Description
We are a family of five people and two friendly dogs living in Whitehorse. We love the Yukon and enjoy sharing outdoor adventures with visitors! We have a baby, a toddler and a nine year old child, and we both work full time (though Alison is currently on parental leave).
We are a busy, active family looking forward to making new friends to experience the Yukon with.
We have a beautiful independent space for you to stay in, with your own bathroom, kitchenette, living/sleeping area and a separate entrance.
We live in a quiet neighbourhood within Whitehorse City limits, with mountain views and near forests and beautiful trails.
We offer great wilderness activities, downhill skiing and snowboarding, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and northern lights viewing. In summer there is mountain biking, hiking, fishing, canoeing, and camping. Whitehorse also has great dining, arts, and music.
We would be happy to help you enjoy it all!Types of help and learning opportunities

The Yukon offers a unique northern experience!
Come with us on our adventures - camping, skiing, paddling, hiking, berry picking, mountain biking, festivals, snowmobiling, and more!
Experience the true wilderness with all its beauty and opportunities.
Live with life-long Yukoners and learn about our rich history. And enjoy spending time with our baby, toddler and big kid - it is truly a transformative experience to be adored by a child.
We have a canoe, bicycle, snowmobiles, skis and camping equipment available for visitors' use, and we can provide education and help you be successful on your own wilderness adventures.
Depending on the time of year, you could learn how to operate a snowmobile or a chainsaw. We can teach you about dog training and care, mountain biking, wood stove operation, paddling (canoe or stand-up, river or lake), back-country camping, wild berry picking, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing and snowboarding, and more!Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
We are primarily looking for help around the house, cooking and cleaning, yard work (moving/chopping firewood, shoveling snow, raking, etc.) and help with our children and dogs.
We ask that you help for around 5 hours per day, 5 days per week (20-25 hours total per week).
Most of your tasks will take place on weekdays between 2:30 and 7:30 pm but there may
occasionally be tasks at other days/times if we all agree.
You would be a good fit if you are mature, independent, energetic, can cook and clean, like kids and dogs, are adventurous and active, and can take initiative to help make our busy lives a little easier!Languages spoken
