I recomendable you do you're research before going, because I didn't. I volunteered under this captain and some of the same crew for about 4 months. But different ship, different organisation. However they kept the same acount so first two comments are unrelated to current organisation. I loved the crew but I didn't love the politics, might be different now but the captain is the same. I had my many issues with Locky and would personally never work for him again. I had a wonderful time, but working on a ship is tireing. Having plans changed, promises never coming to light, and information only being held back constantly makes it more tireing than it has to be. If you don't want to be worked to the bone ask about how many hours you'll be working. During my time I worked from 8 to 5, an hour lunch break and two half hour breaks. Was asked to work out of theses hours too. We got no real days off at sea. Would recommend to look elsewhere :) good luck!

La mia esperienza con Pierluigi è stata fantastica. Mi è piaciuto davvero molto il mio soggiorno e la sua gentilezza infinita, haha. È davvero una delle persone più gentili che abbia mai incontrato. Fa sempre tutto il possibile per rendere il tuo soggiorno più confortevole, e per questo gli sono molto grato. Ho aiutato a rendere il giardino un po’ più bello e ho dato una mano con alcune cose in casa, cosa che ho fatto con molto piacere, ovviamente. Mi ha perfino dato la sua fiducia lasciandomi stare nella sua casa per tre giorni interi mentre doveva tornare al lavoro. Incredibile. Ho anche apprezzato molto la sua compagnia e tutto il cibo fantastico che abbiamo potuto gustare insieme alla sua gentilissima sorella. Una cuoca straordinaria, davvero. È stata un’esperienza meravigliosa nella bellissima Riesi, e con un host così non si può sbagliare. Grazie mille per tutto.

Para nosotros la experiencia junto a Adriana y Manlok fue increible, de una dimensión incalculable, el impulso, compromiso y amor con el que participaron, le dieron al proyecto una energía maravillosa, estamos al servicio de los animales y para la organización, la estadía de estos hermosos seres realmente humanos, nos lleno de vitalidad, de concreción de metas y amor diario a nuestros amados animales rescatados, sinceramente entregaron toda su pasión a estos seres sintientes, siempre pensando maneras de mejorar cada lugar, aportando desde la incondicionalidad y la hermandad amorosa, creo firmemente que donde vayan son un aporte increíble y alegría diaria, fueron días de felicidad,, risas y profundidades en donde los animales estaban como prioridad de vida siempre, la consciencia de Adri y Manlok dejan huellas para bien. Estan y estaran en nuestro corazón sin fronteras, los caminos de la vida consciente van realizando encuentros significativos que perduran por siempre. Camellio estuvo cinco días con nosotros como voluntario en la granja. Hubo algo de confusión inicial entre las fechas de su salida, no pudo completar las dos semanas mínimas que solicitamos, sin embargo... sus cinco jornadas fueron muy productivas. Camellio sin duda fue un gran voluntario, me pudo reemplazar perfectamente durante mis días en ausencia en la granja. Voluntario con buena iniciativa y disposición para cooperar.

Fue un gran gusto recibir a Megan en la casa y comunidad. Compartimos temazcal y diferentes ceremonias, así como pláticas interesantes, siempre en armonía. Apoyó mucho con las labores del jardín y de la casa, también con las labores diarias. Una gran experiencia. Bienvenida siempre Megan :) Totalmente recomendable!

This was my first volunteer experience , and what an amazing adventure it was! Sofia and her family are exceptionally kind. I loved spending four weeks with them in the wonderful accommodation they provided. Sofia's regenerative agriculture project offers incredibly enriching learning experiences. I loved learning alongside her. She is very patient and, above all, a fantastic teacher. The tasks are varied, you will never get boried if you like working with plants and vegetables. Sofia masters perfectly English, so it's very helpfull when you do not master spanish, like me. But still, you can have good opportunities to force you to learn Chilean's spanish with the rest of the family 😍. Now she also knows some pretty good French 😜. The location is simply magical. An ideal place to discover Chilean culture and to relax in the heart of nature. With 3 dogs and 1 cat that love to spend time with you, and severals cows that like to echange some smiles with you. The atmosphere is both fun and friendly. We always work with good music playing, share long discussions, and lots of laughter. I will cherish this experience forever. Thank you to Sofia and her family for their warm welcome. If fate takes me back to Chile, I will gladly return their🤗.

I stayed with Juan for 2,5 weeks and I had the best time there. The house is located in the middle of the most beautiful nature with mountains in the backyard and the lake just 5 minutes walk away. The neighborhood was also very friendly and I felt like home. Juan is a very generous host. He has a good sense of humour, is very caring and I could tell that he really wanted me to have a good time at his place. I could schedule my tasks in a flexible way so there was time to go hiking, kayaking and chill by the lake whenever I wanted. I took care of the horses, did some cleaning and basic household tasks and took care of Max - the most adorable and loving dog. I also did some wood work and for me the tasks was very meaningfull and Juan was also open for ideas. It was my first time trying to do work away ind I had a really great experience. The nature and the animals was easy to love, but the way I felt so welcome and seen was the most important thing for me. Thank you very much Juan!

We were so lucky to have Manon stay with us and cannot recommend her highly enough to any future hosts! She is a lovely girl, incredibly sweet, kind and respectful. She slotted into our family life so naturally and it truly felt like having a trusted member of the family with us. Manon kept everything super tidy, was a great help around the house, and was brilliant with our girls. She went above and beyond, and our daughters loved spending time with her. She fit so well with us as a family and those 10 days flew by. We would welcome her back without hesitation. Any family lucky enough to host her will be in great hands!

My stay in Cabrils with this amazing family was a truly wonderful experience! I spent incredible moments with Pat and her family. As soon as I arrived, I immediately felt at ease in my cozy room and with everyone's affection. I lacked nothing, the house is beautiful, I had a private bathroom, shampoo, conditioner and soap at my disposal. I also had my moment of privacy and was able to enjoy interesting and enriching conversations. They made me feel at home, I really felt very good, calm and at peace. Pat is an amazing person, dedicated, with wonderful energy, an excellent mother, cooks super well, makes super healthy food and always tried to find out what I used to eat so she could buy it for me ❤️ It was so good to be able to have the breakfast I used to have in Brazil. Oli and Albert are very intelligent, dedicated and disciplined. I thank Oli for teaching me some words in Catalan and Albert for being so funny, for acting out people so I could guess who they were and for being the best negotiator there is haha. I thank Oscar for trying to bring me closer to other people so I could go out more often and see new places 😊 Whenever I needed help, Pat was there. She patiently answered all my questions and showed genuine attention and interest in my life and well-being. Barcelona is 30km away by car and I explored the stunning region every weekend during my stay. I loved experiencing Catalan culture and meeting everyone. I will be eternally grateful for this fantastic experience and I certainly recommend Pat and her family as hosts on Workaway.

I'm writing the feedback a bit late, I know :). But anyway, better late that never. I spent around 3 months in the valley, and it was honestly a really fullfilling and intense experience. The workload was completely fair, and they always took care of everyones' strong points and preferences when giving the tasks. I did really diverse work, such as taking care of the chickens, doing swales, tidying the place... The venue was insanely beautiful and there were visitors pretty often which gave me the opportunity to meet some amazing people and learn some practices such as circling or contact improv. Aaaaand to play Catan almost every night. Overall I keep a really good memory of my experience, I hope I can visit again someday ☺️

It was an unforgettable experience to stay with Lisa, Bernhard, Theo and Levi for 7 weeks previously. It was a cold winter so except from taking care of the chicken and cats, I also need to shovel snow, assist in wood logging and refill the wood heater. The tasks required more physical strength than I thought so be prepared for it! Despite the little bit hard work, it was a good experience to live in a place full of stars and fresh air! Lisa's family is very nice. They would invite me to join their meal sometimes when it is possible. They also invite me to join different activities! Thank you Lisa for letting me to stay here to experience a life that totally different with my original life.

I had a great time doing social media and activity support! The team is really kind and this hostel attracts the best kind of people! I would recommend forsure as the workload is not too heavy and your time is respected as long as you can self- organize well :)

Great time with dani and carol. Responsibilities were clear, other volunteers were kind as well. Great food and caring family in addition to beautiful farm and environment. Work hard but play hard, there were trips to beaches and waterfall. You also learn a lot about farming since they are growing their finca and starting milking and cheesemaking and planting. Very much recommend for anyone interested in volunteering.

This Workaway has a special place in my heart :) <33 My expectations were more than fulfilled, and I can’t wait to go back one day! Eugenio and Ettore are a great match when it comes to hosting this place. They really make sure you feel at home and always find time for both silly and deep conversations. I think I have never laughed this much in three weeks haha I was there during the olive harvest, and even though the wake-up time was early, we made it as fun as possible :)) The work itself was sometimes exhausting, but most of it was super enjoyable, and thanks to the cornetti every morning, the pain was quickly forgotten :) On the weekends we went on fun excursions, and there were often friends visiting, which was always a pleasure! They are all open-minded and incredibly warm. I can only recommend this place!

Starting at Jamie’s my New Zealand year long trip was an amazing idea. I’ve found a welcoming family and friends, full of energy interest and kindness. Jamie’s let me the possibility to be part of his lifestyle and it was amazing to follow his spiritual way of living. Calm and dynamic at the same time, enjoying every moment of the day (specially the delicious meals). We get along well on this synchronicity of personality and life-pace. Our greenhouse project was also very enriching my construction skills. Koda is one of the cutest dog. Playing ball with him made me happy to get up of the bed. The whole family flow naturally and nicely between moments by their own and big meeting together. Very pleasant to experience this type of community too. It brings me many idea for my future project and they will always be part of it. Beau and Ann are funny and also let you get inside their warm house to have a nice chat Semara, her son and her cuties doggies are also in to make you try a new experience, new activities or just to listen how was your day. This all mix makes an environment in very harmony with nature and project that they are building. PS : All member of the family loves to hug and that always a beautiful sign of their welcoming and pure heart. So I had a lot of fun, new experiences, interesting conversation, interaction and inspiration. I felt very comfortable. Thanks to everybody. I miss you very much and I might come back to say goodbye to my kiwi family before I leave. Be happy and take care of each other. PS : I miss you Koda

My workaway experience at Elliots place was GORGEOUS!! Elliot is a very caring, patient, trusting, sensitive and easy-going person which made us feel very comfortable during the whole stay. 🔅 The work, tasks, tools as well as the food were well organised. Elliot is open to find ideas together and not narrowed in his plan which contributed to a stronger group feeling and nice experience. We even created things in the free time, such as an incredible caraoke night whoch Elliot would organise wigs and costums for...🧡💛💜 movie night with snacks of course, and just had a lovely time. This is a peaceful beautiful place and Elliot was an amazing host I couldn't wish something else. One of my best workaway experiences so far. 10/10 , very very thankful. 🔅🌈

It's difficult to explain how much you should go visit Geir and Jorunn. This nice couple will take care of you as if you were one of your children and you will indeed feel very soon as at home. The farm is a beautiful bubble of heaven on hearth. Geir is a very joyful character and can talk with you during hours and knows a lot about Norwegian history and culture. Jorunn is the most attentive and thoughtful person that I've ever met and I loved spending time baking with her. The dogs are beautifuls and full of energy. These weeks were one of my best and I leave with a lot of beautiful memories. I'm sad but I know that I will come back. Don't loose a chance to spend beautiful moments and make wonderful memories!

I spent about two weeks at Sophies place looking after Cosmo in February and had a lovely time! The house is peaceful and the area relaxing and Cosmo is very well behaved. He comes up for cuddles when he wants them but always likes company. The house can be a bit chilly during winters with many minus degrees but the fireplace warms it up and the sofa quickly becomes a warm favourite spot! The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and if you don’t have a drivers license like me and are fine being stranded for a while it is paradise! It would be lovely to come back in the summer and experience it then too. I got the chance to spend some days with Sophie as well and she is very sweet and welcoming! We had interesting conversations about life and she is easy to get along with and makes sure you properly get to know the place and feel happy in her home. I am very thankful to have gotten the opportunity to stay at hers and take care of Cosmo! Until next time

It is usual for me to observe young volunteers spending alot of screentime. This was not so with Mattia. His phone was the companion of one or another book of poetry as he , quickly and quirkily, put to his store of words. The breadth and depth of his reading is astonishing. One just saw that he had spent his time in Dublin in the various galleries, drinking it all in. And so he came to flesh it out in the 'Land of Hearts Desire'. It was his hearts desire to tread the hallowed ground the earlier writers had trod; and so we set off the sunny afternoons NWbound . First stop Drumcliffe to pay homage to WBYeats 'under bare Benbulbens head' where he is laid to rest. On an ancient, fossilised, flaggy pavement , the surging and cascading of the sea on the rising tide was beautifully described by Mattia, whilst watching it approach the vulnerable Alt behind which The Poets House nestles. Dermot Healy wrote his best poetry capturing these images! Already versed in J.Joyce, he joined our reading group where he read the Italian lines with Joycean musicality! He also planted potatoes and onions and barrowed mulch for garden beds for a later planting. Being Italian , he did not fret about the lack of lists or a plan for the next day, something that fills me with dread for I like to work as the spirit moves me. And of course the weather is key! He was always courteous , humourous, and appreciative and cooked an authentic pasta for dinner. Bentornato Matteo in qualsiasi momento....anytime! Ciao on your travels in Eirinn.
