Erfan is from Iran and has studied in Turin and has a degree in engineering. He came to me before the war started and was a very good worker And even though after the war started and he could not contact his family, he didnt waiver in any of the jobs I had given him although, as you can immagine he was in pain and worried. He is a very gentle person, very respectful and very clean. He participated willingly in all of my dinner parties, we are all around sixty years old, but he took part in our conversations and even cooked iranian food for us. He had in fact brought some iranian saffron for us especially. He is now looking for a job but being iranian he is extremely penalised and I am so sorry that such a wonderful gentleman like this should be in this situation. I sincerely recommend this incredible young man.

My volunteering experience with Mila was a real pleasure. I spent two weeks in Keelung, and I enjoyed every single day there. It’s a vibrant town with so many spots to explore on long walks, and you’ll have plenty of free time to wander and discover it at your own. The accommodation is cozy and perfectly located, making it easy to enjoy the area. Tasks are tailored to your skills, so you can focus on what you genuinely enjoy. Communication and task instructions are handled online, which is good to keep in mind. The project itself is truly special, you can really feel how much heart has been put into it. 🌞 On top of that, the community and the other volunteers I met were kind and fun, and we had an amazing time together. My stay went by sooo fast (and it wasn't that rainy so don't worry abt the weather!) 🫶🏽

I had a really lovely time at Helena and Justin's place. They are genuine, generous, and kind people who make you feel at home as soon as you arrive! They are very flexible with the work and make sure that you also have time to explore. I would definitely recommend a stay here and will remember it fondly. Thank you Justin and Helena and Chika and Gogo☺️

These two remind us of us… they were an absolute pleasure to host. They were full participants in this community. They totally understand the energy exchange and were very helpful with not only what we asked but whatever was needed. They go above and beyond in everything they do which helps the community run flawlessly. They are engaging and we loved sharing stories and ideas together. Their artwork is incredible and we are so glad they left their foot and fingerprints everywhere. We highly recommend them to anyone as volunteers and free spirits. Big hugs to you and waiting to see you again.

Alex stayed with us on the farm for three weeks. He is open, friendly, and helpful, both at work and in the community. He always carried out the tasks assigned to him conscientiously. Whether in the house or on the farm, he enjoyed helping out. He is interested in the processes and eager to learn. It was a pleasure hosting Alex, and thank you again!

I had a great week with Natalie, Damo, Holly, and my partner in workaway crime, Sam. Getting out into the country and jumping into the life of a young family is certainly a dynamic experience — between working full time, a family, their own small farm, and hosting workawayers, it’s a very full life!! Most of my work consisted of mitigating rats tail (tough tough weed!), mowing, whippersnipping, plus a bit of weeding and mulching the fruit trees. Whenever i had questions or hit hurdles, Damo was ready to help, even fresh off a 12 hour night shift! What a guy. With the hosts' busy schedule, you'll be best off initiating communication about projects or making arrangements for your free time. Some of my favorite things here: - The beautiful solitude of the country, the bird calls like nothing i’d ever heard - Sitting on the porch, petting Banjo with one hand and Lana with the other - Reading or dozing in the hammock - Coming together for a shared meal at the end of the day, with wonderful cooking from Natalie and Damo and always a bit of dinner theater from Holly hahah You will certainly feel like part of the family here. All my best to these fine folks!

I had an amazing time at the little farm. Yeldos and Gulnar were such warm-hearted and welcoming people and I'm so grateful that I got to meet both of them. We had really interesting conversations and always a lot of tea and good food and they shared a lot about their culture and perspectives. I got to meet some of their friends and family, which was amazing. I even learned some Russian and Kazakh words. The work hardly felt like work at all, just because I had such a good time whilst doing it. The nature and surroundings are stunning and I will definitely come back some other time to visit them and to explore more of the mountain area and lakes. Thanks for everything and all the best to you!

Having Valentina with us for 10 days was so good. She immediately understood what was important for us and completed her tasks fantastically! She had a good eye for details and our home was always tidy and clean thanks to her ! She had a calm attitude ( even the multiple times she would have just missed the bus 😂😂) and that makes everyone feel relaxed and comfortable. Another great experience for us ! All the best Vale !

Ava was an absolute ray of sunshine in the community here. She brought such a caring, uplifting energy and was always looking out for the people around her. She was up for anything and really threw herself into the experience, from challenging herself in the kitchen and creating beautiful meals for our communal dinners, to hosting lovely stretching and journaling workshops. She also added so much to the space creatively, especially with her amazing sign writing and artwork. Ava really cared deeply about both the space and the community, and it showed in everything she did. She also fully embraced the experience (especially the ecstatic dance!), which made her such a joy to have around. We can't wait to welcome her back and see her here again someday :D!

Veronika was such a special part of the community here. She was always up for anything, whether it was construction, art, or whatever else needed doing. She wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty and really pushed herself out of her comfort zone. She made some great contributions to the space, like creating a cutlery drawer divider, big leaves installation and helping improve different areas around the space (plus surviving being our “compost victim” 😄). She also brought so much energy in other ways, hosting morning workout sessions and being an amazing part of the school project and arranging volleyball evenings. On top of all that, she’s a really sweet and caring person who constantly lifted others up and made people feel seen and appreciated. We’re super grateful to have had her here and would happily welcome her back with open arms anytime :D

Lale was honestly such a magical part of the community here. She brought such a warm, loving, and fun energy that really lifted the whole space. She’s super creative and built a beautiful wooden archway for the entrance to our workshop area. More than that, she was just a joy to have around. Always smiling, positive, and bringing good vibes wherever she went. We’re really grateful she came, and she always has a home away from home here now. Definitely recommend her to any host looking for someone who brings great energy and creativity into a place!

Steffi and Hōri are truly some of the kindest, most generous people I've ever met. From the first moment I arrived they made me feel so welcomed and at ease, which I really appreciated as it was my first time on a workaway. The 2 weeks I stayed flew by, and I found myself wishing I could've stayed longer! Their boys were so sweet and I adored them both immediately. The whole family has such an inspiring, positive outlook on life and I feel very honoured to have been apart of it. I learnt so many new things whilst working in the garden, as Steffi (and Matai-Nuku!) pointed out various new plants to me and showed me how to identify them. I found the work so therapeutic and rewarding, from clearing the orchards to weeding the vegetable beds. My favourite thing though was when I was watching the boys and we'd go on walks, play in the sandpit or explore the beautiful garden. The accommodation they provide is perfect - a cute wooden cabin that's separate from the main house and includes a bedroom, kitchen, shower and compost toilet. It's so cozy and peaceful and gets lovely sun in the mornings. They grow an incredible amount of fruits and vegetables and I was able to help myself in order to cook my dinners. Breakfast and lunch was had with the family and every meal was delicious and fresh. My dietary requirements were also very graciously catered for, which I really appreciated. I would absolutely recommend staying with Steffi and Hōri - I will never forget my time there and they have genuinely solidified to me what is important to value in life. They are a real inspiration ☺️

My 1 month stay at Shannon's farm was amazing. Shannon is a lovely person and Jeff made the best pizza. The work was walking with the dogs and feeding the horses and chicken. It was simple and I had enough free time to do whatever I wanted to do. I really enjoyed my stay at her farm even I could't do to much because the properties around the house are all privat. But I had the chance to visit some lakes around the house and 100 Mile House. I totally recommend Shannon's farm and the dogs and the horses are the best. I had so much fun and I laugh a lot. I would love to go back anytime. Thank you for the time! <3

Mariella lived and worked with us for three weeks. In early March, when the snow fell, the temperature dropped to minus 15 degrees, for almost two weeks there was no sun. Then the snow began to melt and everywhere was dirt. Despite all the climatic difficulties, she endured them. After all, despite the snow and frost, rain and dirt she had to work on the farm. She is very punctual, values time. But at the same time knows how to work with those who are always late))). Performs the assigned work carefully and on time. At the same time, she gets up early to feed chickens and goats. She goes to bed late because she teaches her classes online. I sometimes wonder when she’s sleeping!? She is only 20 years old, but she has a lot of wisdom and life experience. Therefore it is easy to communicate with her and she has something to learn. Thanks to her (and Thea) Gulnara and I were able to go rest for a day and a half. It was very important event for my family. We called Mariella "the chicken Master" because she taught two other girls how to tend chickens. Thank you Mariella for leaving a mark in our hearts. We look forward to seeing you again. Yeldos, Gulnara, Raya
