Description
I am the mother of a five-year-old child, living with my husband and our little one in Dadu, Taichung. We have a spacious backyard where we hope our child can grow up close to nature. (That also means our backyard could really use some helping hands!)
We believe that education should not be confined to classrooms, but instead rooted in everyday life, nature, and connections. With this vision, we started a co-learning group, inviting parents who also wish for their children to grow beyond the limitations of traditional systems to join us in exploring new possibilities in education.
We value companionship, co-creation, belonging, respect, growth, care, and giving back. Our vision is to create a warm and inspiring space where learning is part of daily life, where families connect with each other and with the land, and where children grow with confidence and imagination.
My place does not involve any business activities, nor am I seeking help for any commercial operation, workawayers won't be asked to help with any profitable projects.

UN sustainability goals this host is trying to achieve

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You will be part of our daily life — sharing meals, playing with the children, and doing tasks together in the backyard or community projects. You’ll also have the chance to connect with other parents and families in our co-learning group. We hope you’ll feel like a friend of the family and a member of our community.
I can share my experiences in parenting, alternative education, and community building. You’ll also have opportunities to learn about gardening, cooking with local ingredients, creative activities with children, and how we explore learning beyond the classroom.
I hope to learn new ways of seeing family life, education, and sustainable living. By welcoming people from different cultures, I believe our family — especially our child — can grow up with a more open heart, inspired by stories, traditions, and ideas from around the world.
Help
The first floor will be open for children to play, so we need someone to help with cleaning and maintenance. As for the backyard, we plan to create a space where children can use different tools with their own hands and also grow vegetables, so we need support to help us organize and set it up.

Accommodation
The accommodation is a private room on the third floor with air conditioning and an outside-facing window. The bathroom is located outside the room. Breakfast is simple and made at home, and you’re welcome to use anything in the fridge. For lunch and dinner, it depends on the day — we might cook together or eat out.

What else ...
Nearby, you’ll find Tunghai University and several walking trails. The house is close to Dadu train station, with Ubike available for cycling, and it takes about 30 minutes to reach Taichung High-Speed Rail station.
