Description
We are a small international family with a large house and garden in west side of Oslo.
We are both scientists. It is a bit too much for two adults to work, take care of the house, garden and the little one. So we are looking for a bit of help in one or several of these areas.
We have a river next to our garden that has several small waterfalls and is regularly visited by wild ducks. Despite our tranquil setting, we are well connected by public transport to both the Oslo city center (just 10 minutes by bus to Majorstuen) and nature (Nordmarka ski and hiking routes are a 10-minute drive away).
July is the holiday month in Norway and we will go in an out for holidays, we would not host new workawayer in the middle of July. But if you could start your trip from mid June and stay through July, that would be possible. We are also looking for help from 24th August til early Sep. Thank you:)

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are multiculture family ourselves, my husband is swiss and I'm chinese. We have lived in Norway for more than 10 years and have adopted a lot of norwegian living style, such as we love winter sports and hiking.
We have piano and guitar in house so should the guest want to practice their music skills, these are possible.
We will be happy to take our guest with us when we go for local hiking/sports. Oslo itself also has a lot of culture activity, our house is located close to the city center of oslo( 10min bus ride), it's easy to visit most part of oslo from our place by public transport. Alternatively, we have private parking space that can host one more car, we also have one bike that the guest can use to explore the city and nearby forest.

Help
We love travel, hiking and experience different cultures. We used to travel a lot and lived in different places in the world. But now that we have a little one, it's a bit difficult to travel with her when she's tiny. Yet we would like to expose our child to a multicultural environment and meeting new friends. We are welcoming guests who enjoys spending time with children. We also wanted to do many things with the house such as organizing our drawers, paint some part of the house and decorating guest rooms, but didn't have too much time to spare since we both work and have a tiny one running around.
We are looking for someone who can stay mid term , which depends a lot on chemistry of course. We would also greatly appreciate our guest to join us in handling light household chores. Our child is attending kindergarten, so the child care duty is relatively light, we are highly flexible regarding the content of the help.

Accommodation
We have several guest rooms and guest can have their own room. We have less bathroom than guestrooms so might need to share bathroom with other guest depending on how busy we are. In general, the guest will have her/his own bedroom and might have to share bathroom. The kitchen will be shared, and we are happy to share the dinner table. We have one city/mountain hybrid bike available for the guest to use.
The house is big enough to accommodate different type of personality:) If you wouldn't like social too much, there is always quite corners you can spend large amount of time alone.
We would love to eat/cook with the guest when the condition allows. But due to the fact of having a child our eating is very different from normal dinner time. Most of the time we eat simple norwegian style food for breakfast and lunch, and we usually eat something warm and relax in the evening. We are meat lovers. One of our family member is allergic to cat and dog so we unfortunately won't be able to host workawayers with pets.
