I stayed with Nicole and her family from February 4-15 of this year. The family left for vacation on Feb 7 and I cared for their home and pets until they returned. I walked their sweet dog daily, fed all three pets, and kept the house clean. Nicole and her family were warm, friendly, and communicative. They provided everything I needed while I lived there. When I was walking the dog, I met many of their neighbors and got to know the area. Nicole is a wonderful host and I recommend her to other Workawayers!

I stayed with Cristiana, Michele, and Ginny for 3 weeks and had an amazing time there! From the beginning, they were so welcoming and even came pick me up at the Pesaro station (one of the closest cities). They always tried to communicate well even before I joined them, which made me feel so relieved. Their house is located up on the hill so I admit that it's better to have your own car, but I didn't have any problem because Cristiana took me to Urbino (another city nearby) when she goes to work, and to other cities by their cars (they took me to a short trip to cities a little farther away too). Most of the days, I was in charge of having Japanese learning sessions with Ginny about for an hour (depending on their schedules each day) and helping with a little household chores. Thankfully, Cristiana held some sessions to teach me Italian and they were always open to let me try speaking in Italian! They also invited me to their family gatherings like having dinner together, so I could enjoy a lot of different Italian local cuisine :) Thank you so much for having me and always being considerate!!

I spent two amazing months at Andrea's place, and it felt like finding a second home. The atmosphere in the house is just lovely, warm, welcoming, and full of good energy. The job was mainly to take care of the house, keeping everything clean, organized, and welcoming for everyone. The animals were absolutely adorable, and Skipper is definitely the star of the house! The location is incredible, everything (the beach!!) is within walking distance, which made daily life so easy and enjoyable. And the view never gets old. No matter how many times you look at it, it’s still just as beautiful. What I loved most was the community. I’ve never met so many wonderful people in such a short time. It’s a place full of connection, sharing, and unforgettable moments. I truly can’t wait to come back one day. Volver! :)

I had the best time at the center! Volunteering there doesn’t really feel like “working” – it feels more like helping a friend and all the animal friends she takes care of (and she truly does it with all her energy and passion). Litsa is a very kind and inspiring person, and I really enjoyed the time I spent with her, the other volunteer, and all the animal buddies. I fell in love with the island, which is wild and incredibly beautiful – especially for hiking in winter – and I’ve already made plans to come back. I will definitely want to help out at the new center again. Unfortunately, I couldn’t stay until the beginning of March when the next sterilisation program starts. I’m sure participating in that is very interesting and rewarding, and definitely something worth supporting. So fellow Workawayers: this is your chance to be part of it! Hey dear Tuula! We miss you already. You were such a wonderful addition to our week. You helped me so much with my household chores and completed every task with great accuracy and care. You were always thoughtful and often went the extra mile — whether it was hanging out the laundry or washing the dishes when I needed support. You noticed what needed to be done without even being asked. That made my day so much easier, and it truly meant a lot to me. My daughter also grew very fond of you. She felt your sincerity and empathy, and that created such a beautiful and natural connection between you two. Tuula is also a very talented massage therapist. She works with deep empathy, presence, and attentiveness. I was experiencing back pain, and she focused with time, precision, and care on my weak areas during the fascia massage. It was incredibly helpful. The yoni steaming was a completely new experience for me, and I absolutely loved it! We shared so many meaningful conversations, good food (and great salads) and a beautiful time together. You are always welcome here! Besitos!! 💛

Geri was amazing, he is a great help, he's very practical and hands on. He cut down a tree, did lots of gardening, helped in the kitchen and did some repairs. Geri was a fun person to have around (hey he's a clown) . I can highly recommend him and I hope he'll come back.

Elliot es esas personas que vienen como voluntarios y acaban siendo amigos y casi hermanos. Elliot tiene una capacidad increíble de adaptación y es una persona altamente social. Fue muy divertido el tiempo que pasamos juntos además nos ayudó en mucho es un gran cocinero se integra genial con el resto de las personas y su español es muy bueno. En cuanto a la ayuda es increíble la energía que tiene tener cuidado de no darle café porque si no no terminarán nunca de trabajar jeje Siempre interesado en aprender cosas nuevas nos ayudó mucho en la renovación de nuestra casa y en la finca siempre levantándose por la mañana pronto para atender los árboles y siempre dispuesto a ayudar en la construcción. Hicimos algunas actividades juntos y todo fue estupendo en la montaña haciendo surf escalando. Esperamos que este verano o cuando sea puedas venir a visitarnos o quedarte a vivir con nosotros en fíos tu pueblo. Si estáis pensando en recibir a Elliot en vuestra casa no lo dudéis es una persona amable trabajadora y social, a la vez es una persona muy independiente . Os recomendó a Elliot sin duda. Sus chistes son muy buenos jajaja

Francesca was a really great person to host as a volunteer. She was very friendly, respectful, enthusiastic, and hard working, bringing good energy to whatever activity was at hand. And that's not to mention the cooking- she was often very happy to prepare from scratch delicious Italian food, and also reignited my love for sourdough baking! All in all, a real pleasure to have around, and a very nice and positive person!

I honestly don't have enough kind words to describe Ebba. She was a wonderful host on all accounts. Her dogs are so cute and well behaved and it was a blast to take them out lots!! We came during the Opera festival and had the privilege to watch her perform twice. Ebba has a passion for music and discussing it with her was so fun and educational. We highly recommend paying her a visit, we honestly couldn't have had a better time. The environment is beautiful and we got to enjoy it, there is a nice pool/gym nearby, Kristiansund has many cute cafe's and churches... the list goes on. Thank you Ebba for your hospitality and kindness and all the time we got to spend together. Wishing you all the best and hopefully see you again soon!! Give our love to Dixie and Cocoes

I truly appreciate all your great work. We had so much fun together! Reena is an extremely reliable person who is always kind, supportive, and willing to help and listen to everyone. She has excellent communication skills, and having her around always brings happiness. We always had a wonderful time together. We miss you so much! Please stop by if you ever have the chance. Constantin is a really great guy to have around, and it was a real pleasure to host him. He is a very switched on, conscious guy, who I enjoyed sharing living space with. Regarding work, he paid good attention to detail, and was thorough, and mindful with all tasks. This also extended to things like cooking and maintaining the space, and I found him to be a very respectful, and good natured in general. Highly recommended!

Ahoj Captain and grazie mille. Your project and vision make me love life and nature more fiercely. my faith in people is so restored. From the second day I was there, I understood that the boat was, in a way, me — and that I had to take care of her and the other pirates the same way I take care of myself. we breathe the same air. Living with other pirates reveals how deeply everything is intertwined, if your soul needs that, be onboard. be ready to sing, be ready to enjoy food like never before. be nourished. I learned to tie knots, to face and soften some of my fears related to water, to trust others, and to respect the natural timing of things ad learning. forget about performative living society tells us to persue - here what matters is being wind, being water, being fire, being soil. Norway, and winter at sea, are harsh- not gonna lie — but the right clothes and share hot tea are great ways to make it though. fair winds again Captain, life is beautiful and i really hope to meet you soon again

Anna stayed with us 2 weeks and was a huge help from day one. She worked highly structured, fast, and with great attention to detail. She did leaf clearing and general garden work, cleaned with impressive precision, and also organized and tidied up areas like the basement. What really stood out was her initiative: she proactively took on many small but important tasks that made our everyday routine noticeably easier—without being asked. She also took excellent care of our hunting dog, Inara, including coat/grooming work, and handled it perfectly—calm, attentive, and reliable. Communication was excellent—clear, dependable, and easy. She’s flexible with plan changes, respectful in shared spaces, and brings great energy to the house. On top of that, Anna is genuinely hilarious. We laughed a lot—she has a sharp, dark sense of humor that’s honestly addictive. She also brought fantastic Italian recipes and made cooking together a real highlight. And she connected wonderfully with our children; they had a lot of fun together and it was great to see. If you want to make her truly happy, point out cats or dogs when you’re out and about—and she also loves cultural recommendations or any local city tips (hidden gems, museums, viewpoints, cafés, anything). She’s curious, engaged, and appreciates those local insights. Any host would be lucky to have Anna. We’d happily host her again anytime and can recommend her 100%.

We stayed with Nicole for two weeks and were so grateful to experience the bush life at her farm! The work is very straightforward with the animals and you can visit the children as much as you'd like during their school day. Our favorites were the dogs and donkeys- all loved to cuddle! We had some opportunities to ride into town with Nicole and visit an orphanage that she also supports. It was very inspiring to hear her many stories and learn how she has built sustainable systems that support local tribes and empower them. The accommodation is lovely- quiet with access to the kitchen and beautiful living room. We often ate our meals on the porch to watch the incredibly big sky. it was a special experience. Thank you so much, Nicole! We hope to come back one day. :)

My first workaway experience could have not been better than this. Pablo has been my host but more importantly, he is now a friend. I've been with him in Tigre for 6 days. Tasks involved different things, from cleaning the apartments, to some gardening, maintenance of the house. He always explained how and tooled me up to easily execute them. Besides spending time together, discussing all topics, kayaking, visiting the city, playing Truco, Pablo also gave me useful advices for the continuations of my trip. We'll meet again as soon as I feel confident enough to win you at Truco :) Ciao bello e grazie mille!

I had such an amazing experience with Guilia and Mateo’s family! They made me feel included, welcomed and comfortable from the first day. I am very lucky I found them because I think it's rare to land in such a happy family ! The kids are lovely, funny, lively and open minded. Always ready to teach me a new game or to talk in English with me. But the parents are truly the best part, I felt like we were friends! They shared their culture, story, habits and the Italian history with me. On top of AMAZING food everyday! They always took me to new places I needed to visit and did anything they could to improve my stay with them. Always encouraging me to discover the region, go on adventures during my free time as well as supporting me in my personal projects. I even got to meet the grand parents who didn't talk English but had no problem to show me their interest and love for me (bringing me food I need to try and showing me how to cook Italian meals from scratch)! The town of Fano is soooo cute, small streets next to the ocean but everything you need is right there and accessible by bike. In general one of my best experiences as an aupair, thanks to a beautiful family! Thanks a lot! Luna

I had a very good time staying with Tereza ! She made me feel comfortable immediately and made sure I had a comfortable stay. Unfortunately I couldn't stay too long but in the short time I was there I got to meet her amazing friends and wonderful kids and do a lot of fun stuff. Tereza is a really kind, smart and emotionally intelligent and it was a pleasure to stay at her place

I'm so happy to have stayed these past two weeks at the farm with LeAnne and Ian, thank you both so much. It was the best introduction to New Zealand I could have asked for. Having the chance to explore the farm and Taranaki as a whole was amazing, and LeAnne and Ian made it possible. They are so kind and so generous with their accommodation, food, time, knowledge and much more. I appreciate all those drives to town and to the mountain to get me going on different adventures, and fixing up the mountain bike so that I could ride off on my own too. I kept being struck by how much care and support they gave to me on top of all their time and hard work dedicated to the farm. I'm so grateful and hope to visit again during my stay in NZ :)

Hello!! I’m a little bit late, but as they say in Spain “mas vale tarde que nunca” :) This was my very first Workaway experience, and it truly couldn’t have been better. It was even more amazing than I expected! From the very first day, I felt genuinely welcomed into their home and embraced as part of the family. Looking back, I realize that I arrived at exactly the right moment, it was the perfect match between what I was searching for and what they were offering. During my stay in autumn with Iona, Julien, Felix, and Fergus, I had the opportunity to discover new places, meet wonderful people, and immerse myself in a different way of living. I also got involved in many different kinds of work, each of which helped me grow and develop both personally and practically. They taught me so many valuable things (far more than I expected) and I couldn’t be more grateful for everything they shared with me: their time, their knowledge, their patience, and their kindness. They are truly a lovely family, and I will always look back on this experience with warmth and gratitude. It was a special chapter in my life that I will never forget.
