This was my first experience with workaway, and I could not ask for a better host. Jin is an amazing, warm, kind, friendly, fun and hard working lady, respect her rules and you will have a once in the lifetime experience, she made sure we feel comfortable, and provided everything we needed, she also took her time to show us some beautiful places around Chiang Mai, including camping, which was an experience in itself. I will remember this workaway experience for the rest of my life, felt sad to leave. The team was also top tier, open minded people, we made friends for life, and the kids are just the cutest, and surprisingly intelligent, Definitely recommended!!

I had a really amazing time volunteering here! I felt so sad when I left. I painted, created some videos for social media and teached English to children, which is super fun :). The teaching is 3 times a week (Tuesdaymorning, Fridaymorning and Sundaymorning and -afternoon). Recently there are also two Chinese girls who we teached English to. All of the volunteering doesn’t really feel like work; everything is super relaxed, there is lots of free time to explore the area and live like a local :) The Village is small, but that's what I liked so much about it. It's a quiet place, surrounded by trees and birds. It's not a party place, but a place to chill, relax, bike to a nearby coffee place or the market, play some guitar or to just hang out with the other volunteers, which makes the experience even better! Pantila and Mae Nai make sure no day is the same, they are very flexible so if you prefer a certain trip they offer or cooking skill you'd like to learn, I'm pretty sure they will try to arrange this. A big thanks and hug to Pantila, Mae Nai, Buddy and the other volunteers who made this an experience I will never forget and will cherish in my heart <3

I had a truly wonderful experience volunteering here. I helped with social media and enjoyed contributing to a meaningful project while learning so much along the way. I met people from all over the world, learned about the local culture, and gained a deeper understanding of elephants and their protection. There was a big group of volunteers, which created a great sense of community, and from the beginning I felt very welcome — so much so that I decided to extend my stay because it really felt like home. I was happy and grateful to be part of a project like this. I enjoyed my time a lot and would absolutely do it again.

I would like to thank Tara and her family again for hosting me. They were very kind and friendly with me and they always made me feel comfortable. My tasks were to take the kids to school, pick them up, and drive them to their sports activities. They are full of energy, very polite, and nice to spend time with. We ran, played Shangai, and chess (David was too strong for me!!). I also want to thank Tara for the opportunity to eat the food they cooked, especially an amazing cake! They also let me use their car during the weekends, so I was able to travel and visit different places that I really recommend, like Cork, Cobh, and the Ardmore Cliffs. During my stay I could speak English every day, and I feel that I improved my basic level. This was my first Workaway experience and I am very happy and satisfied with how it went. I recommend Tara and her family to everyone!

For four months I stayed in the studio and for those four months I was at home. Natalie and Alok have been very generous, understanding, intuitive and considerate. The mood is serene balanced with an abundance of wildlife and other furry friends. The expectations are always well within reason and will not hesitate to return if the opportunity arises. Miss you all 🫶♥️

Marina and Allan came to help me during one of the craziest moments of my life. I had to move from my 300 m² house in Normandy to my tiny 21 m² flat in Paris! They were so helpful and cheerful that I can never thank them enough. They also made a great team with my 15-year-old son, Paolo. We shared many good conversations, lots of love, and wonderful musical moments. Marina and Allan are very easy-going, autonomous, helpful, and truly considerate. I’m sure we’ll see each other again very soon.

I am so thankful that my first WorkAway experience was with America and Marcos here in Asturias. They taught me so much and seriously changed my perspective on so many things- food, climate change, possible ways of life, etc. Also, importantly, these two are serious climate chaos activists. They stick to their words and live by their sustainable philosophy. Their profile and the contents they share here are truthful and important to understand. They seriously are so metal, so badass, so powerful in their lifestyle. Thank you to Marcos and America for always teaching me so much around a dinner table of delicious, healthy, thoughtful food.

I stayed in arctic Norway for 3 weeks in January/February and thanks to Ines it was absolutely unforgettable. She is super welcoming and easy to talk to. I immediately felt at home and we had a lot of conversations about many different subjects. Her horses and cats are really friendly, curious and enjoy lots of attention. It is clear that they are loved and well taken care of. The chickens also have their own paradise. The surrounding is absolutely gorgeous with mountains, snow and sea around the house. Ines provided snowshoes, a sledge and a typical Norwegian ‘spark’, which made it extra fun to explore the nature. The first 2 weeks I saw the northern lights almost every day, the last week was a bit too cloudy but therefore also warmer. It was exceptionally cold (up to -16) this January, but I have also had a little rain when the temperature was around zero. The daily work in winter consisted mainly of cleaning the horsepoo from the tracks, feeding the horses and playing with or training the horses. I also liked to help with some repair work and cooking. I found it especially interesting to experience all the challenges that the arctic winter brings with it, such as dealing with snowed in doors, frozen horsepoo and preventing frozen water pipes. It was very flexible which days were free and I drove to Tromsø a few times with Ines, so I could do something in the city while she was at work. I can definitely recommend to go skiing, it is a very unique experience to ski to the sea while the sun is setting. I also liked to visit the Troll museum, Polar museum, tourist shops, cafes and the public library. During my stay Ines travelled for a few days, leaving me and another workawayer to take care of the animals and the house. She had explained everything clearly and made sure we had all the groceries we wanted, so we had a great time and it was really nice to be trusted. All in all I am so grateful I could stay with Ines at this amazing place and would definitely recommend!

Originally planned to volunteer for two weeks and ended up staying for a full month — that already says a lot. I really enjoyed this place and company of Boley, Teal and Django. I had the entire guest house by the river to myself, and the time there was incredibly calm, surrounded by nature. It felt very dreamy and peaceful. Just keep in mind the house is self-made, so it is very simple but feels authentic and cosy. When I arrived, they had just opened a forest school, and I volunteered teaching the kids, which was a beautiful experience. My days often started with a 5am surf, then teaching at the school. Riding the scooter through palm fields at sunrise to catch waves was absolutely magical. Boley is very friendly, flexible, and easygoing, and I felt relaxed and comfortable the whole time. He also helped me a lot with practical things around the island. I hope I can come back again!

Edwige and I, stayed over 3 weeks (in January) at Jamie and Hattie's place near Castalla, and overall, we feel happy and really enjoyed our time there. Our accommodation was "the annex", located on the northern side (therefore quite cold in winter and difficult to heat), basic for cooking but independent and with a lot of space. Fine for us. Hattie and Jamie had to go away in turns but there was always one of them on the place and always a good meal ready for us at lunch time, even when they were not there to share it. For the other meals, there was food stored for us in the annex when we arrived and for the last weeks, we were given money to buy our own fruit and veggies. Working time was from 8.30am till around 1.30pm, with a coffee/biscuits break in the morning. Since the place is big and there is much to do, the tasks were pretty varied, multiple, and related to our skills (then we did some roof and gutter fixing with rainwater collection system, build compost bins, sort out the existing heap of compost, pruning of olive trees, weeding, repair shutters, a gate, try to imagine how to solve technical problems ...) We definitely enjoyed starting the day caring for the horses all together. We are thankful our dog was welcome all time with us everywhere. The horses and cats were very friendly with her too. We just regret we didn't stay long enough to meet the newest doggy member Rocky ! On w-ends or afternoons, we enjoyed the surroundings with long walks, cycling and some nice hikes. Shopping in Castalla was easy and close. Most of the time, we worked together with Jamie or Hattie. We definitely had a lot of fun and laughter with them. They are friendly, easy going and have a very positive attitude. We wish them good luck with this huge project with so many things to think and reorganise, but "bit by bit or poco a poco" they will get there, even though sometimes it might take more than "10 minutes" !! ;-D

The few weeks with Chantal were amazing. She quickly became part of the family. She does not need any guidance, she sees something to sort out, she ask and do it. She helped us so much sorting things around, and putting order were it was much needed, which we really appreciate. Culture and knowledge sharing was also a key to Chantal's time with us. Thank you Chantal

Margaux volunteered with us for almost two months, and she was truly one of the brightest and most positive volunteers we have had.She is an incredibly friendly, open and warm person who quickly became part of our community. During her time here,Margaux was responsible, reliable and always ready to help. She built great relationships with both our teachers and students. Her presence brought great energy to the school, and people genuinely enjoyed being around her.

Raban stayed with us for over a month and was an absolutely wonderful helper who gave us a great deal of support. He is cheerful, open-minded, and very polite. He also enjoys sharing his thoughts and is especially good at connecting and playing with children. Everyone here really likes Raban.
