Description
Looking for a confident female who absolutely loves dogs as we are expecting puppies mid February-
We currently only have one space in March, June and August ❤️🇨🇦
For September through to December preference for 2-3 months if possible 🥰
If you’re friendly and active please send us a message.
Do you love dogs and horses? Do you enjoy eating steak seafood and ice cream? Do you love to ride walk and talk? We could be a family for you ♥️
During October to February we will be hosting meat eaters- if you’re already booked with us vegetarian diets aren’t a problem- thanks for understanding 🥰
Preference given to females with horse and dog experience
If you prefer vegetarian dishes we will ask you to help with meal preparation and planning ♥️
We have a new German Shepard puppy- his name is Rumble
We also have other farm animals: 🐴🐔🐰🐶🐷🦆
Let your next adventure start here 🤗
If you don’t mind brushing horses, walking and playing with dogs, doing minor house cleaning duties and are a responsible and active person who can follow a schedule- please send us a request.
Please search the area we live in so you can be prepared for our Canadian farm, we are happy to answer any and all questions prior to your stay here.
Due to living arrangements we have availability for FEMALES only (PLEASE don’t be offended) and we don’t feel we can accommodate Vegan diets here- sorry.
Buses only run to our town (100 Mile House) 3 days a week- contact Ebus for further information.
We have a 5 bedroom home located on 30 acres with a barn for the pigs, chickens, pasture for our 4 horses, Holland lop bunnies, and 4 dogs who live with us. We just added a yearling horse this summer so Biskit is a project ♥️🐴. We are a quiet couple with no children. We both work away from the home so we are looking for dog care; that will include daily walks in the quiet area of Bridge Lake. Pig care will include feeding and watering the pigs. Horse care will be minimal, unless the work away guests have experience handling or riding horses. We have chickens who lay eggs. The chickens jobs will include: chicken coop clean up, collecting eggs, feeding and giving fresh water daily.
We also have ducks 🦆 ♥️
We may request some minimal house duties including sweeping, meal preparation and laundry. We are 40 minutes away from 100 Mile House and 2 hours from Kamloops. It is very quiet here and it is very relaxing. Come enjoy the views, our pets and the lovely nature all around. There is plenty of wildlife in the area and plenty of lakes to swim in summer months.
Culturally, we welcome work aways to make a favorite dish from their home country, share their home life and discuss the differences with living in BC Canada. As we open our home to others we expect our guests to be respectful to our way of life and we expect you to treat all of our animals with love and care. We offer a variety of food dishes respecting individuals food preferences. We appreciate open communication and work hard to understand each person who comes here to help us. We are happy to improve your English skills when you are here, as we understand it is a complex language.
We have WiFi but we would like our helpers to enjoy the wilderness as much as possible. So, if you want to look at your phone 24/7 find another host family. Being connected is fine, but not all the time. 💕
MOSQUITOES seem to enjoy feasting on our workers; so please don’t be surprised, bring bug repellent or buy it here locally. Once the bugs die, it will rain, so bring rain gear. And in the winter it snows. We have a lot of snow in the winter, so bring warm winter/snow clothes. We do have a collection of helmets for riding so no need to bring your own ♥️🐴
All interested people will get a reply within 24 hours.
WE CAN’T ACCEPT WORKAWAYERS WITH DOGS or CATS -SORRY.
Pick up from 100 Mile House. You can easily travel from Vancouver to 100 Mile House on a bus. If you need assistance or suggestions for travel please contact us.Types of help and learning opportunities

We are a typical Canadian family who work hard to enjoy the farm life. WE are a friendly, easy going couple who enjoy the simple things in life. We can offer basic horse care lessons, pig experience, dog care and basic gardening skills. We can take work away guests to local shopping areas and provincial parks upon request. We are happy to share a Canadian expereince and would be happy to share any information that you may want or need. We are able to take our work aways on a local horse ride, if they have some riding experience or if beginner riders. Breakfast available daily; toast, yogurt, cereal and/or tea and coffee. For lunch, work aways can prepare their own lunches with the groceries in the fridge. Dinner and meal planning will be discussed with each individual. Some meal prep may be required for dinners. We don’t drink milk here, but we can provide milk if requested. We can take travelers to the local grocery store if requested.
Help
Our biggest need will be our dogs; helping walk and entertain them during the day times. All our dogs are friendly and easy to manage. Buster is big and full of love and energy. He is a cross of: German Shepard, Lab and Newfoundland. Buster can be very strong, so we would prefer work aways with some experience with dogs and canine behaviors. Stella is a lab/husky and is very friendly, loves to chase balls and loves to cuddle. Stella is the dominant dog here. The dogs will need approximately 1-2 hours of walking per day. Minimal house duties may include: sweeping, laundry and keeping the kitchen tidy. We are also happy to take volunteers into the local town once a week or to the local farmers market (this is a seasonal opportunity) or to the local gift shop. Pigs will need to be fed and watered twice a day, this will only take 15 minutes. Horse duties will only be necessary if the volunteers have horse experience. If you are looking for basic horse skillls and experience at our home this can also be offered on a weekly basis pending home owners work schedule.
As fall weather approaches we will be collecting fire wood as well, so help may be needed to stack wood (no experience required for this fun activity) :)Languages spoken

Own bedroom with queen size bed and bathroom in downstairs of our house.
We have a second guest room with a queen size bed, if we have an overlap of travelers.
We do have internet services here, but it is limited. What else ...
We have our house in a quiet area, with plenty of wildlife to see. Horse trails and dog walks and lakes to swim in all over. If you love nature, birds, hikes, horses, dogs, chickens and pigs - come visit us in BC Canada!
Please contact us if you have any questions, thanks!
We want our work aways to be comfortable here and communication is very important to us.
Preference given to active, positive female workers as our dogs can be protective (this is also a bonus for you as our dogs will keep you safe as you explore the wilderness).
Thanks to everyone who has contacted us with interest and positive energy!
