    Description

We’re a relaxed, friendly family based on the Gold Coast looking for a kind, responsible female Workawayer to join us over the June/July school holidays. Preferably from June 8th to July 12th but we are flexible on these dates.

Come and join us in our home on our beautiful sandy creek, 1.4km from the spectacular beaches of Burleigh and Palm Beach. We have two active, fun-loving boys aged 8 and 11 who enjoy the outdoors, sports, and a bit of adventure. They’re independent but love having someone engaged and energetic around.

We’re mainly looking for help with childcare during the school holidays, including keeping the boys entertained (outdoor play, activities, outings), school holiday drop-offs/pick-ups or local trips and light supervision during the day. As well as occasional help with simple meals.

A valid driver’s licence is essential, as you’ll have access to one of our cars for school runs, activities, and outings with the boys. You will also be able to use a car for local trips during your time off.

You'll be staying in a large bedroom with a double bed and large wardrobe. You can access the creek from the rear of our property and you're welcome to our bikes, surfboards, and stand-up paddle boards so you can make the most of your downtime.

We’re looking for someone who is friendly, reliable, and has the energy to look after two active boys.

If you’re looking for a laid-back coastal stay with a welcoming family and a great base to explore the Gold Coast, we’d love to hear from you!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We’re a social, outdoors-focused family and love making the most of where we live. A big part of the experience is spending time together down on the creek — swimming, paddleboarding, fishing, or just relaxing by the water. The boys especially love sharing this special spot with new people and take real pride in showing others around and getting them involved.

We’re also happy to include you in family outings, trips to the beach, local cafes, and community events around Burleigh if you’d like to join.

In terms of what we can share, we offer a genuine slice of relaxed Gold Coast living — from local knowledge of great spots to visit, to an easy going family environment. Professionally, we bring experience from healthcare and enjoy connecting with people from different backgrounds.

What we value most about hosting is the cultural exchange. We’re keen for our boys to learn about different countries, perspectives, and ways of life, and we really enjoy the fresh energy and ideas that Workawayers bring into our home.
