Description
Farm is an 18-acre family farm on Haida Gwaii, surrounded by ocean views and incredible sunrises. Here we share our land with horses, cows, turkeys, sheep, and sometimes pigs, along with two friendly farm dogs.
Life here follows the natural rhythm of the farm: feeding animals, tending gardens, collecting eggs, and enjoying the sounds of waves, and eagles overhead. It’s a lively but welcoming place where we enjoy sharing daily routines, meals, and stories with volunteers.
Our farm is located just south of Tlell, right by the ocean, and we love giving visitors the chance to experience the unique culture and beauty of Haida Gwaii. Helping out on the farm is as much about learning and sharing as it is about getting things done — so bring your curiosity and a willingness to join in with whatever the day brings!Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
A farmstay here is a truly multi-faceted experience. Life on the farm brings daily connection with animals and nature, but it’s also about sharing knowledge, stories, and creativity.
I have a background in animal husbandry, and I work as a farrier, farmer, builder, and musician — and I love to cook. But just as much as I enjoy sharing what I know, I’m excited to learn from the people who come here. Maybe you’ll share a recipe from your home country, teach me a new word in your language, or show me a different way of looking at life.
For me, hosting is about exchange — of skills, ideas, music, and culture. Haida Gwaii is an incredible place to experience all of this: wild landscapes, ocean air, and a community that is as unique as the islands themselves.Help
Life on the Farm
Each day brings something a little different, depending on the season and the weather. You might help feed the animals, gather eggs, or spend some time in the garden planting or picking fresh food. Some days we’ll tackle small projects like mending a fence, tidying up, or giving a coat of paint to something that needs it. Sharing meals is a big part of life here too, so an extra hand in the kitchen — and a favorite recipe or two — is always welcome. Mostly, it’s about joining in with the everyday flow of the place, keeping things comfortable, and learning from each other along the way.
This is my private home, not a business — I’m simply looking for an extra hand with daily life and to share the experience with others.Languages

You’ll stay in our large, comfortable farmhouse, where there are a couple of cozy spare bedrooms with single beds. We share a big kitchen and you’ll have access to running water, a hot shower, and a bathtub. The internet connection is reliable for those who’d like to stay in touch while here.
Music is a big part of life in the house — there’s usually something playing during the day — and we love sharing songs and sounds from different places. It makes for a lively and warm atmosphere.
We ask that smoking be kept outdoors, but otherwise the house is a relaxed and welcoming space to unwind after a day on the farm. What else ...
The farm is centrally located on Haida Gwaii, making it a great base to explore the islands. There are plenty of trails, beaches, and cultural sites nearby.
Just a short 3 km walk north is a cozy café, a nice spot to meet locals and enjoy the community atmosphere.
Life here is lively and full of activity, so volunteers who are easygoing and enjoy being part of a busy household will feel right at home. Meals are shared, and while I do cook with meat, I’m happy to accommodate different diets where possible.
Because there are already a couple of dogs here, I’m not able to host additional pets.
Haida Gwaii is a unique and inspiring place, and I love sharing both the farm and the surrounding community with visitors from around the world.A little more information
