We were so lucky to spend three weeks! Dajana, Filipo, and Jo are incredible people; we wish everyone could meet them at least once in their life. We mainly gardened, dug trenches, cooked, and enjoyed the magnificent setting that the island and the place offer ! We immediately felt at home. A truly vibrant and luminous place ! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this experience, which will forever be etched in our memories :)

Lorenzo has a calm and balanced temperament, which created a relaxed and positive atmosphere during his stay. He approached every task with patience and focus, even when the work was physically demanding. At the same time, his sense of humor and light-hearted attitude made daily life more enjoyable — not only during work, but also during meals and shared moments with the family. It was easy to live and work together with him, something that is truly valued here at the finca. We are grateful for his support, reliability, and the peaceful energy he brought.

We enjoyed having Tim as a volunteer at our hostel. He is a kind, reliable, and easygoing person who was a great addition to our team. He was always willing to help took and responsibility for his tasks. He brought carpentry skills, which were very helpful for maintaining and improving the property. Tim built strong connections with both fellow volunteers and our guests, helping to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere at the hostel. We got along very well and shared several great experiences together, including hiking, surfing, and snowboarding. We are still in contact with Tim, and we appreciate the time he spent contributing to our project. He genuinely cares about people and about the hostel, which made him a pleasure to work with. We wish him all the best in the future and would gladly recommend him :)

It was truly a pleasure to have you both here at the finca for those three weeks. We really appreciated your motivation and positive energy — even when the work was tough! Planting trees, building walls, laying concrete and managing daily life with two little ones is no small task, and your help made a real difference for us. We’re especially happy to hear that you enjoyed the experience and had fun along the way. Sharing meals, conversations and everyday moments is an important part of life here, and we’re grateful we could share that time with you. You’ll always be welcome back at the finca . All the best, Lili & Wolfgang

A little bit late sending my feedback, but it was an overall lovely experience! Paolo, Giovanna, and the other friends and family were so very warm and welcoming! They were always understanding, and they did their absolute best at making sure I was always happy and cared for and welcomed me like a long-time friend! I enjoyed being able to meet several people from different backgrounds. I really enjoyed my summer there, especially with how close it is to the beach :) I learned a lot about sustainable farming, and it got me out of my typical comfort zone. I loved listening to Paolo's stories and experiences, and he is such a funny and silly storyteller. I hope to visit again, or they visit me in Ireland ;), sometime soon in the future!

Riding away from Tim’s place is his held-together-by-old-shoelaces Renault. I had one thing on my mind. How much does property cost around here? I stayed here for a month and had a great time. Tim is hilarious and easy to work with. Everybody I met was delightful. The work was right up my alley. The food was delicious. The location is just phenomenal, a pristine river valley surrounded by nature. I will definitely miss hiking up the mountain and swimming in the river. Most days start with drinking coffee and waiting for the sun to peak over the mountains. Then everyone usually works until 2:00-3:00 when we stop to eat lunch together. My work consisted of lots of tree cutting, wood hauling, building projects, and refurbishing a hardwood floor but my greatest contribution is probably the coffee sock stand. The project is still in its early stages so don’t expect to be spoiled by modern luxuries. The electricity is from a generator. The roof leaks more than a porcupine's raincoat. The buildings have a lower insulation value than a slice of Swiss cheese. But every day things are getting improved. It’s great to see the progress and I can’t wait to see what it will look like when it’s finished. I do have a bone to pick with the animals. The flies, wasps, rats, and the rooster need to die. The cat should be put out of its misery. The dog would be tolerable if he didn’t bark all night long! The only normal one is the hen. Respect mama chicken she is a true survivor. All in all a great experience. Spectacular vibe all around. Thanks for having me and good luck with everything!

As soon as I arrived in Las Tunas, I knew it would be difficult to leave. It felt like such a magical place from day one, from watching plankton illuminate the waves at night, to watching the moonrise from the line up. Not a week goes by where I don't miss waking up there, smelling the salty breeze and seeing what the day brings! Nidia, Jason and Chris (even Flacco the dog) welcomed me with open arms, and helped me settle into the area right away. The work/volunteer deal is so generous, you will honestly feel like a guest for most of the day. They're super friendly, genuine, laid back, and generally a lovely family to work for. It was such a special place for me - the waves, the long beach, the quietness and the slow pace of life. From the hosts, to the guests and fellow volunteers, it really felt like we were a huge family!

Connection comes first here. The focus is on making everyone feel at home and genuinely connected to each other. There’s a strong culture of supporting the local village, and that’s not just talk — it’s actively encouraged. If you want a great atmosphere but can still lock in and get your work done when it matters, you’ll thrive here. The welcome is open, warm, and real. When you show up and do your part, it’s noticed and appreciated. The only thing you need to be okay with is a bit of unpredictability. Plans can shift and communication isn’t always the strongest point. If you can let go of needing everything mapped out in advance, you’ll be just fine.

I had a lovely experience staying with Najat & Noureddine despite being very unlucky with the weather. The food is great, the house is beautiful, and N & N were always making sure that I had everything I needed and that I'm having a good time. They always invited me along to visit different places around the area. I also really enjoyed our daily language exchange with Najat, and I feel like my French really improved during my 3 weeks at Mèze. I had some really interesting conversations with Noureddine and I really appreciate the values and view of life they both have. The area is absolutely beautiful and there's a lot to explore. There's many bikes that you can borrow and the town centre is just a 10 min bikeride away. The work was different everyday (painting, small repairs, cleaning) etc., and I enjoyed the variety of tasks. Would definitely recommend! Merci pour tout. 🥰

Erin and Alex have been raleally friendly and helpful. It has been truly a pleasure having met them and being a part of their travel plan. They helped us a lot with the olives, cooking together, exchanging healthy recepies. They are really recommended. We really hope to meet them again in future!

This was one of my first workaway experiences and I’m so grateful that it was at Ella’s place. Ella and her family are lovely people and I’m thankful I was aloud to be a part of it for a few weeks. The work was light and enjoyable and the scenery was beautiful. The accommodation I stayed in next to the house was perfect. When I return to Italy I would definitely love to come back here:) Thank you Ella!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Eduardo and Maria Rosa. I appreciated my own mini living space, with fireplace. Before the storms came I enjoyed pruning olive and almond trees, planting and composting. Both hosts showed lots of patience with my slow broken Spanish and we managed to have some interesting conversations about culture, history and politics which were super interesting to me. And I am most grateful for their kindness in allowing me to stay longer, negotiating a further work when my van broke down. I really recommend volunteering for Eduardo and Maria Rosa

Florent was a great help during his stay. He is very autonomous and independent, which I truly appreciated. He helped me build some quite complex IKEA furniture (high difficulty level) and did it with patience and precision. He was also proactive with cleaning tasks and took responsibility for what needed to be done without me having to supervise closely. He approached everything with a willing and helpful attitude. Florent is responsible, practical and easy to host, I can highly recommend him!

Srdjan and his family all welcomed me really warmly and they are very fun and easygoing. Srdjan included me in all of his life, I got so see how the rural community in Serbia work together exchanging homegrown foodstuff and tools without using money, it was really interesting for me to see this way of living. They helped me a lot also with organising some delivery which I am very grateful for. I helped with feeding of the animals, cleaning the sty, chopping wood, gutting chickens, making yoghurt and cheese, visiting lots of neighbours to drink rakia, usual winter farm tasks. I also randomly ended up on Serbian TV which was funny. Best of luck in all your adventurous projects!

Sonny stayed with us for one month, and it was a truly positive experience. He is a calm, thoughtful and respectful person, very easy to live with. He has a quiet presence, a gentle sense of humour, and a warm but reserved personality that brings a peaceful atmosphere to the home. He worked carefully and responsibly, and we could rely on him to complete tasks independently. During his stay he helped spread hay for mulching around the land, organised and stacked firewood very neatly in the woodshed, and took part in regular compost work. Whatever the task, he worked with attention, patience and care. He adapted well to the rhythm of life here, showed initiative when needed, and was always polite and considerate in daily life. He connected very naturally with the animals — Nero and Mirta were especially fond of him. It was a real pleasure to host Sonny. We appreciated his presence very much and would be happy to welcome him again anytime. We warmly recommend him to other hosts. Sonny has been travelling the world for quite a long time now, and we truly admire his spirit of exploration. We wish him many more beautiful experiences, safe travels, and inspiring discoveries on the road ahead.

We had a great couple of weeks at Eduin's schools, starting out at the main branch in Mariquita, finishing up at the (much cooler) mountain town of Manzanares with a day trip to La Dorada in between. Eduin was extremely helpful and welcoming throughout and it gave us a great opportunity to spend some time in a part of Colombia few tourists ever get to visit. The work itself was mainly simple conversation and introductions; the students and teachers were extremely friendly and the classrooms themselves very pleasant. We really liked the towns; Mariquita is a lively place, the little school at Manzanares is fabulous and nearby Honda well worth a visit. Thank you Eduin and the team for such a warm welcome.

Meike was an absolutely wonderful blessing of a guest and volunteer here in so many ways. She was an incredibly sweet and thoughtful girl who was extremely self-motivated and always willing to help with all kinds of projects and tasks, very creative taking on new challenges and overcoming many obstacles, and an overall friendly and lovely personality that everyone here really enjoyed. She contributed in so many ways from building a bamboo table and stool to helping build a fence, gate, and the structure for a hut, weeding, planting, removing grass for reforestation, cleaning and organizing the house, preparing accommodations for incoming volunteers, preparing wonderful food to share, leaving some super kind gifts that surprised us all, and so many other things it's hard to keep track of them all. What stood out the most about her was her really true sense of caring about the project and genuinely wanting to help however she could always with a smile on her face and a positive attitude. It also can't be stressed enough how self-motivated she was, not just about work and helping but in so many different ways. She would often just work on some project that she saw needed some attention, she was usually the first one to start working in the mornings (which motivated other people), and it was common for her to say something like "I'm going to go prune the cacao trees" or "I'll be up in the jungle area getting rid of the grass". She was also the one who would regularly suggest activities, making some kind of food, going on adventures, playing games, and more. There were so many things to appreciate about her, but overall she was a dream to have here, we are so happy she chose to visit and stay longer than she anticipated. We would definitely give her the highest recommendation for any project she wants to help with. Thank you so much Meike for all your energy, effort, and your uplifting spirit that will never be forgotten and always welcome here. Bon voyage! :)
