    Description

Welcome to our cozy family home in Akureyri, the charming capital of North Iceland! We're Guðrún and Siggi, both 49, currently sharing our home with our youngest son Sölvi (16), while our older children Saga (22) and Uni Steinn (20) have spread their wings. We are all active in sports, hockey and horseback riding. Our household is completed by Garpur the dog and our three chickens affectionately known as the Spice Girls!
We're located just a short walk from the town center, making it perfect for exploring local cafés, shops, and the stunning northern landscape.
We value creating a homely atmosphere and always treat our Workawayers as extended family members. Our approach is relaxed and flexible - we understand that cultural exchange is a two-way street where everyone should feel comfortable.

Your main responsibilities would include helping keeping the house clean and taking Garpur for walks to explore our scenic neighborhood. If you happen to have painting skills - whether for interior or exterior work - that would be absolutely wonderful and greatly appreciated!

    We're Looking For:
    1. Female Workawayers ONLY (25+ years old)
    2. Someone with a valid driver's license
    3. An independent person who can take initiative without constant direction
    4. Someone that can join us for the whole month of July, but is welcome to stay part of June and August of course.

    What We Offer:
    1. Your own private flat within our home
    2. All meals included! (though you'll need to be somewhat self-sufficient in the kitchen while the house master is away)
    3. Access to home amenities including hot tub, cold tub, and sauna
    4. Flexibility for your own travel adventures
    5. The authentic experience of living in a charming small town surrounded by Iceland's breathtaking nature
This is perfect for independent travelers who appreciate stunning landscapes, quiet surroundings, and a genuine cultural experience
