    Description

Imagine the tropical beauty of Bali and the lush landscapes of Hawaii—now place them in Europe, and you get the breathtaking Island of Flores! Nestled in the most stunning part of the island, our homestead in the charming village of Ponta Da Fajã offers a true paradise for nature lovers and adventurers alike.

Our home is a family-run haven, mostly cared for by me, my wife Mica, our adult son Dolev and Nelly our pet dog. We love welcoming volunteers who enjoy nature, sharing good company, and, of course, enjoying delicious food!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We’ve lived in many places (including on a boat for 4 years) and speak English, French, and Hebrew. We’re eager to learn about other cultures and languages, and if you speak Portuguese, it would be a great help as we learn the local language.

Our homestead is surrounded by nature, close to Faja Grande, a larger village. The island is small, but transportation can easily be arranged. In the summer, the island comes alive with young visitors, offering parties and hikes to enjoy together.

  • Help

    Help

We welcome volunteers to help with various tasks around our homestead! We have chickens and ducks that need daily feeding, a small garden that we’re working on developing, and some light diy projects that require an extra set of hands.

If you enjoy spending time in the kitchen, you can also assist with housekeeping and cooking. Mica is passionate about making cheese, baking fresh bread, and preparing delicious meals—this is a great opportunity to learn from her expertise and experience the joy of homemade food!

We’re also excited to learn from our volunteers and share new skills and experiences together.
