Volunteer Opportunities at My Off-Grid Homestead

At our off-grid homestead in the Sierra Espuña mountains, volunteers join us to experience sustainable rural living, connect with nature, and be part of a small, supportive community.

    The Help We Need
Volunteers help with day-to-day life on the homestead: gardening, maintenance, cooking, and sharing everyday chores. Tasks may include planting, weeding, harvesting, preparing communal meals, and general upkeep of our eco-friendly home. You will not be asked to do any professional building, major repairs, or construction projects. All skilled work is carried out by paid local professionals.

    Cultural Exchange & Learning
The focus is on cultural exchange, sharing skills, and learning together. Volunteers can practice English or Spanish, learn about vegetarian/vegan cooking, discover off-grid living, and share stories and knowledge from their own backgrounds. We love exchanging ideas about organic gardening, eco-living, and local Spanish culture particularly the rich history of the local area —and we are always eager to learn from our visitors as well.

    Interaction & Community
We live and work together as a small group, sharing meals, stories, and daily routines. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their creativity and interests to our community—whether it’s a favorite recipe, a new gardening tip, or a song around the fire. Our hope is that everyone leaves with new skills, friendships, and memories.
If you’re looking for a genuine cultural exchange in beautiful nature, and are happy to lend a hand with simple, everyday eco-living, We would love love to hear from you! Elliot and Em.

    • We always point out to prospective volunteers that there is heavy lift involved (eg 25 Kilo gas bts).

    • We operate on Spanish times for meals and helping, we also like to have a flexible approach to the day sometimes the day changed due to the weather for example and we ask that volunteers are easy going and adaptable.

    • We would not ask more than 5 hours a day, helping around the weather to do mixed mornings and evenings.
