be lucky to catch a glimpse of him, and even luckier if he lets you give him a gentle pat. He’s a beautiful, fluffy boy who enjoys the quiet life and watching over the household from his peaceful spots.

    Profile photo of Leo

    Leo

Leo is an SPCA rescue. He’s a tripod, missing his back left leg, but that doesn’t slow him down one bit! He’s the most affectionate little guy, always hopping around the house with a playful spirit. You’ll often catch him chasing the other animals or curled up napping in the comfiest spot he can find.

    Profile photo of Bagheera

    Bagheera (2 years)

Our cat Bagheera is the true “top dog” of the property. Beloved by everyone, he’s as cool as they come — adventurous, playful, and always up for following you around the garden or climbing trees. Best mates with the dog, he’s full of character and will almost certainly steal your heart.

    Profile photo of Azula

    Azula (2 years)

Azula is an SPCA rescue who’s full of love. She’s playful, adores her walks, and is best buddies with the cats. A total sweetie, she’ll steal your heart with just a glance. She has wonderful manners and gets especially excited when it’s playtime!
