My experience here staying with Maggie really made me feel like a part of the family. During my stay we together went swimming with dolphins, exploring local areas and attending events. She was so kind, hospitable and a lot of fun to hang out with. As for the work it was mostly house/garden chores and special projects that were actually pretty enjoyable. I will miss my stay here, the family and most of all Maggie's beautiful little dog! 💗

We just finished stayed of almost 3 months by Ana and David And for us, it was a big gift to volunteer in them beautiful project that located on one hand, just 10 minutes from the village, but at the other hand in the middle of the nature close to some beautiful river. The work was interesting and we felt that we can learn and express ourselves The breakfasts was experienced by itself with a lot of local and healthy food The bottom line we recommend from our heart to come there and hoping to return to volunteer there again one day

I had a wonderful two-week stay with Luke at his peaceful little oasis surrounded by gardens, animals and nature. The work mainly involved helping in the garden with weeding and general tasks around the property. Luke always made sure the tasks were clear and manageable. I also got to experience real farm life, including helping process chickens and making fresh apple juice. It was a privilege to learn how to properly trim the collapsed flax from the recent floods, leaving the “Father, Mother and Baby” leaves in the center so the plants could recover, a truly educational and rewarding experience. I enjoyed spending time by the river watching the eels and playing with Dream, the friendly dog. Luke is an amazing cook and I really enjoyed the meals he made, especially with the fresh garden ingredients. He is a generous and welcoming host and I would happily recommend staying here to any Workawayer who enjoys nature, farm life and hands-on learning.

I stayed almost two weeks with Mike and I really enjoyed my time there! He has been receiving volunteers for a long time and it clearly shows. He is indeed welcoming, flexible, caring, and very generous. The food he provides is also delicious and more than sufficient. I really liked the freedom he gives us concerning the working hours and days off. The work itself is really varied and depends on what he needs at the moment as well as your skills. While I was there, I helped staining the house, I filled nail holes, and I did some sanding. In your free time, there are plenty of things to do around the area, such as snorkeling, surfing, hiking, biking, or simply exploring Whangarei. Thank you Mike for everything!

Lisa and Tore are extremely kind and welcoming people, without forgetting that they are fantastic parents. I have a lot of respect for all the time they give to their animals and their children: they have a full life! I was happy to be able to help them as best I could. Working with animals was great and allowed me to strengthen my arms aha. The children are adorable. If you like playing fire dogs, this workaway is for you! I wish you only happiness ( and more free time ) lisa, tore, bruno, taavi and of course Alva Tipps and your magnificent horses 🫶

Thank you, Christine, for all the work you’ve put in. You’re someone who works really hard, enjoys seeing what needs to be done, and is happy to keep going a little longer because you want to get it finished. Christine has seen a lot of the world and always has a story to tell. Thank you for your help.

Hi François Thank you for everything. The days I shared with you are my best memories. Every task was new to me, but you taught me so kindly every time. Here is the work I did ・Brushing the walls with sandpaper ・Painting the walls with concrete/plaster ・Helping in the garden Every meal you made was so delicious that I almost couldn't stop eating! Haha. And the bread you bought at the bakery near the house was also amazing. When I was free, I walked around the house. There are some beautiful sights. During my holidays, I went to Namur and Brussels on my own. Both were so good. But my best memory was talking and working with you. Sometimes you told me about Belgian history and politics. It was so interesting! I was very happy to learn from you. We also enjoyed teaching each other English and Japanese. It was truly fun (majide tanoshikatta)! It was a great week. See you again in Japan or Belgium! Rozu

Juan Felipe è una persona molto attenta e affidabile, con la quale il confronto è prezioso. Se lo scambio libero e disinteressato è alla base dell'esperienza workaway, con Juan Felipe tutto è stato facile e, soprattutto, costruttivo. Grazie !

We had nice and fun discussion. So at the end, everything was there to make it a really great and lovely experience. Thank you again and more :).

I am very grateful that I got the oppertunity to stay with this wonderful family and I would absolutely recommend them. I spent about two months with them and I really enjoyed my time there. They always looked out for me, checking that I was feeling comfortable with the work I was doing and that I had everything I needed. My main tasks were shoveling the snow, cleaning up the kitchen, tidying the living room and vacuuming. Sometimes I would also brush the dogs or play with Laurel, the happiest baby ever. The other two kids Jasperna and River are also super fun to be around. On the weekends they would often do some activities with me, like skiing, snowmobiling or visiting the hot springs. They also offered me a ride whenever they went to the Canada Games Center (a big sports center there) or when I planned something like going dog sledding. The studio in their backyard is beautiful and very comfortable. They have a very clear structure and tell you exactly what they expect of you. I find that really nice. Thanks to them I truly got to experience everything that the Yukon winter has to offer.

Zille and Bertil from Denmark stayed a week at our farm. They are a great team working well together. They took care of the chicken and ducks well, observing if any seem unwell and was prompt to inform of sick chicken which died. They helped keep the garden and farm well. We took them to our local small mosque to experience iftar or breaking of fast together with the other villagers. It was a pleasure hosting them and I would welcome them back anytime. Do consider them if you are looking for some good help..!

Hello Giacomo, I had a fantastic 2 weeks. This experience is a must-do. It helps you understand how Buddhism can be useful in your everyday life. I thank everyone for taking care of me even when I was sick! I had the opportunity to do different jobs and learn something from each of them. Thank you, Claire, for always being available and kind to all of us! I hope I also gave and left a small contribution. Highly recommended experience :))) ❤️

I feel incredibly lucky that I got to stay with Naomi & her family - especially for almost 3 months. I felt so comfortable and cared for - Naomi is an absolute powerhouse in all areas of her life & very nurturing, considerate and thoughtful, the boys are so warm and welcoming and Anton's always ready to help where/when needed! Truly generous people you can talk to & have great chats about life with and come to if you need advice or help with literally anything. I always felt welcome to join them but also not pressured to when I needed down-time. The house / location is beautiful, the food is insanely good, the work is very simple and straightforward and overall I had the feeling that it was a balanced and mutual exchange of energy and efforts! I have many lovely memories here and only good things to say about my time here. I don't think you could wish for a better workaway experience. As long as you're prepared to feel a bit heartbroken when it's time to move on. :') So very grateful!

It was an absolute joy hosting Aisha. When she first arrived she housesat for us for three days while we went hiking. We came home to everything taken care of, a beautiful meal and a gorgeous new mural! She was always upbeat, keen to get stuck into projects, proactive and great company. Aisha was keen to work on a mosaic project and worked with my mum to create the most beautiful circular mosaic for our outdoor dining area. We really loved having her here and would absolutely recommend her to any future hosts
