Another great Workaway experience! Amelia is a wonderful, kind, polite and engaging person and it was an absolute pleasure to host her. Amelia stayed with me for a week and each task that was asked of her was executed without fuss and diligently completed. All those little jobs are now complete! Of course hosting a Workaway traveller is not all about the "jobs" there is the sharing of food, experiences and conversations and there was no shortage of time spent on all of these. Amelia is hoping to find some permanent work here in Tasmania and I wish her the best during her stay on our beautiful island and in her future travels. I would highly recommend Amelia to any and all hosts. :)

Our 10 days with Margaret and Marshall were truly wonderful and became very happy memories for us. In the mornings and evenings, we went for walks with Marshall, and our main tasks were cleaning the chalet, ironing, and doing the laundry. Even though our schedule changed due to our circumstances, Margaret was very flexible, and we really appreciate her kindness. During our stay, she also took us to the beach, and we were able to spend very fulfilling and enjoyable days. Thank you so much for everything

Janina stayed with us for around 4 months and was a great help with all the daily chores in the house. She is usually up very early and helps with feeding the little one before she goes to kindergarden. She also respects our privacy and leaves us lots of family time which we really appreciate. We thank her for the contribution and wish her all the best with her next destination

It was a great pleasure hosting Meike. She is a nice person who has no problem with any of the tasks at the farm. Meike has good ´feeling´ for the animals and things seem to go easy for her. No problems with communication as her English is exellent. We think Meike found a good balans between work and private time. All in all we can really recommend Meike as a volunteer at your place!

I had a wonderful stay with Monica and Kyle. They made me feel very welcome and included me in their family life. They were very generous with their time and often took me with them on trips to the beach and farmers' market. They know a lot about food forests and native vegetation in general. I learnt a lot from them. I helped with lots of weeding, mulching, transplanting some bananas, watering the plants and their chicken coop. They also gave me household tasks if I was open to it, which was better given the heatwave we were having. They are kind, patient and funny people to be around. They are also great cooks — the food was diverse and well seasoned, and I will surely miss their cooking! It was a pleasure to meet Kyle's parents when they were visiting. They also have an adorable one-year-old son. Hudson, their dog, was the best workmate/supervisor! I loved my tipi accommodation, I had the best and the outdoor bathroom area was really cool, too. There were even glowworms behind it! Thank you for everything, Monica and Kyle!

Petra and Russell are kind, open-hearted, and knowledgeable people. During my stay, I helped with things like gardening and DIY. They also kindly showed me around places like Oamaru and Dunedin. I was really happy to be able to experience things that I had never had the chance to do before. There were times when my language skills were not enough to communicate as well as I wanted, but even so, I’m very glad I was able to stay with them. Thank you so much, Petra, Russell, and all the wonderful people I met through you.

Nick helped me out this winter, it was a really great encounter! He is super skilled with carpentry work, aswell with most tasks around a farm. He travels with his van, and is able to solve tasks indepentendtly. I recommend him to hosts, especially in the countryside, where he fits very well in. We are very thankful for getting to know him and his help.

George is an amazing guy! Friendly, helpful and repsectful. It was a delight to host him. He has very good values, early to bed and early up. Follows house rules and helps out when needed. He has much experience with travelling, working and living in different places, so it was a great experience for me as a host, as he knows how to be around people in a comfortable manner. I hope he had a good time at my place, I tried to reward him for the effort he put in.

We were originally very happy with our stay with Angela and her family and appreciated being welcomed into their home and project. We shared good moments together, enjoyed the food, and valued the cultural exchange. Upon reflection, and after reading the comments left, we did feel saddened. The work was very physically demanding, particularly for Alan, involving heavy lifting, clearing thick bushes with a machete, and long hours of manual labour. We worked closely alongside the family throughout the day, often under constant supervision, and always gave our full effort. For this reason, we were surprised by the comment regarding phone use. Any short breaks were taken to recover from the physical intensity of the work. Overall, we appreciate the experience and wish Angela and her family all the best with their project.

Anne stayed with us for a few days over the Christmas holidays. She quickly made herself useful in the kitchen and readily offered help with any other tasks that needed doing. She participated with warmth and enthusiasm in our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day celebrations, showing sincere interest in our guests (family and friends from different parts of India). Throughout her stay, Anne was consistently kind, respectful, and considerate. We greatly appreciated her positive spirit and adaptability, and we would be pleased to recommend her to future hosts.

A very smart and sharp young lady! She quickly adapted to the shelter’s routine, and it’s always a blessing to host people like her - those who understand things right away without needing constant repetition. You can have very mature conversations with her, and it was truly a pleasure to have her around. Thank you for joining us, and you’re always welcome back!

Kevin and Melissa spent two wonderful weeks with us at our organic farm in rural Bangalore, and their presence truly enriched our time here. They brought enthusiasm and generosity to everything they did, happily lending their hands to any task that needed doing — including cooking healthy meals, cleaning, research, and installing solar panels. What stood out most to us was their spirit: endlessly curious, kind, and genuinely respectful. They were wonderfully easy-going, sensitive to the local culture, and a real joy to share daily life with. In every sense, Kevin and Melissa were a delight to host, and we are deeply grateful for the energy, care, and warmth they brought into our farm and our home.

Sorry Anais for the late feedback!! This lady kept extending her stay and ended up being with us for six or seven months.. and then she came back once more. 😄 That alone says a lot. She truly enjoys being around dogs and was always caring and responsible. Constantly happy, cheerful, and friendly, she was a joy to have around. If you decide to come back again, you’re welcome. 🙂

I had a nice (5 week) stay overall here. The people are really friendly there and the nature around, especially the sunsets over the river were very beautiful. The single rooms are (mostly) nice, the Workaway house in general is not fancy but enough to do everything you need to do. I was lucky to enough to have met some incredibly nice other Workawayers there which made the time together really fun. The work is nothing fancy but not hard either - cleaning during the main season of the camping site and going into fall, we also helped with the christmas lights for their second business (testing, sorting, …) You should definitely have some French skills because even though some of the employees can speak English, they mainly communicate in French. You‘ve got access to a car and 100$ per week to do your groceries and you can‘t reach a big store by foot, so it‘s best to have a driver‘s license. You should also know that you shouldn‘t count on actually earning money there (at least not when it’s not the main season) because the boss doesn‘t really like to pay for extra hours when it‘s not absolutely necessary. There is not that much to do in your free time like going out somewhere since there‘s not much around but that didn‘t bother me personally because I just enjoyed the calmness and you can use the things on site (pool, arrow shooting, kayak etc.)

What an experience! I came not really knowing what to expect and left with many souvenirs and emotions. I was welcomed with love and warmth. We played UNO's in the evening, ate delicious food, helped the kids and even taught some dance lessons!!! I got to discover not only Dehradun, but also Rishikesh where they took me for a day on the scootie :)), as well as Mussorie that is not far away. They were amazing, always asking for feedback, ways of improving the NGO. These are truly wonderful people with a good heart that I admire for the difference they are making. Thank you for this !

The Lodge and the small team is really amazing! I had a great time here. I was 6 weeks in winter in the hotel. I learned how to clean rooms, helping in the kitchen, serv delisous meals, making fire, snow moving, wood cutting and a lot more things... Manon from french is the main cook, you can learn a lot from her. There are two friendly dogs. You have your own room and privat space. You have to work 4 hours, its not hard and stressful. The food is frech and delisouse. When you need something from town, let the staff know, they are actually every 3 days in Whitehorse. For me one of my favorit time in canada! Thanks a lot

Shannon is a delightful young woman who is easy going and has a positive, gentle nature. It was a pleasure to get to know her and share my home and some of my workload with her. She fitted in seamlessly with me and my housemate Ann and was good company and a good worker. I am happy to recommend her and wish her well.

Antonia & Tim are such beautiful people. They are warm, friendly, easy going, positive and very good company. I could not have asked for better Workaways to help me in the garden and in my home. They were a pleasure to work with, very respectful and there was not a thing that I asked that they were not happy to do and do well. They understood my instructions and worked without supervision and finished all jobs to a high standard. Most importantly they were great to live with and fitted into my life like old friends. It was truly a pleasure to have made their aquaintance. I highly recommend Antonia & Tim. You could not ask for better people.
